Luna POV:

Is this guy serious? Is he really asking us who's his enemy? There are 2 girls huddled together in each other arms, in front of them is a wounded demon, you know demon, like tail and claws and wings? And he's asking who's his enemy?

"Really?" Involuntary my voice leaked.

"Hmm?"

Well... no choice now other than to explain what I have in mind.

"Are you really asking who's your enemy when there are two girls in each other arms in front of a demon? You know demon like tail, wings, claws and wants to kill us?"

"Luna, even if you're right all of us are masked, think about it we are suspicious to him, after all it isn't unthinkable that we might be seen as conspirators fighting among themselves. Dark hero! I am Evileye of Blue Rose, and I appeal to you as a fellow adamantite-ranked adventurer! Please, aid us!"

"U-umu, I understand"

"Riiiiight, if you have any way to harm him your welcome here, if not then leave immediately as I cannot guarantee your life if you stay."

"Don't worry I can manage" With enough words said he stood before the demon hiding us behind his back.

Right, at leat he's on our side, well more actions less talkin-- wait what?

The demon confronting us actually bowed his head? Like in respect actually, or is he playing games again and mocking him? Let's wait for his move, first I need an estimate of this hero strength.

"My, my, such an honor you pay us this night. Might I inquire as to your noble name? This one is known as Jaldabaoth."

Jaldabaoth? As in the 'False God'? But why would he give away his true name? Jaldabaoth, Saklas, Samael, everything comes back to Demiurge. Demiurge had 7 servants, something is wrong here... Jaldabaoth... Jaldabaoth... Oh please tell me I am wrong here... If I remember correctly wasn't it originating from Jewish-Christian ancient ideas and systems... Demiurge as in Antagonistic to the will of the Supreme Being?

"Jaldabaoth? ... What a weird name."

So I was wrong after all... At least he's on our side. Now what to do with this demon. He's obviously a Players creation because there isn't anything related to Christianism or any other religion from my old world in this one. Based on his name he has underlings, possibly as strong, or at a bit less stronger than he is. This also means he was toying with us the whole time and was planning on getting serious when this warrior dropped in... Hehe... dropped in.

"Jaldabaoth, is it? I understand. My name is Momon, and like she said, I am and adamantite-ranked adventurer."

He's quite calm. Is it arrogance or confidence in his abilities? While I am sure of taking my opponent head on and winning without a scratch I cannot do the same with Evileye in my arm while preventing any harm coming to her. Now this guy is calm enough because he knows we can take care of ourselves, or he knows he can protect us while fighting. Gaaah... I cannot read him, no unnecessary movement, even breathing, still like stone... nothing, even his emotions should be at least strained. These guys...

"Will you be staring at each other the whole night? If you worry about us Momon-san then please stop. I can take care of myself and Evileye, if you think yourself as strong enough to stand against him then please do help, but expect him to be stronger than you think."

"Understood" Replied Momon

"Ah, I see. May I then inquire as to the reason you have graced us with your presence this evening?" Asked Jaldabaoth, are they going to exchange information now? He wants to avoid fighting him? Welp... if this demon wants to kill us and this guy decides to abandon us, I might use him to get some time and run away.

"It's for a request. A certain noble hired us to defend his estate... but as I flew through the skies above the Royal Capital, I saw this battle. I assumed that it was an emergency, and naturally I jumped in."

Seriously? You shouldn't be alone then!? Don't tell me this guy decided to drop in just like that, without any thought?

"And what is your objective?"

"A mighty item capable of summoning us to this plane and commanding us has found its way to this city. We are here in order to retrieve it, of course."

"And what if we gave it to you? Wouldn't that solve the problem?"

"Unfortunately, that would be impossible. There can only ever be hostility between us. There is also these two womans hospitality, which I must reciprocate."

"What kind of conclusion is that? De- Jaldabaoth, must we be enemies?"

"That is precisely so."

This is ridiculous. They are exchanging information just like that? Where equality in this? My dear common sense... How glad I am without you. At least I won't become insane this way... or rather I won't become more insane than I already am.

"Well, I understand, for the most part. In that case... you shall be deafeated here, any problems with that?"

"That... would be inconvenient. Do permit me to put up a bit of resistance."

"Then-- Here I come."

Finally! Whenever he moves- and just like that he moved and egaged Jaldabaoth in an intense melee fight. Not taking any chance I moved as far as I could from them while still being in range to assist with spells if necessary.

While their fight can be considered high-level for this worlds warriors, for me this is slow, especially at this distance.

"Incredible..." Evileye muttered while looking at the ongoing fight. Not taking my eyes away from their fight I replied in a hurt tone."

"Onee-sama... While their fight can be considered high-level, I am much better than them, please praise me too"

"Right, sorry Luna... it's just their movements that I cannot follow. While your fight was good, their is much more intense."

"Don't worry, I have already a training regiment planned for you! With my guidance and help you will be able to follow every move that is blurry for you right now in record time. What do you see right now?"

"After-images of countless swords, parried or countered by the extended claws of Jaldaboath. Momon-san vanishing and reappearing already in an intense fight."

