Chapter 2: Meeting the Guardians

Following the lead of his maid Alena, Kurai inspected his surrounding as he walked through his castle. Everything seemed so real. He could not imagine those game pixels could become something this amazing. Although its name was ‘Black Castle’, famous for its impenetrable black wall, the corridors inside were brightly lit and decorated with diamond and platinum. The place was even grander than an emperor’s palace!

There were four gigantic towers at four corners of the castle. No guard or servant can be seen yet but Alena did say they went into hiding when he fell asleep. They continued to walk until Alena stop at the base of the southern tower. Kurai immediately knew why they went here.

“Huh? I am taking a bath?”

“Yes, master, we need to clean you up before meeting with other monsters and you did sleep for quite a long time so some hot water will help to wash the drowsiness away.”

“Alright.” Finding no fault in her argument, Kurai stepped inside, but he soon turned around.

“Umn…Alena, are you going in too?”

“Of course, master, it is my duty to wash your body clean.”

“What!?” He took a look at Alena, but her eyes showed no sign of backing down.

“If..if you insist.” He gave in.

The bathhouse was huge. There was a big pool in the middle heated up by magic rune. A giant gold dragon statue stood in the middle with water spewing out of his mouth. A glass wall was on the side with many types of shampoo and conditioner lining up. After taking off his clothe, he took a look of himself in the mirror.

There stood a child about twelve years old with black hair and black eyes. His face could be called cute. He had tone muscle that a child usually does not have. But his height, standing at 140 meters, was that of a middle school student. His hair, although short, was un-kept. On his head were two long curve black horns. Overall, he gave off a vile of a cute kid, not an overlord of all monsters. (Haha, I love my MC)

When he create this character, he named it Kurai Kodomo, which mean ‘dark child’ (I used google translate for this lol). Based on the name, he decided to make his character had an appearance of a child. Since he was immortal, he never grew thus retaining the same appearance all these years.

Looking back at Alena, she already got herself out of her maid uniform and was wearing a white towel. Without her clothe on, her body look even more amazing, and Kurai had to try to keep his face from reddening.

“Master, please sit down and let me wash you, we must hurry since the others will be arriving soon.”

“Right…” He reluctantly sat down on a wooden stool.

Alena started to wash her master’s small but firm back. She then put shampoo on her hand and scrubbed his hair. After that she used a sponge to rub his body, but when she got to his lower region.

“Wait!! I can wash there by myself!” her master shouted trying to protect any last shred of his dignity.

“Master is acting strange today. Doesn’t Alena always wash master’s entire body for him?”

“Huh!?” ‘I don’t remember that part in the game! The screen always went black at these moments!!’

“Stay still, master. I’m almost done.”

“Nooooooooo!!!” Kurai struggled but his effort seemed useless against the experienced maid.

After the bath incident, they went to the dressing room to pick out an outfit for Kurai. The dressing room was probably bigger than a king’s throne room. It was filled to the brim with all types of outfits. Some were even made from extremely rare material like thunder dragon hide or angel’s feathers. Kurai collected all kinds of cloth during the time he played the game, but he always hate those bulky dresses that kings and queens usually wore. Instead he picked out a simple black shirt made from some mysterious hide and a black pant made from the famous beast black panther. He chose a black dragon hide cape with hood that cover his entire body and even his face. For boot he also picked one made from dragon hide. When he was done dressing, he looked like a little ninja, except with a cape.

“…C..Cute...” Alena unintentionally blurted out.

“Heh?”

“Nothing, master…Now that you are ready. Let head to the throne room.”

“Alright, let go.”

They headed down the corridor until they reached the heart of the castle, the throne room. Inside was spacious with a red carpet in the middle leading all the way up to the throne. The throne was made out of some sort of dark crystal that seemed to absorb light around it. It was shaped in the shape of an egg but with a majestic black crystal dragon coil around.

Kurai walked up to his throne, the place where he sat for many years in game (or many millennia in the Nova’s time). It was designed to fit his small body perfectly but at the same time give off a dominating aura. Kurai placed his hand on the dragon head, feeling the familiar crystal beneath. He then proceeded to sit down on the throne, but suddenly…

“Kodomo-samaaaaaaaaa!”

