I'm finally finish! Yay!!! This chapter was part of the original chapter 4, but I decided to split them as the content within them was too massive for just a single chapter. Hence, that was why I managed to complete this relatively early. Again, thank you very much to the all support you have given on this series.
Also, I'll leave a poll on this chapter to hear all of your guys opinion. With everything going on, my mind is a bit jumble, so I'm having a difficult time planning out where I want to take the story. With the poll, I can get a general idea on where to take the story.
If you like the chapter or just have a witty comment, do be sure to write it down. Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 5- A bit of payback.
And done!” Kouta loudly exclaimed, finishing the task assigned to fine. Since school ended, Kouta worked to cleaned up some of the facility room’s and delivering materials to the staff. Finishing his choirs, Kouta finally had a chance stretch and relax.
‘Kuro’s probably waiting at home. So I better…’ Before Kouta could finish her thoughts, Rin was making her towards him. From how she walked, she was desperate.
“Kouta!” Speaking his name, Rin grabbed Kouta by the shoulder. “Is it safe to speak?” she asked, while glancing back and forth.
“….Uhh, yeah.” Kouta weakly replied back, unsure of what Rin meant.
“Good.” Letting out a sigh of relief, Rin began to converse with Kouta. “Can you make Kuro remove this curse?”
“I’ve tried asking her but she said the only way she would if you get on your knees and beg for forgiveness.” Answered Kouta.
“That little demon!” Clenching her fist, her face contorted in rage. “Like hell I’m going to stoop so long as to get on my knees!”
“Easy, easy…” Kouta was trying his best to calm Rin down. “It’s true that she may seem selfish but I’m sure, if you apologize earnestly, she’ll remove it.”
Making a sour face, Rin turned away from Kouta. The two stood in silent before Rin remembered the other reason for meeting Kouta. “That reminds me, do you know where Kuro is?”
“I think she’s at home. Why do you ask?” questioned Kouta, confused by the questions presented to him.
“Well, on my way here, I happen to saw a group of girls walking towards the Old school building just behind ours. What was stranger was that they were carrying Kuro. So I thought of informing you first and then the teachers.” Telling the Kouta the whole story, there was something wrong with the picture.
Immediately alarmed bell rang in his head. “Rin, don’t call the teacher. Let me handle this.”
“Wait what? What do you mean?” Rin asked back, this time the one unsure about everything.
“Rin…Do you really think that a bunch of high school girls managed to knock out Kuro? Death herself?” Raising the question, Rin understood what he was trying to convey. “I don’t know what Kuro is up to, but it probably can’t be good. Just leave everything to me.”
Running without saying another word, Rin was conflicted on what to do. On one hand, she wanted to lend a helping hand. Knowing Kuro's personalty, it might get messy. But another part of her said to leave it to Kouta. Settling down, she decided to trust Kouta and let him go.
****************
Behind Makoto high schools lies an old and decrepit school that was the original Makoto high school. The school has been around for many years, and to this day remains standing. With such a relic, many stories and intrigue spawned from such an area. The old building lies a fair distance away from the new Makoto high school, so walked was possible.
Inside the building, most of it was cleared out. So all that was left was a dirty empty building. Inside one of the room were the girls that kidnapped Kuro and Kuro herself, whom was still knocked out. Waiting inside the building, everyone was starting to get a bit cold feet. Each second became a grueling hour of wait.
‘Did she stood us up?’ The leader wondered, only to have her question answered.
“Whoa, this place really is old.” Hearing an excited voice, all the girls jumped up. Slowly six people made their way in, all of which were guys.
“You are…” The leader’s voice trailed off, realizing who it was that came. They each for a uniform similar to one another, how each one was disheveled. She recognized the uniform to be a neighboring school to theirs. What caught her off the most were who they were, she easily recognized them as delinquents, whom had a reputation to them.
“Not only does She have control over our school, but others as well? How frightening.” A hint of fear and respect could be heard in the leader’s voice when speaking of Her.
“Yo, are you the girl we were supposed to meet?” Calling out the leader, a man with long blond hair introduced himself. No doubt the leader of his merry band of misfits.
“That’s correct. I’m guessing you were called in by Her?” Double checking to see it was true, the blond leader smiled. “That’s correct. Now then, where is the girl?” pointing to the corner of the room, they all walked over to catch a glimpse of Kuro.
“Wow, check it. It’s like she’s a doll or something.” One of them commented.
“Alright, let’s get to it.” Said the blonde leader, trying to take off his pants.
