Trigger warnings: Violence, murder.
Velma Dinkley was thinking about her most recent mystery. They weren't all that interesting anymore. She wouldn't have ever had it go back to what it was, though. Well, not unless she was to break away from mystery inc.
She slept in the mystery machine. It was either that or share a hotel room with shaggy. She slept in the passenger seat because scooby was in the back and she didn't want to share a room with him either. So she was completely alone. She wasn't sure if she preferred it that way or wished someone was there.
Slept was the wrong word actually. She mostly looked up mysteries to solve. And that's what she was doing when she heard a voice.
"I see you're looking for mysteries. I'm something of a mystery myself. Would you like to solve me?"
Velma: I'm not interested in nutcases. Where are you?
Then he touched her back. She turned around and he wasn't there. But she saw something for just a split second. Or was it someone?
Velma: Okay you have my attention.
Scooby: Who, me?
Velma: No. Shut up.
She walked out of the van and looked around.
Velma: Show yourself.
Velma went outside and looked around.
Velma: You were there for a second meaning you are a person, but you disappeared so you can do that. You can talk without physically being here, and you can teleport.
Voice: You got part of that wrong but I won't say what part.
Velma: So it's only one part?
Voice: I'll give you that.
Velma: I have to say I'm stumped.
Voice: I'll give you another hint.
And then she was gone.

Deku was writing in his hero journal about the big 3, the 3 best students in his school. He was staying up late since it was the weekend. His bedroom was full of all-might merchandise and posters. The obnoxious noises coming from the other room made him glad that nobody in his school was sharing a dorm room.
Then there was a knock at his door. He put his hero journal in his pocked out of habit and went to answer it. It was Kirishima.
Kirishima: Have you seen todoroki? It's late, and he hasn't answered any calls.
Deku: Not really. I also haven't seen Bakugo-
Kirishima: He's in his room!
Deku: ... I knew that. Maybe I should try to call todoroki.
Kirishima: Okay. I'll be in my room with bakugo.
Huh?
Deku tried to reach him but he didn't answer. He tried texting him instead:
"Where are you? It's late"
In response, he was sent a location and the words "I need your help".
Deku: I guess I'm going out then.
Deku went outside and found that it was incredibly cold. He went back inside and put on a thick coat. Beforehand he was approached by Kirishima.
Kirishima: I think todoroki told me he was going downtown. That's all he said though.
Deku: Okay... That's not where I was told to go.
Kirishima: What?
Deku: He sent me his location. He's actually here.
Deku showed Kirishima the location text.
Kirishima: He's where now?
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Deku: Yeah. I wonder why he told you something different.
Kirishima: Right. I have to go.
Deku: Me too.
And off they went in different directions.
Meanwhile...
Velma a blonde boy in a dark alley. His hair was an explosion and his eyes screamed danger. His hands were in his pockets and he was leaning on the wall. He was smoking a cigarette.
Velma: Hello? Do you have any idea where I am?
Bakugo: In a dark alley, dumbass.
He blew a plume of grey smoke into the air.
Velma: I would've never guessed.
Bakugo: Who the hell are you even?
Velma: Velma, Velma Dinkley. I don't have time for this.
Bakugo: Velma Dinkley? As in Scooby-Doo?
Velma: Wait, how do you know him? Where is he?
He laughed a creepy, unhinged yet muted laugh.
Bakugo: Oh, this is rich. And I bet your glasses fall off at the slightest bump, too.
He poked her in the shoulders. She smacked her hand away.
Velma: Don't touch me.
He pushed her harder.
Velma: I said don't touch me!
She slapped him in the face.
Velma: Where the hell am I?!
Bakugo: I'm not telling you anything.
Then he shot sparks from his hand.
"Now go away"
Meanwhile...
Deku was running towards the specific location when he saw Mt. lady towering over him, and looking around with a really big flashlight that actually looked rather small in her hands.
What was she doing?
She shrunk down, disappeared off in the distance, and deku didn't see what she did next.
Strange.
Deku kept going and found a melting ice tent. It was colder here than it had been all night.
Deku: Who made this?
He heard someone stand up and gasp, but when he stuck his head in nobody was there.
Interesting... finding there was nothing else to do, he kept going.
He was feeling incredibly cold after that so he used 2 percent of one for all full cowling to get warm. It also made him feel slightly more energetic and glow just a bit. He didn't dare use more than that, but he didn't want to be caught using his quirk in public.