"Hmm... Onee-sama, I can follow their every move and I can tell they're holding back, a lot. When we get some free time we will start your magic studies with some battles to gain experience and control. Leave everything to me and believe in me!"

"Hehe... focus on fight we will talk later."

*Clang*

And with that sound Jaldaboath was blown a good distance away. Now out of my range of spells, though he remained on his feet and is still skidding over the cobblestone floor and after several dozen meters more, he finally came to a halt and dusted himself off. Now that I am looking at him though his suit din't get any lasting damage other than some splotches where his most serious wounds from my spells were located.

"Truly spectacular. Crossing blows with a genius warrior like yourself might have been a mistake on my part."

"Enough with the pleasantries. You're hiding your true power too, arent you?" Calmy replied Momon while stabbing his sword deep into the stone beneath him and then used his now free hand to sweep a chunk of stone lodged near his neck away.

"Could he be a God-kin?" Out of my musing brought me Evileye asking this question.

"You do know that we aren't gods? He isn't a god-kin as far as I can tell. You do remember what I am, right?"

"To be more precise it's Slaine Theocracy that's calling these people demigods."

"Slaine? ... Slaine... I do recognize that name but I cannot remember what was that about... propably something not important if I forgot about it... meh... They're wrong nothing more to say about this..." Slaine... wasn't  there a party with this name in Yggdrasil? Impossible, I would've remembered otherwise so it couldn't be important enough.

"My my, it seems I couldn't hide it from you after all. You are Momon-sa--n, are you not?"

"Indeed, Jaldabaoth, my name is Momon after all."

"Very well, then. Here I come."

[Aspect of the Devil: Bone Spikes]

Bones sprouted from Jaldabaoth's palm of the hand. A massive amount of them, if I wasn't already in a fight one could think of it being a simple hedgehog in his hand, but I know better than that, these spikes even at this distance shine with sharpness and lethality. If they hit Evileye in any vital place, she's done for.

"You are strong. There is no doubt that your strength might exceed my own. Though it is not exactly to my tastes, permit me the use of this method. While your own defense is formidable, the same cannot be said of the small fries behind you, as they barely managed to stand against me before. Perhaps you should focus on defending them, no?"

With that, he cast forth said bones. This bad, even if they miss anything vital they will make much damage to her body, I don't want to think about the pain she will experience.

"Luna!" Looks like time is ou--

While I was thinking on unleashing my defense, Momon moved the whole distance between us and is now standing here defending us from harm.

"it's good that you're all right."

His voice was calm. Even when swinging his sword at high speed his breathing was measured. Well this is unexpected, he managed to completly deflect all projectiles coming our way.

"Ah! Your shoulder!" Exclaimed Evileye

Huh? Oooohh, Momon's pauldron has bones stuck in it. Looks like he isn't capable enough to deflect them all and remain unharmed, or rather with his armor not struck.

"That's nothing. Attacks of this level aren't even worthy of consideration. Rather, I'm glad that you two are all right."

"Knight-errant much? I will have you know that we are already a recognized couple! Right Evileye?"

"L-Luna! Stop it, you're embarrassing me!"

"You didn't deny it! Yay!" Evileye looked away when I said this, so cute!

*Chuckle*

Huh? Momon started chuckling to himself.

"Don't worry, I understand." Replied Momon

"Then I don't see a problem here. Thanks for assitance."

"Marvellous! For defending them without letting any harm befall them, I, Jaldabaoth offer you my sincerest congratulations. Truly a marvellous display." Is this guys serious? Well, it's not like he knows what I am capable of.

"Like I said, enough with the pleasantries. Tell me, Jaldabaoth, why are you pulling away?"

With that he tried scooping us in his arm, but...

"Hey, hey, hey, big guy. I am good with being on friendly terms with you, but please hold your arms away from us. I can take care of myself and Evileye here. While your assistance was appreciated, I could do without it, so please focus on your fight, if there's an opportunity I will help with some spells. So once again, no touchy-touchy, am I clear? Women don't like being touched especially by some strangers."

"... Ah, forgive me then, I won't try again."

"Good, at least you understand quickly"

"Luna, while I'm not saying you're wrong, he only wanted this to protect us better. I'm sorry for my companions antics."

"But, I already said that it's not needed. I can protect you better than him." Is it jealousy in my voice?

"Don't worry about it... Now then, shall we begin?" Oh Momon wants to fight again?

"No, I believe this will be all for now. I wasted enough time as it is here and my objective is not to defeat you. We have already engulfed part of the capital in flames. Once we have established a breach, rest assured that we certainly will send you to the underworld atop a pyre of hellfire flame. It's a shame that I cannot reciprocate the hospitality of the two behind your back, but don't worry, everything will be given back in due time."

With that said Jaldabaoth turned and moved. If it were for someone else then simply saying that he vanished would be enough. but he is much slower than me in top condition. If I have to compare, he's maybe twice as fast as this maid before.

"No. No, this isn't good. Luna, if we don't pursue him." Evileye began to panic when Jaldabaoth vanished from her sight but...

"We can't do that. He was retreating in order to carry out his plan. If we pursued him, he would fight with his full potential. And if he did that..."