“What do you think you’re doing?!” the female leader cried, interrupting them all.
“What do you mean? This is what you wanted right?”
“Of course not! The deal was to have you harass and bully her.”
“Well that’s not what she said.” Replied back the blonde leader. Looking to his friends, they all burst out laughing. “Does it really matter? Either way, we’ll make sure she learns her lesson.” Bringing his attention back to Kuro, he was halted once again by the female leader.
“This isn’t what we agreed upon! We agreed to help her teach her a lesson in respecting others. I never said anything about truly hurting or raping her!”
“My god, shut up.” Smacking her, she hit the ground with a thud. Without pause, the blond leader picked her up by her hair. “Listen, don’t try and act all high and mighty. You’re the one who originally wanted this? You’re just as guilty. Anyway, She gave us clear instructions.” Dropping her head down, tears began to swell in her eyes. No matter how much she wanted to argue, he was right.
The other girls rushed to her to help her. The delinquents maintained a perimeter, making sure the girls stayed where they are. Just as all hope seemed lost, a voice called out.
“You know, it’s very rude to hit a girl.” Hearing yet another mysterious voice, everyone turned to see Kouta walking up the steps. “Kouta!” All the girls screamed, happy at his presence.
Casting his gaze across the room, he quietly observe the situation. With Kouta in the picture, all the guys’ attention shifted to Kouta. Staring back at them all, Kouta calmly walked forward to confront them.
“I don’t know who you are or why you’re here, but I will give this one warning. Leave now before you regret it.” Speaking up, it sounded as if Kouta was threatening them. Glancing to one another, they all began to chuckle.
When comparing them to Kouta, they couldn’t help but laugh. In his uniform, he had no visible muscle present and looked rather scrawny. Taking a couple steps forward, the blonde leader stood face with Kouta. Staring one another down, the two refused to back off.
“Or else what?” The blonde leader asked.
“Or else I’l--“ Kouta was unable to finish his sentence as a sensation hit his right cheek and spread through his face. Pain. As Kouta was preoccupied, he landed a quick right jab at his face. The blonde leader had a reputation for being a quick fighter. He was so fast that he could land a quick jab in a second.
Kouta never knew what hit him as he took the hit and staggered back. ‘Too easy’ the leader thought to himself, seeing the same sight over and over again. The girls screamed became one as they too couldn’t register what had just happen. However in a shocking turn of events, something happened that one expected.
Just as the blonde leader was turning away, he was instantly meet with a fist to the face. And it was none other than Kouta the delivered the blow. Unprepared, he took the full blunt on Kouta’s attack and staggered backwards.
“You know it’s rude to suddenly cut a person off like that.” Speaking up, Kouta spoke in a calm manner, unfazed by the blonde leader original attack. Blowing out a snout of blood, aside from that. Kouta was perfectly fine.
Looking back at the delinquents, they were helping their friend up. They all stared back at Kouta with utter disbelief. They’ve been in fights plenty of times, but never before have had they experienced something like this.
The blonde leader clutch his nose, blood trickled down his hand. “You…fucker!” The blonde leader cursed, an immense hatred could be seen in his eyes. Unfazed by his stare, Kouta calmly tried to talk them out of it. “This is your last chance, give up or else.”
“Like hell we are!” On his command, his friends spread out and surrounded Kouta. It looked like that a fight was about to break out one way or another. It was 6 to 1, but despite those odds, Kouta didn’t look concern one it.
‘Why couldn’t we do this the easy way’ Kouta lamented, while taking a fighting stance. Seeing that they have superior number, they charged in without hesitation. Expecting an easy win and victory.
“Ahh!” One of them screamed, throwing a punch at Kouta. However, Kouta surprised everyone yet again. Dodging the side, he used his foot to trip the man. Following suit, another tried to land a blow on Kouta only to fail as well.
Parrying the punch with his arm, Kouta counter attack with a punch straight to the gut. Sending him backwards, the rest remained still. Unable to fathom what had just happen. The man that they thought was weak just took down two of them in less than a few seconds.
He could already tell the questions screaming in their mind. ‘Just how is he so strong?!’ And the answer to that is quite simple. Kouta took self-defense courses to learn how to fight back. From Karate to Ti quan do to wrestling and martial arts. The reason for this was because Kouta intended to use this against Kuro once upon a time.
Back when Kuro first began killing Kouta, he was unable to bear it any longer and seek ways of defending and fighting back. So Kouta took lessons on any and everything that he could to defend against Kuro. He soon came to master the arts he learned.