After a blur, Kurai found himself in a bear hug; his head was stuffed between two mountains of flesh.  The culprit was a gorgeous woman standing at 180 cm tall. She had long blond hair that looked smooth like silk. Her features were that of a mature beauty. If Alena was the cool beauty type, she would be the seductive type. What unique about her was that her hair had white flame burning at the end, and she had two cute fox ears on her head. Her name was Alexis, one of the five monster guardians.

Alexis was a monster from the combination of a fire elemental and a nine tails fox. She used to be hunted because of her beauty and rarity. As a result she hated all living beings. Beside the overlord and the monsters serving him, she viewed everyone else as worse than insects.

“Alexis, please let go of me.” Kurai commanded.

“Yes, master….” She reluctantly let go. Alena, however, was glaring at her from behind the throne.

‘What’s up with her?? Was she always this way in the game?’ Right now, her attitude was like a slut to him. Taking a look at the slightly panting and red face woman in front of him, Kurai used ‘Observe’ on her.

‘So she’s a slutty fox!? Such strong stats for a pervert too.’ What Kurai did not know was that Alexis was only like that to him. Toward others, she had an ice cold attitude.

While rubbing his forehead in annoyance, Kurai heard another voice sounded through the room. This time, it was a male voice, but its tone was low and raspy, like an extremely old man.

“How many time we have to tell you not to treat master like a stuff animal, Alexis?”

“Stay out of my business, Tengai.” Alexis’s tone was cold.

Tengai looked like one of those old martial artist in a Chinese novel. He wore a long white rope with cloud symbols on it. His eyes were sharp and dark. He also cultivated for himself a long white beard that would not lose to any old man. On his hand was a fan made of some type of white feathers. Overall, his look could either be compared to a kind grandfather or a genius strategist in any Dynasty Warriors games.

Although frail looking, Tengai boasted the best defense out of all the guardians. This was due to his natural talent in creating barriers. He was a mix of the legendary beast ‘Green Turtle’ and demi-god bird ‘White Tengai’, giving him more available mana and strong power in defense.

“I have arrived, Kodomo-sama.” Yet another voice rang out.

This time, the guardian speaking did not have a human form. He was almost as big as the stone door of the throne room. He had four arms and two faces. Both of the faces were covered with masks. One showed a happy clown face, while the other was a raging demon god. His body was muscular and was donned with black steel armor. His weapons were the four spears on his back. If someone was to take a look, he would notice that all four spears were legendary artifacts that could buy an empire.

The guardian name was Kreig. Out of all the guardians, he had the strongest physical ability. However, he was a silent type, responding only to his master. Although, his attitude had gotten better, to a point where he can make small conversation with other guardians. Out of all the guardians, he was the only one with a mysterious origin, even the skill ‘Observe’ can only show his stats but not his race or bloodlines. Kreig had split personality. Normally he would be shy and quiet, but when he was angry, his other face would spin around, and a massacre would occur.

“Hello, Tengai and Kreig, good to have you two back.”

“This one is ready to serve you again master.” Tengai said while bowing his head.

“Yes, master.” Kreig walked to his place after a short response.

Almost all of the guardians had arrived, and everyone was waiting for the last one, the most royal and possibly strongest guardian. He bore the same bloodlines as his master, a combination of demon and dragon, except human. He had been with Kurai the longest, the overlord’s first companion. Although he was kind of slow and weak in physical strength when compared with other guardians, his magic was almost as strong as Kurai, allowing him to nuke anyone from thousands of miles away.

“Master, I had waited five thousand years for your return, and finally my dream has come true.”

A young man stood at the throne room’s doors. He was exceedingly handsome, a head of flaming red hair with two dragon horns curving out. His body height was around 190 cm, and his body was packed with muscles. He wore a black coat that reached the floor. If one was too look at him, he would think this person as the overlord of monsters himself, or a very attractive demon king. His voice, however, did not match his appearance, for it was shaking and brimming with joy.

“I’m back, Hellion.”

I am so lazy to write since this is the first time I am writing any kind of fiction this big. Sorry for the wait! Reading the comments and ratings of you guys really motivates me to write more. Thank you for your support. BTW I know I do not proofread this because it’s like over 1.5k words lol, so if there are grammatical errors please understand. I will try to make it readable though LOL.
