On the morning after the shared shower experience, Rae had arisen early, for once, and had skillfully prepared the Aliens for their first day of school. He had managed to sneak them aboard the bus with no one being any the wiser. The sounds of an engine traveling away from the Boys' ears, and the sight of the school before them, introduced the newly formed Trio to their first real adventure.
The fifty step staircase of West Roan High School cascaded upwards towards a plaza resting just before a large multi-story brick building. For a school, the building was very large, as all Roan schools were. The city had a population of over 1 million people including all the suburban areas, but it had less than a dozen schools for each age group. Even still, of all the High Schools in the city, West Roan was the largest.
Rae's Senior Class alone numbered slightly over two thousand, 17-year to 19-year old students. Two thousand potential problems to expose Rae's new found friends.
As he started up the large set of stairs towards the plaza, he took a few peeks over towards Dasnir and Fulbrik, clad in their gifted hoodies. He had instructed them to maintain their distance, until some time had passed, so as to make their eventual public meeting more realistic. But for someone whose character and history were like Rae's, the tendency to think about possible bad events which could occur is often irresistible.
Rae sighed, and thought to himself. "Ok, we got here intact. Nothing bad's happened —yet. Just relax Rae, and hold it together; you can do this."
Just as Rae landed his last step onto the plaza, he felt a familiar arm wrap around his shoulders...
"Rae, I missed you!" Abigail exclaimed, as she clung to her hooded friend.
"Ahaaaha! Abi, I told you not to sneak up on me like that, what the fuck." Rae said, as he nearly jumped off the ground.
"Heehee... I couldn't resist. I haven't seen you in weeks." Abigail pushed her cheeks up against Rae's face like a cat marking it's human. "I wish my parents would have let you come with us to Ellis Gorge. What did you get up to while I was gone?"
The lanky 5'10 (177.8 cm) girl hung off of Rae, exuberantly rocking him side to side, as they walked towards the school building. Abigail was a nerdy kind of girl with sun-kissed skin, black hair with pastel-pink highlights, and angled glasses which framed her blue-green eyes, as well as a penchant for wearing horizontal or vertical striped shirts and cardigans.
"How do I even begin to answer that?" Rae wondered. "What do I even say to her? Fucking hell! I didn't even think about seeing her because I was distracted with Aliens... I can't tell her I tried to kill myself... or about the Aliens, at least not yet."
"Heh... You know, I just worked myself to the bone, grabbing that extra-hours cash during the summer. You know it's not so bad, I couldn't go with you. I managed to get a lot more money saved up for this year. But I missed you too." Rae said, as he flashed a half-hearted smile.
"Something seems off..." Abigail thought, trying not to look worried. "What the— is he lying to me? Rae NEVER lies to me. He knows he's bad at it, cause he's so nervous. What could he possibly be hiding???"
"Oh... well I'm glad—" Abigail said. She had just seen the enormous Fulbrik standing out of the crowd of students like a sore thumb. "Rae, do you see that? Who is that?! That guy is huge... and kind of dreamy, look at his Jaw omg! I wonder if he's a transfer student?" She pointed past Rae towards the large Alien.
"Abi! It's kind of rude to point at someone new don't you think?"

"You worry too much Rae. Damn he's totally out of my league, unless he secretly likes nerdy girls."
"You never know..." Rae said, as he smirked looking down at the ground.
"So let me see your classes! I wonder if we have anything together this semester?" Abigail said, changing the subject and grabbing Rae's class sheet from his hand. "Yay! We got the same Biology class together. Think of all the frogs we get to dissect?!"
"I'd rather not..."
"All the better you're with me! I know you're a bit squeamish about guts. That means I get double the frogs baby!"
Abigail had been planning to attend a nursing school for some time now... close by to Aero-Romas.
Shortly then after, the two reunited besties said their short goodbyes, and Rae found himself sitting in the back of his Trigonometry class.
"Ehem... Alright students," began Mr. Moore, the Math teacher, "find your seats, now. And put away your phones, if I see them out during class... Well, I'm sure you all heard what happened to a certain Bobby Fischburn's phone last year..." His eyes narrowed as he set the tone for discipline in his classroom.
"Ugh dammit to fucking hell," Rae thought. "That jackass Paul stole the seat next to me, probably so he could cheat off my tests. Now they're stuck on the other side of the room. I told them to be quick!" Rae held his head as he glanced across the room to his separated companions. "Although it's kind of hilarious seeing Fuly crammed into that desk. Haha"
And so the classes proceeded one after another, and Rae was distracted during them all; though, he was not nearly as bored as a certain Prince.
Dasnir looked particularly displeased as they sat down to lunch in the cafeteria. "I hate this," the Prince said, as he folded his arms, "can't we hide elsewhere?"
"You just got here, give it a chance. If you were to just wander around in public you could get caught." Rae whispered to the Aliens.
Fulbrik leaned into their conversation. "I concur with Rae, we must not be seen, and this is a good hiding place. No one has indicated any suspicion of us yet. Even when you were forced to answer that question in Literature class, Young Master."
"We are wasting time," the Prince complained, as he eyed the Salisbury Steak at the end of his fork, "we should just leave here and search for the weapon."
"Weapon?" Rae asked, raising his left eye brow and twitching his ear.
"Hmmph..." Dasnir responded, with only a muffled noise of discontentment straight through the meat in his mouth.
"Rae," Fulbrick piped up, to answer in the Prince's place, " you may recall I mentioned to you that we were looking for something before. To be more precise it is an anci—" Fulbrik paused, as someone walked by them, then continued quieter, "We were informed of an Ancient Weapon that should be here somewhere on your world. That is what we came looking for..." his whisper trailed off as another student walked by. "Ahaha! This is such excellent meat product!" Fulbrik said aloud, thinking this was a clever way to pretend they were not discussing an Ancient Alien Weapon.
Rae palmed his face, his ear twitched under his hood, and he peered through his fingers at the kids who had turned to look at the awkward alien.
"What the fuck, dude?" Rae said through his teeth. "What did I tell you about im-pro-vis-ing?"
"Did I improvise poorly?" Fulbrik frowned realizing his mistake.
"Yes, just keep it down. Luckily you look like a Chad, and you're built like a brick-shit-house so no one is going to mess with you anyways." Rae said quietly.
He held a face with a hint of jealousy, as his classmates quickly disregarded the strange outburst from the hidden handsome Alien.
"Ugh, beautiful people really can get away with anything," Rae thought, as he aggressively stabbed his chicken nuggets.
In total, the Boys' first day at school went rather well and uneventfully smooth. Rae thought it was, perhaps, too smooth as he laid his book-bag down on the floor of the shed that evening.
Rae let out a small sigh. "Well we made it through, but we still need to find a way for you guys to get out of this shed. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep Jamie from coming in here. It'd be good if we could book you a hotel room or something, but I can't really afford to do that."
"Ah yes! About that Sir Rae," Fulbrik said, seemingly adding the "Sir" like he had been in agony all day, "I have been studying your Terran currency and well," he flicked on his glowy green bracer, "I believe I may have a solution to that predicament at least."