However, in the end they all meant nothing when it came to Kuro. The lessons he learned were effective against defending and countering opponent. Only, if they were in front of you. For Kuro, whom could appear and disappear in an instant. It was useless against her. And even then, she always go for surprise attacks, leaving no room for Kouta to fully counter attack.
Despite being a waste of time, the lesson still proved useful in common day to day life.
Getting back to the story:
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Watching their friends being knocked around, the delinquents disregarded any form of planning and simply opted for the strategy of attacking Kouta head on. Charging forward, Kouta and the delinquents fought bare knuckles.
Although Kouta knew how to properly fight back, with superior number, anyone could still lose. But that fact meant little to Kouta. For every punch inflicted on Kouta, he in turn returned an attack. This went on for several minutes of none stop action. Sustaining so many punches would put Kouta in a near unconscious state.
But there was one more factor to consider, his regenerative ability. With his soul being bonded to Kuro, Kouta is immortal and all wounds, no matter how severe will heal. Over the many years Kuro and Kouta were together, he had taken a lot of punishment. Anything and everything a person can imagine, he had died from it.
Experiencing death on a daily basis, Kouta slowly adapted. His pain receptor grew and adapted to the pain she would inflict. Eventually, Kouta develop a very high pain tolerance. Compared to the Kuro constant stabbing, the delinquents punch were like light taps to Kouta. Effectively, he was like a living zombie.
With near endless endurance and stamina, Kouta continued to fight back despite all the injuries he took. It didn’t take long before their ‘fight’ was near its end. Each one of the delinquents were out of breath and tired. While Kouta hadn’t as much as break out in a sweat!
They all glared at Kouta with complete distain. They were losing, they outnumbered him and yet, they were still losing! Nearing the end of their patience, one grabbed a piece of old wood from the room and hit Kouta over the head with a surprise attack.
A loud cracking noise filled the air, as Kouta was in the process of falling over. A cruel smile emerged on the assaulter’s face. This time, they had got him good! Their victory was cut short yet again by Kouta. Just before he hit the ground, he stopped himself from falling.
He stopped in an odd position, his body leaning back, as if he was stretching his stomach out. Slowly, he moved his body to stand straight up. It was like watching a zombie rising from the ground. It was an eerie sight for everyone to behold.
“That hurt.” A complaint could be heard from Kouta, stared back at the delinquents. The attack did more damage than he thought. Blood trickled down his face, creating a smear. By now the wound had heal, but the other didn’t know that.
“He’s injured! Kicking while he’s down.” Re-organizing his friends, they all charged at Kouta. Believing this would be the end. Again, it wasn’t so simple. Meeting them head on, Kouta provided to be more of a hassle than before.
The delinquents took the blonde leader’s lead and attacked with the rotten wood planks. But no matter how hard they swung and hit Kouta, he wouldn’t go down. And seeing as they weren’t holding and punches, so too did Kouta followed suit.
Each punch held more stopping power and force behind it. Knocking back each and every one of them. The fight finally stopped when all the delinquents were lying on the ground. Groaning in pain while Kouta was the only one standing.
Standing in silent, Kouta took a second to catch his breath. “Kouta!” breaking the silence, the girls rushed towards him. Each showed a concerned face. They all express their worries and wanted to treat his injuries. Reassuring that he was fine, Kouta turned his attention to Kuro. Whom lied in the same spot.
“You’re dead!” Distracted, a yell reverberated across the room. Turning just in time, Kouta came into view of the blonde leader. Waiting for a chance to strike, he attack when Kouta had his back turn. Taking out a pocket knife, he was fully intended on stabbing Kouta.
Just as the sharp blade came to close to making contact, a noise faster than the ear can track cut through the air. In less than a second, the blade was gone. Dumbfoundingly, he stared at his pocketknife that looked to be cut. Its blade gone, lodged into one of the wall.
“The only one that is allow to attack Kouta from behind is me!!” The perpetrator turned out to be none other than Kuro. In her hand was her knife. She had cut through his pocket knife like butter, neutering his weapon.
Taking a step back in fear, Kuro didn’t let him go. Dashing forward, she knee him in the face! Smacking him down, Kuro sat upon the blonde leader. With her two knife in hand, she started to stab downward in rapid succession.
“He’s mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mime! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mime!Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mime! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mime! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!”
