Bright, everything is bright. Where am I? I can't seem to remember much of what I was doing. Though I try to look past the blinding white light it is keeping me from seeing anything.
I reach out with my hands as far as I can and feel them stop against something. Feeling around I can tell this is some kind of circular room, but where are the doors at?
I try hitting the wall and felt the whole room slightly shake. After giving it another hit the entire room began rapidly move as if spinning. My whole world was spinning, I toppled over several times going round and round. I couldn't feel a sense of dizziness from the spinning, in fact, I could even tell that I was falling as well.
CRUNCH
"Ooof." I fell flat on my face after coming to a sudden stop. Picking myself up I looked into the surrounding darkness. As I did so the room that had broken in two began to dissipate from around me and only a stream of light showed down on me.
"Where... am I?"
I look towards the darkness, strangely enough, I can see rather well, maybe it's not as dark as I thought? Surrounding me on all sides are trees the size of mountains and plants the size of normal trees.
"What is that!?" In the distance, I could see large insects which stood even higher than some of the plants.
'Munch', 'munch', 'munch', hearing a strange noise I look up to see a giant bug with a red shell and black polka-dots.
"A ladybug?! It's so big!" I got sucked in by the large ladybug's appearance
Paying no mind to me, the ladybug continued munching on the leaves. The leaves were not only large in size but thick as well, but that didn't stop the ladybug from devouring them in large bites.
"I suppose that is where I fell down from." Glancing up at the plant I make a guess that I fell from there, luckily I wasn't gobbled up.
As I was thinking to myself the giant lady bug stopped munching on the leaves and as if it had noticed something, peered down at me.
For a moment we just stared at each other. To my surprise, the face of the ladybug was fairly lady like, like the face of a mother, there was just one thing that didn't look motherly. Two extensions rose from above its eyes forming sharp peaks.
ROAR
While I was lost in thought the motherly looking ladybug roared and began to dive at me with its head. This situation definitely seems bad, it's almost like a strange nightmare, but oddly I don't feel scared like I would normally.
This feels so much like a dream. I don't know if dreams could imitate the stinky breath and hot air that is seeping out from the ladybug's mouth, or the clear vivid colors that paint its back and the large bead like eyes glaring at me with foul intent.
CHOMP
I hopped out of the way at the last second, I really should stop getting lost in my own thoughts. This ladybug really wants to eat me for dinner, though I think I would only pass as a snack at this size.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
CHOMP
"Woah!" I jump away again, my reflexes are really good. I turn and run away leaving the ladybug in the dust. I don't remember having such good reflexes or being a fast runner though. For some reason, I get the feeling that I'm supposed to be slow.
Stopping for a moment I place my left elbow in my hand and with my free hand, I grab my chin to ponder. Doing this I notice something strange.
"No hands... and... no chin?"
This is strange, too strange. I remember having hands with five fingers, but now I only have stubs? I also remember having a pointy chin and round cheeks. Now I can only feel a completely rounded head. I don't have ears either, okay what's going on here?
"It's like I thought, this must be a dream, definitely, a dream, totally a dre..." I try to reassure myself.
CHOMP
"... Okay, that's enough." The ladybug had caught up to me and jumped at me with its large mouth. I'm sure I left it in the dust.
Irritated by the ladybug's persistence I Turn around. Strangely confident in myself I plant my feet into the ground and take a striking pose. As the ladybug came down again to chomp at me this time turned and throw out what should be a fist.
CRACK
Next what I saw was the ladybug taking a step back with a new scar on its face or rather... its face was now cracked in between its large eyes.
"ROOOOOOOOAAAAR" The ladybug made a loud noisy roar that soared into the sky.
After pausing for a moment as if to figure out what just happened the ladybug looked back at me with a renewed anger. Its face was filled with concentrated hatred, and it was concentrating it all on me. Maybe I should start running.
Before I could even turn around to run, a large hand appeared above the ladybug. Descending from above its fingers wrapped around the ladybug and squeezed tightly. I heard several crunching sounds. Looking up I saw a giant red haired beast hanging from a tree limb as if it were natural.
"Gooor.... rilla..." I stared dumbfounded at the large beast as It chewed on the ladybug.
It was indeed a gorilla, a gorilla that could make gorillas that kidnap women and climb towers look like cute little babies. It also had deep blood red hair covering its entire body. The gorilla began munching on the ladybug, only giving me a casual glance before ascending the tree with ease.
The trees were not incredibly wide and the branches were not nearly as thick as the gorilla's arm, but the tree still managed to support the gorilla as it soared to the top.
"Thank goodness I'm not worth eating." After mumbling to myself I began looking around to see where I am but... No matter where I looked all I saw where plants and trees.
I think this is a forest. I have a vague feeling that I did not live in a forest, but perhaps I lived near one? But I can't recall having seen a forest such as this one. Beasts the size of mountains, large bugs that made people seem small, and trees that had no end to them.
Looking in the distant darkness I saw many bugs and beasts. Though from what I see, they seem to be extremely far apart, in fact, they are even further from me than each other. Since when can I see so far? I can't remember if I had good eye sight, but I think this is beyond having good or bad eyesight. In the first place, I don't think I had night vision.
I look around myself, on all sides are large plants and tall grass. Beyond the plants are the trees and the creatures of the forest. Oh, it seems that I am also in another beam of light, I didn't notice this but for a forest as dark as this, there are an awful lot of beams of light coming from the top of the forest.
Looking up, I don't see where the light could be coming from. Well, that is not important, for now, let's wander around, If I run into another bug or beast I think I can run away from it rather easily with my current speed.
As I walked around I found a stream of water flowing through the forest, the water was flowing slowly down stream. Occasionally a large fish would swim towards me to get a look at me and then quickly swim away as if it had seen a ghost.
Ghost or not, what ever I had become, I'm no longer what I use to be, this was the strong feeling I felt after looking at my reflection in the water. Two large black holes peered at me from a white rounded face. I also had a constantly open mouth that was another black hole, I could somehow make it smaller and bigger, but I couldn't seem to close it.
I continued looking into the water at those eyes, their deepness seemed to pull my consciousness into them and my mind began to wander off, or rather I was really sucked into those eyes. Everything around me became dark and then I began to hear something, and a light began to appear in front of me as memories of another time came to me.
