Chapter 16: The Mogo

Chapter 16: The Mogo

"So let me get this straight, You want me to offer up the solution i've researched for half my life to this boy I barely met today" Mogo laughed hysterically.

"Yes, that is exactly what I am asking of you" George replied with no sense of shame.

Mogo stared weirdly at George, not seeming to recognize the man that stood in front of him.

"Are you really the same cynnical George that I knew from the past" Mogo asked weirdly.

"Am I acting any different than how I usually act" George asked back.

"Well, not to mention the fact that your traveling with two human kids. You are really not the kind of guy to help out people you don't know to this extend" Mogo explained.

"People change" George replied vaguely.

"Not to this extend" Mogo fired back.

Seeing the interaction between the two that he thought were long time buddies being a bit off, Edgar moved to get Mogo's attention.

"If you help me. I w-will do everything in my Power to pay you back!" Edgar exclaimed interrupting the two old mans conversation.

"Do you think you have what it takes to pay me back" Mogo asked as he turned to lock eyes with the young man.

"I....I will try my best" Edgar said as he gathered his conviction.

"Don't Try, DO IT!" Mogo shouted as a beastly aura erupted from his small body, shocking the young boy.

Edgar was greatly shocked by the sudden eruption of aura that oozed from the old dwarfs body as he slightly took a step back. The aura was so ferocious and deathly that it caused Clara to whimper and made George frown. Just when the thought of turning and running away crept up into Edgar's mind, he remembered the events of yesterday.

"And what will you do to those who threaten to take away what you consider precious?"

"I WILL KILL THEM ALL WITHOUT MERCY!!"

Recalling the conviction he had yesterday that drove him to take the life of another for the first time caused Edgar to come to a still. The promise he made that day made Edgar want to curse himself for being so weak and cowardly when confronted with this beastly aura. Managing to finally reclaim his conviction, Edgar took a step forward as he walked towards Mogo who was emenating a ferocious aura directly towards him.

Seeing the young man's conviciton, Mogo lifted up his neck as his eyes gave off a red glint while his hidden muscles bulged out of his black leather vest. Mogo's action caused his aura to spike as it started shaking the very shop they were in as if it was an earthquake. Even Clara started panicking as she casted *[Air Dome]* over herself protecting her from the earthquake, meanwhile George just stood calmy as he watched Edgar.

Feeling the pressure on him intensify Edgar started to sweat buckets as his knees threaten to bend. But not willing to give up, Edgar made each step despite the pressure getting stronger the nearer he went towards Mogo, who was staring him down in disdain.

This is nothing compared to all the times I've been beaten when scavenging for food

Edgars vision started to blur as he got closer, a voice seemed to tempt him to just fall asleep from all the stress that was being placed on him. But he did not give in as he continued to move ever so slowly towards Mogo who's facial expression seem to soften the closer Edgar got to him. Minutes passed as the shop continued shaking causing all the items inside to fall and make a big mess on the ground. Eventually the shaking stopped as the young boy tumbled into the old dwarfs arms as he spoke.

"i...s t.his e-nough" Edgar whispered to the old dwarf as he leaned on him.

"More than" Mogo smiled as he padded the young boy's back.

Smiling, Edgar head fell as he passed out from all the stress that had piled up on his body was finally gone.

On the walls of the City of Ars, stood a group in black armor as they looked out towards the arrid landscape that headed towards Navar.

"Is this the way they went, Lord Blaine?" one of them asked looking at the one who seemed like the leader.

"Yes it is, Lord Hans" Lord Blaine replied.

"To think a disgusting Elf would dare enter the Pure Kingdom of Ortus" Lord Hans scoffed.

"Curb your tongue Hans, We are heading to Navar and there will be plenty of Foreign Races amongst them" a lady in a tight fit black armor remarked.

"Lady Mave, You've never been one to partake in such tasks yet here you are" Hans stated.

"The Elfen Treasury is too enticing for me to just gloss over, Lord Hans" Lady Mave smiled.

"Lady Mave is correct. We should not show hostility towards the Foreign Races when we arrive in Navar or we might attract unwanted attention to ourselfs" Lord Blaine suggested to the group.

"No wonder the Navarians are so pathetic. They dare walk alongside such wretched beings" Lord Hans snorted in disdain.

"Only we Ortusians understand the threat that foreign races represent in a Human Kingdom" another man in black added.

"Enough with all this racial discrimination, I came for one purpose and that is to get information on Saint Carona" a man with wild brown hair and lion eyes interrupted.

"hmph How long will you obsess over this woman, Lionel" Lord Hans scoffed.

"Watch your words carefully Hans, lest it be your last" Lionel warned.

"Try it you damn barbarian" Hans retorted, gripping the hilt of his sword that was still in its scabbard.

"Tsk Men, always so quick to anger" Lady Mave laughed.

"SILENCE!" Lord Blaine exclaimed.

The abrupt shout suprised the two as they turned to focus their attention on Lord Blaine. But their suprise soon turned into that of anger.

"Lord Blaine, I suggest you not mistake me for one of your subordiantes" Lord Hans warned gravely.

"Henrick, I am only here for intel, So do not think you can order me around, for only the King and the Guardians have that right" Lionel added.

"My mistake. I apologize Lord Hans and Lord Cleven" Henrick bowed to show his sincerity before walking down the wall and heading towards a nearby inn that was being occupied by his expidition force.

Going inside the room that was for me, Henrick bumped into Jean.

"Lord Blaine, What is the matter" Jean asked as he noticed a frown on Henricks face.

"Those scoundrels respect no one other than the King and the Guardians, yet I am tasked to lead them to Navar to capture an Elfen Shadow Lord and return without incident" Lord Blaine complained about the absurdity of the situation.

"Lord Blaine, I am sure they all respect you greatly but their pride won't let them show it lest they be seen as weak" Jean persuaded.

"I guess you might be right" Lord Blaine laughed.

"By the way a visitor came by while you all were away to ask for a favor" Jean suddenly brought up.

"Who is it?" Lord Blaine asked Curiously.

"It was Joseph Clad!" Jean reported.