Screaming at the top of her lungs, she stab and stab and stab without showing any sign of stopping. Everyone that watched from afar, watched in horror at what was happening before them. Finally she stopped and stood back up. To Kouta surprise, the blonde delinquents was still alive.
Kuro had stab around his head. She attack with such furiously that the ply wood was completely destroyed in where he laid. “He’s mine. Do you hear me? If you understand me, then you better leave.” A look of utter insanity and disdain blanked her face. For a split second, her disguise shifted revealing her true face. Waving her knife in his face, the blonde leader struggled to escape and stand back up. He and his friend fled with their tails between the leg.
With the delinquents gone, it was only Kuro, Kouta and girls left. Steadily, Kuro shifted her gaze to the girls, who were cowering in fear. Striding towards them, the girls panic as Kuro held out her knives. An evil smile on her face, ready to cut them up.
Before she could do anything, Kouta intervened again. “Quit it Kuro.” Bopping her on the head, Kuro stopped. Looking back to the girls, they were shaking like little animals. Before either of them could act, the leader of the girls clung to Kouta leg.
“I’m sorry!” she cried. “We…I…didn’t mean….” Pleading, Kouta managed to calm her down. For the next minute or so, they explained everything to Kouta and Kuro. In the end, they were all ashamed.
“So in the end you all were just jealous?” Kuro spoke in a menacing voice, making them shudder all over again.
“Stop it. Well it’s not like I don’t completely understand where you are coming from. Anyway if you sincerely apologize, and put this whole predicament behind us, I’ll forgive you. ”
“We’re sorry!” Bowing their heads, they all apologize.
“Good, your turn Kuro.”
“What?! Why me?” yelped Kuro, unsure why she had to apologize.
“Because you’re at fault at well. This wouldn’t be happening if you treated everyone with respect. And I too and responsible for not enforcing it. Now apologize.” Leaving no room to argue, Kuro did as she was told.
“I-I’m sorry…” Grumbling, she apologized. However her words were forced and hollow, but it was a start. Satisfied, the girls left, leaving only Kuro and Kouta to remain behind.
“Now that, that is taken care of. What were you planning Kuro?” Kouta asked as the two walked out.
“Whatever could you mean?” Kuro answered back.
“You know what I mean. You let yourself get caught on purpose didn’t you? What were you planning?” Seeing through her motives, Kuro had no choice but to answer back.
“Fine, fine. I knew that a small group held a grudge. So I decided to play along to see what would happen. I would then at the last moment reveal myself and punish them all. Of course I wouldn’t physically hurt them…well not a lot anyway. That was the plan, until you came my knight in shining armor!”
Clinging to his arm, Kuro eagerly embraced Kouta. “I figured as much…” sighed Kouta, hitting the nail on the head. Kouta gave a silent prayer that he intervened before could have her way with them.
“But if you knew my intention then why did you jump in?” This time Kuro was the one who asked the question. For once, Kouta was unsure of how to answer back.
“Well….I was worried.” Kouta answered back, turning his head away in embarrassment. Deep down, when she heard that Kuro was kidnapped, he panicked. Despite knowing that she could handle herself, Kouta couldn’t help but worry about her.
Looking back, Kuro’s arm slightly trembled as she clung to his arm. Her mouth too was shaky, an odd smile began to form. A red blush covered her cheeks. It was clear that she was happy. “Can you repeat that?” she asked.
“No…”
“Come on~ Pleaseeeee!”
“No…you already heard it…”
“Say it again.”
Arguing back and forth, the two playfully fought one another. Blissfully unaware that someone was spying on them. Overlooking the old school building, a lone individual was sitting up on the roof top. Watching the whole event unfold.
“Tchh, useless as always.” The mysterious stranger click her tongue. A look of annoyance crossed her face as she watched the delinquents run away like scared little girls. Looking back down at Kouta, her annoyance faded as she bask in the sight before her. She was among the few to witness Kouta fighting back. Just thinking about how Kouta fought back against such impossible odd, electrocuted her body with excitement.
“Well this day wasn’t that much of a failure. Although, I would have liked for that pipsqueak to suffer.” The pipsqueak she was referring to was in fact Kuro. Cuddling her own body, she watched them as they slowly disappeared. Sighing, there was nothing left to do. Standing and stretching, a pair of darken wings extended from her back.
Staring back at Kouta and Kuro, a sinister smile grew on her face. “Just you wait my dear Kouta. You’ll be mine, one way or another.” Licking her lips in anticipation, she disappeared, flying away.