He was getting close. He was thinking aloud, but you could barely make out his breathy words even if you put your ear in his mouth.
Deku: Did todoroki make that tent? If he did then why? Why isn't he in it right now? That is if he's the one who made it. What was that shifting noise? It really did sound like someone standing up? Is this really worth worrying about? Am I just hearing things? Should I have even come out here? What was Mt. lady looking for? Was it the ice tent? Why would she be looking for an ice tent? Is an ice tent even the right word for it, or was that just a tent-shaped igloo-
His snail of thought was interrupted by a pole between his downward-facing eyes. It actually had a dent in it. He went around it guiltily and hoped the dent wasn't obviously forehead shaped.
Meanwhile...
Velma: W- What are you!?
Bakugo: What's wrong? Never seen a quirk before?
Velma swept Bakugo's legs and ran away. Bakugo got up and screamed back.
Bakugo: You coward! Go on, run like the loser you are! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
Velma spun around at this, furious.
Velma: Do you have something to prove right now?
Bakugo laughed
Bakugo: Of course not, why would I? I was born with the power of a god, and you were born with nothing.
Velma: Ah, objectivism. The worst of the ideologies. I'll have you know I could kick your ass if I wanted.
Bakugo: Go ahead and try.
Velma: Your move.
Meanwhile...
Deku started to wonder what todoroki wants him to do. Deku sent him a message asking him what he was needed for. He tried texting him.
"What do you need me for?"
No response. He checked the location again and in his half focused and tired state, accidentally deleted the text. He tried remembering where he was supposed to be going, but eventually found that he was completely lost. He texted todoroki again and asked another question.
"I accidentally deleted the location text you sent me. Can you send another one?"
He got a response immediately. So todoroki was on his phone at the moment.
"So what do you need my help with?"
He didn't get a reply.
It's probably just a coincidence. What would this even imply if it was intentional?
As if responding to his emotions, he got a reply right then.
"It's a long story"
Then deku found that he was almost there. Todoroki was right across the street. He could hear a lot of noise now. What was going on in there?
Meanwhile...
Bakugo shot as much fire as he could. Velma jumped back and lost her glasses. Bakugo stepped on them. "You can't see me now, can you?"
Velma: Figure that all out on your own?"
Velma ran around Bakugo, ducked under his left hook, and grabbed his arms from behind, pointing them away from her. He went down to head butt her, but she put both arms in one hand and turned him 90 degrees. She switched back to two hands, lifted her foot, and stepped on his back.
"You look great blurry, by the way. Distracts from your... Well, everything."
Velma lowered him down to the ground. But then she made a mistake. She lowered him to where his hands were in front of her before pulling them away from her face. This meant that there was a moment where Velma was open to fire. Bakugo took it.
Velma could only feel pain and only see an orange haze. She backed away.
She should've brought better glasses. He punched and she caught his hand, pulling it over her shoulder. She grabbed the other hand and put her foot on his stomach, kicking his face with the other and rolling backward, landing painfully on her feet. Her arms were trembling, and Bakugo had split a tooth. He spat it out and wiped the blood off his lip.
Bakugo: Yooo looks aufulll.
Velma: When you're done pretending there's a mirror there, tell me how I look.
Bakugo: That was sha stchupidest thing I've ever-
Velma punched him in the face again left a bruise. He now felt a pain in his chest also. Did she crack a rib when she stepped on his chest? He starting to regret this.
"Kacchan?"
Velma: Who's this?
Bakugo: What?! Whinnn did choo get heuh? heuh, heerh, here.
He spat out a mouthful of blood and what felt like half of his tongue.
Deku: Leave her alone.
Bakugo: As soon as she quits.
Deku: No. You shouldn't be fighting strangers. Stop this.
Bakugo: Stay out of this, Deku.
Deku: No.
Then green lightning appeared around his body.
Bakugo: Are you trying to settle our old fight while I'm weakened?
Deku: This isn't about that. Come back to your dorm, please.
Bakugo: I don't take orders from you! Now get lost!
He palmed Deku's chest and made it explode. Then Deku was gone.
Bakugo: What! Where is he!
Velma: You killed him... god you killed him.
Bakugo: What? I... I- I don't... this is not...
He fell to his knees, and Velma ran away.