"Sadly I must agree with him. While He and I may be strong enough to fight him, the same cannot be said about you Evileye. I can protect you from him, but I cannot beat him at the same time. If you got caught in the attacks between us... I wouldn't be able to stand this. You do know how long I have been waiting for this right?" As I said this I let her off and then took her by the hand.

Evileye, understood what I have in mind, if her looking at our linked hands and then squeezing lightly is any indication.

"Don't be depressed, after everything is over I will help you improve as promised, so humour up." I hugged her with one arm, still holding her hand.

"...Now then, Nabe. What do you think we should do?" In response to his voice a woman descended from the sky. She's quite beatiful if I have to say something, but there's only Evileye for me.

"Momon-sa--n. Why don't we head to the residence of the nobleman who hired us, as we planned originally?" Proposed the woman called by momon-san, Nabe.

"Should we ignore Jaldaboath? Isn't he the whole reason why I'm here to begin with?"

"Perhaps, but we should still obtain the clients permission before we do anything. This seems most imporant at the moment."

"That is true"

"Before that, thank you very much for all your help. Allow me to properly reintroduce myself. I am Evileye, of the adamantite ranked adventuring party Blue Rose. With me here is..."

"Luna Scarlet. Currently without a rank seeing as I'm not registered in the guild, but I want to join Blue Roses to spend more time with onee-sama and if everything goes as planned then I should be able to join them after tonight."

"No need to be so formal. I am Momon, an adamangite-ranked adventurer like yourself Evileye-san and hopefully Luna-san. The magic caster at my side is my companion, Nabe. So what will you two do now?"

"Our two companions escaped earlier thanks to Luna here-- *Wave* --So we will join them and the rest of our group as planned before things escalated out of norm."

"I see... If possible I would like to meet with your party. Would it be possible to accompany you till your meeting point?"

"I don't see a problem with it. How about you Luna?"

"As long as onee-sama is fine with it then I won't have any problem."

With that said we left the battle scene behind and slowly moved to our meeting point.

"Then, while we move, do you mind if I ask what happened before?"

"Hmm, to make it short. We, and by this I mean me and Evileye got a job to look for our missing teammates by the leader of Blue Rose, this was also some sort of test for me if i want to join them. When we finally arrived here, our eyes sighted the rest of Blue Rose members laid on the ground. Assuming the worst we jumped in and engaged in fight a spider maid. After some time we managed to beat her, but before we could kill her, the demon you have seen stopped us. We dealt some damage to him, but apparently that wasnt enough to escape. This was the moment you jumped in and helped us. You know the rest." My explanation was short but there wasn't much more to tell.

"... is that so? I see, I see."

"Then... if you hadn't tried to kill the insect maid, do you think Jaldabaoth would have attack you?"

"Well, propably yes. This fight was unavoidable, because this insect maid wanted to eat us badly. While I don't have anything against sentient monster it is only as long as they don't want to harm or eat other people. So we were pretty much forced to defend ourselves. My main objective was to protect our group, not to kill the maid. For all I care she can live and do anything she wants, as long as she abides some rules. Besides Jaldabaoth said something about consuming a part of the capital in hellfire. With that said we are enemies, even if we want to avoid it a fight will erupt no matter what."

"Mmm. Ah. I see. You are right. I apologize." In the end Momon apologized to me?

"Hmm? Why are you apologizing? It's normal to ask such things, besides every adventurer should at least be aware of avoiding unnecessary fights. Am I right Evileye?"

"Once again, Luna here is right. it's almost natural for adventurer to avoid fights if possible, sadly we couldn't do this in this fight."

"Momon-san, look over there" As Nabe interjected and pointed at something behind us.

Once we turned I could see crimson fire reachings towards the sky. It was easily thirty meters high and propably enveloping a good chunk od the capital.

"Huh? What is that?" Evileye's question unexpectedly answered Momon

"The flames of gehenna?" Muttered Momon

"That, that, what is tha--" She tried but sadly I interrupted her before she could ask.

"Evileye, not now. I will explain it later to you. First me have to move out and assemble with the rest of Blue Roses. This is no longer a single incident but an invasion."

"Then please go without us, I must discuss something with Nabe here first, please excuse us." With that they stopped moving while we began to run."

After some distance was gained. I finally told Evileye what I had in mind.

"Onee-sama, no matter what, don't come close to him. He's dangerous, not only in power, but there is something wrong with him, I cannot get an accurate read on him. The spell that you see is called Flames of gehenna. it's an illusion for us, but for demons it improves their attributes, and spells, like a buff. We move as fast as we can to the adventurer guild after joining your teammates. This is no longer a simple matter, if we don't move quickly there won't be anything left in the spells acting field."

"Then what are we waiting for?"

"Conserve mana. I have mana to spare with my reserves so don't waste yours."

[Mass Fly]

"You could have used it earlier, if you know such spells." Complained Evileye

"No can do, I don't want to be hunted or called a monster. Hiding my strenght is the only way to get some peace. Now, more flying less talking. We should arrive in some minutes if we hurry."
