A few days later

Steven has his 12 birthday and prepares to get his talent analysed at the magi tower in the central area of New Hope city. It is a 100 meter tall building that is quite small for most magi towers but this one is mostly just ment for analysing children's talent and recruitment to academies.this tower in particular is not owned by one a academy it is owned by the royal family. It makes it more fair for academies taking acolytes with talents ment for that academy.

When Steven arrives near the tower. Him and his mother andrasia behold a very large gathering of parents and their children. Most people are are rejected at the gate to get into the court yard out side of the tower but some manage to get in. If they have any talent they get in and if they have none they leave with their depressed child. By the time Steven gets to the front of the large gathering he meets a 20 year old girl with a robe and lots of rings sitting next to a 3 in diameter crystal ball. She asks for him to step up and focus on the ball with all your mind. So he does and the ball glows and he is allowed entry with his mother. His mother at this point has a large smile on her face full of pride for her son and his abilities.

When they arrive inside the court yard they could feel the amount of mana increase greatly. They saw all the proud parents and kids meditating on the ground some praying on their knees while others just dumbfounded They got this far. By the time they were granted access to the interior they looked at the note on the wall for payment of access by talent

Steven's mother prepared 1000 crystals by scraping together all their funds and his dad worked over time all of last year to get this heafty sum of crystals. Of course they think he's going to have better talent then brown brown level but just in case his talent was lower than anticipated. It took awhile when they arrived inside to be guided to a talent grader magi and in front of this kind looking elderly man was a 1 meter wide 2 meter tall basin with stairs leading up. This elder was throwing in the last of the cheap ingredients while they were at the top of the stairs. The elder greeted them "Hello come boy dip your head into the basin and I shall activate the analysis" then Steven did so and it was pitch black until he saw colours coming from the bottom of the basin to the top first it was brown then yellow then started to change green. While the colours when. By each one you could see the face of his mother smile even more filled with pride for her son. It continued until it reached blue and they waited a minute until it changed slightly purple then it started to solidify and Steven felt he was being pushed up and out. He landed on his rump with the amount of force it pushed him out with his mother chucked at his tumble and helped him up. The elder replied "Your talent is quite good boy. You have a primary semi-purple talent for nature magic and greeny blue talent for life magic . His mother asked "Does that mean he gets his schooling free?"

The old man thought for a second "No but the cost is quite low only 50 crystals to enter into an academy. You can choose between heavenly sun academy or I would recommend joining my academy of life tree academy we would suit you the best and you could become my very own apprentice." The old man said

Steven looks at his mother "which academy did you go to?"

She smiled "I went to volcanic sea academy but you don't have my talents of water or fire. I think you should join life tree academy it suits you well as this man has told us."

Steven looks over at the man "I will join you if you tell me your name and promise your the best teacher in the entire academy. Oh and your nice."

His mother and the man laugh at his demands but the man eventually calms himself down "My name is Samson lightbark and I am not the best teacher that title would go to the headmaster and vice headmaster. But I am one of the higher ranking teacher in my opinion. I think I would could as a nice person but what really matters is what is it that you want to learn my boy."

After some thought and consideration he shrugs his shoulders and says "I don't know but I do like mushrooms and want one to walk around with as my friend."

The old man nods his head "I think I could help you with that my main topic in the magic of trees and plants but I have worked with mushrooms and my secondary topic of choice to you is animation the art of golem making I think is exactly what you would need for the job although it would not be intelligent until you have a high level mastery of golems it would still follow you around and help you with tasks when you need it. All you need to do is sign this contract with a drop of blood and pay the fee then we can begin this journey in a weeks time after I finish my work here and then the time it takes to get to the life tree academy."

Steven signed the contract after his mother approved and off they went to pack up his things and leave for the academy.
