The FORESHADOW

Who is the Foreshadow?

This is the reportive journalism known under the Alias as The Mad Hatter and I am here to share the news discovered through my personal expense the exhaustive investigation to find which of the following possibilities are actually the truth.

* Was she the mutated spawn of some unfortunate owl bears?

* Was she the abomination that a mad Alchemist cooked up creating a fusion of humanoid and animals?

* Was she left here by some extra-planar entities?

I acquired an interview with the Gladiator FORESHADOW. Through my in-depth reporting with my breaking story for FORESHADOW’s friend Ira the Indomitable; the sensational story of an overbearing father (Rokas) who didn’t approve of his daughters taste in friends… Please refer to “Battle Pit Princess Issue # 202.” Where you can learn more about the dynamics of Sharie and Rokas in the battle pits. Remember this included the covering of why Indomitable Ira left the arena.

The FORESHADOW is a woman of few words. In our interview I discovered that the origins of of her parentage are unclear, but she was at one time part of a family of OWL BEARS. She was adopted by owl bears they brought her into their flock and considered her one of their own.

The FORESHADOW demonstrated her capability of speaking in the uncommon tongue of Owl Bear; my translator, who accompanies me on all interviews, was astonished in how fluent the FORESHADOW spoke such an uncommon language.

A calm unlike any other time in the interview fell upon the FORESHADOW whilst she spoke of her time with her owl bear family. Her guard had fallen revealing a glimpse of her true age, enough that I struck out to inquire how old she was. Always a dangerous proposition trying to inquire the age of women… That is right, we can reveal to our small corner of the world that this feral fighter, the FORESHADOW is in fact eight years old. Sorry to our theorists, but it appears that she is not some halfling hybrid.

This impressive fighter, so young, had quite the shift of expression when she spoke of the abduction from her family. I know this may put many people on edge, but the description of her abductors are that of people who curiously resemble to here to known adventuring party, “Second Chance.” Yes, the famous group of adventures given a second chance of thieves and ne'er-do-wells that supposedly turned over a new leaf. Could the rumor of them turning over their ill gotten gains to benefit society be nothing more than heresay? Are these new “saints”; ruffians in disguise? That is a question for a future issue…

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Now back to our story at hand… The FORESHADOW or Miss Shadow as I will now henceforth refer to her as was abducted from her family and placed in the Battle pits where she learned from the fighters here in Malimore. When she was brought to the city away from her family her feral nature made her not suitable for being sent to an orphanage. She was for all intents and purposes a wild child completely uncivilized. The fighting pit arena was a place for her to channel her rage and keep her from hurting the public at large. Her fury from losing her family and being thrust into a very different world.

As we all know she started her rise to fame when Ira the Indomitable disappeared after her intense bout with Lovely Levea the barbarian woman who frequents the arena. With Ira gone Sharie or the Battle Pit Princess, as some of you know her better as, was in severe depression at the loss of her bosom buddy Ira left lonely. Sharie sponsored Miss Shadow. (Sources that say that allowing Sharie to sponsor Miss Shadow was Rokas interference to soothe Sharie’s sadness are neither here nor there.) Sharie created an ironic stage-name/visage for Miss Shadow. Sharie had been the first to give Miss Shadow the name the FORESHADOW. If you place the name the FORESHADOW versus the image of the gallant knight that is Miss Shadow’s it creates quite the juxtaposition. It is true that the armor is all smoke and mirrors and only implies protection it is little more than costume.

Initially Miss Shadow was placed in fights against easy enemies, but it was quickly prevalent that she could handle her own and the quirk of the cryptic name and absolutely adorable visage has created a bit of a cult following. She is now participating in full weapon fights that sometime leads to crushing destruction of careers.

It is true that there has been a change within Miss Shadow. All we know is that Miss Shadow had a fire lit under her when she heard about a flock of Owl Bears, with a peculiar feather pattern, that have been participating in Artilon circuses. She has been fighting more enthusiastically to end her contract with Rokas’ fighting pit.

Is this for her long gone family? Will this young battler leave our stage? More in the Next issue of Tenebrous Tabloids here in the city of Malimore. This is the Mad Hatter and as always I am pleased to share the news and current events with you.
