After finishing their meal, Hiroshi and Miyu walked through the mall, ready to leave. The rain had finally stopped, and the afternoon sun peeked through the clouds. But just as they stepped outside, a guy stepped in front of Miyu, blocking her path.
“Hey cutie,” the guy said with a confident smirk. “What’s your name? Can I get your number, baby?”
Miyu recoiled slightly, her face showing clear disgust. “I… u-uhm…”
Before she could respond, the guy—whose name was apparently Lenin—leaned in closer. “C’mon, baby. You know you want to. You’re single, right?”
Miyu froze, her mind racing. Desperately, she glanced at Hiroshi before grabbing his arm and pulling him close. “Uhm, no! I’m not single! I’m actually with him,” she said, clinging to Hiroshi’s arm like her life depended on it.
Hiroshi blinked in surprise, but he quickly caught on. “Y-yeah! That’s right. We’re… uh, we’re even planning to get married soon, so… uh, better luck next time!” He wrapped an arm around Miyu, pulling her into a hug for extra effect.
Lenin raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. “Yeah, right. I’ve seen this act before. If you’re really a couple, then… how about a kiss? You can do that, right?”
Miyu’s face turned a deep shade of red. “U-uhm, that’s easy! Right, b-babe?” She looked at Hiroshi, hoping he’d go along with it.

Hiroshi’s face matched her blush as he stammered, “Y-yeah! Obviously! We’re… totally a couple!” But in his mind, panic set in. Am I really gonna kiss Miyu?
Before Hiroshi could think any further, Miyu had already leaned in, her face inches from his. And just like that, her lips pressed against his.
Hiroshi froze, his mind blank as his first kiss played out in slow motion.
Miyu pulled away quickly, her face a mix of embarrassment and defiance. “S-see? N-no problem…” she said, her voice shaky.
Lenin, finally convinced, raised his hands in surrender. “Alright, alright, I believe you. I’m outta here.” He turned and walked away, leaving the two of them alone.
Hiroshi stood there, still in shock from what had just happened. Miyu, on the other hand, had turned away, her face completely red as she tried to hide her expression.
To break the awkward silence, Hiroshi scratched the back of his head and said, “U-uhm, so… after this, what do we do? It’s still 3 PM. We’ve got the entire day…”
Miyu, still avoiding eye contact, muttered, “Well… you’re still paying for all the food I eat today, so… you’re staying at my house. Only because you’re paying, okay? Nothing more, Hiroshi!”
Hiroshi couldn’t help but chuckle softly at her flustered tone. “Miyu… are we friends now?”
Miyu stopped walking, her face reddening even more. She hesitated before replying, “U-uhm… yeah, I guess. Kind of…”
Hiroshi smiled. “That’s good. But, uh… about the ki—”
Before he could finish, Miyu interrupted him, her voice louder than usual. “The kiss was only so he would leave, I swear!” Her face was so red it could rival a tomato.
“Y-yeah, I know…” Hiroshi replied, nodding quickly.
As they continued walking, Hiroshi couldn’t stop the thought from popping into his head. Oh my god, I kissed Miyu. I’m so lucky!
