Chapter 2 – The 33rd Case – Part 2
Friday, August 5th, Year 9989, Balien Calendar.
9:30 AM, Class X, Junior Central High, Lawrence, Kansas, United states.
The class has just started, when two people walk into the classroom. One was a thin old man, and other was a slim, slender girl who seemed to be around fourteen years old. Obviously, the old man is the headmaster of the school.
They both stand next to the board, “Good morning everyone, this is Xi Bi, and she will be joining your class from today. She has recently moved to US from China, so she might need help adjusting here, and I hope you guys will do your best to assist her, I will leave it to her the introduction part then,” says the old headmaster and exits the class room.
“Hello everyone, I am Xi Bi, I am from Hong Kong, China, I just arrived here because of my parents’ transfer, I would have to depend on you for help in the future,” says Xi Bi.
The homeroom teacher, who was next to the teaching desk, says, “Welcome to Junior Central High Miss. Xi, please take the empty seat next to Miss. Alice, and Miss. Alice help her to settle up please and if you could help her on the classes she’s missed, that would be perfect. Now since that’s settled, lets continue the class.”
After that, the classes went on and on; it was not until lunch break that Xi got to meet her classmates. Alice introduced some of her friends, “Hi Xi, this is Noah, Mia, Jacob, Emma, and Olivia, they are all from our class.” With Alice and her friends, Xi roamed around the campus for half an hour, and got lunch from the cafeteria. They all became friends quickly, and at 1.30, they went back to class for afternoon classes.
After classes were done, Xi left the school with Alice, while they were going Alice asks, “Hi Xi, Where are you staying?”
“I stay with my family near Rock Chalk Park, you?” asks Xi.
“I am staying near Walgreens, that’s down the road,” says Alice.
“Hi Alice, can I ask you something?” asks Xi.
“Yeah, sure, what do you want to know?”
“It’s like this, I read somewhere that one of our students was murdered some days ago, is that true?” asks Xi.
“Yes, her name was Ivory, she topped the class previous year, and she was nice to everyone, I have no idea why someone would kill her like that,” says Alice, grief could be found in her voice.

“Then, is it safe to go to school at a time like this? What if someone else is attacked? I think the school should be called off until the culprit is caught,” says Xi.
“Ok, Ok, the police must be doing their best; let’s have some trust in them.” says Alice, after a momentary silence, she continues, “Hi, how about coming to my home? Let’s hangout it will be fun.”
“No, not today, I can’t return home late on my first day, can I? Let’s do it like this, let’s hangout tomorrow, it’s Saturday, so we will have lot of time to hangout as well, and lets invite Mia and Emma too, how about it?” asks Xi.
“Sure, let’s do it like you said,” says Alice, and takes out her cell and texts Mia and Emma about the plans. Within a minute, she got replay from them saying they will also be joining.
“They will also be joining it seems, so, let’s meet tomorrow then,” says Alice, and the two part ways.
..
8:30 PM, Inspector Johnson’s house.
Johnson was sitting on his sofa staring at the board in front of him. On that board, you could see a detailed map of Lawrence, and there were six locations marked, they were the five locations where the murder happened and the last was Junior Central High!
Even now, Johnson could hear his subconscious screaming, that these murders had something to do with this junior high; however, he could not just understand to what these evidences were pointing to. It was as if, he was just inches away from the truth, but could not touch it, which was maddening.
At this time, something comes from his window, and strikes the board so hard that it gets struck there. It looked similar to playing card, but one side was completely filled by a big X character, and on the other side was a message. Looking at the card Johnson immediately understood from whom this message has come. Therefore, he immediately pulls the card out, and starts to read the message.
“Rooftop, 2 min.” were the only words on it.
Johnson rushes to his rooftop, after reaching there, even before he could catch his breath, he sees someone sitting there. That figure was wearing a black suit; there were thousands of wind blades swirling around him. His entire body, which was behind those wind blades, appeared completely obscure, it was as if he was the divinity of wind, the scene was too shocking for Johnson. The wind hid him so well, that one could not make out any of his facial features; not even, if he was a male or female.
“Are you Mr. X?” asks Johnson.
“If I say Yes, would you believe me?” asks the blurry figure, his was hoarse, obviously not his original voice. To which Johnson nods. “Then I am Mr. X,” says the figure.
“Why are you here? And the department said you will be coming on Monday, how come you are here so early?” asks Johnson.
“I couldn’t possibly wait, since there is a chance that another person might die right?” says Mr. X.
“You came here, and not to the station, which means you didn’t want to alert the criminal right? And you would not come here without a reason, what do you want from me?” asks Johnson.
“You sure are smart Inspector, and you are right, I do need something from you, I need you to help me keep people away from school perimeter tomorrow evening, I don’t want people getting hurt accidentally, and you were right on one more thing, the murderer is in Junior Central High!” says Mr. X.
“You said the murderer is in Junior Central High? Don’t tell me you already found out who did all these? Did I miss any clues left by him?” Johnson had a look of utter disbelief on him.
“Yes, I did find out who did it, and it is not a he, it’s a She,” says Mr. X, and disappears.
