4. A Gate(Tower) Break

4. A Gate(Tower) Break

As the sun inched above the barren trees, the ground shook violently. An earthquake had arrived in the city. Daren bounced off his bed, face smashing down the wood.

"What the fuck!" He yelled, flipping his body to face upward. Chaos ensues the outside. Many screams were heard and something that resembled a mic announcement razed the entire city.

[The South Tower "Berbendal" Has Fallen! I repeat! The South Tower "Berbendal" Has Fallen! All citizens evacuate to the main hall immediately! And for adventurers, please gather at the South Gate this instance!]

As Darren pushed his body up the floor while groaning. "I did not go to this world to have responsibilities." After a loud yawn, Darren again returned to the floor and reached under his bed, tapping for his bag.

Grunting a moan out as he pulled the bag, Darren finally got up on his two feet and slowly made his way to the door. He turned the knob and it pushed itself, the knob leaving his hand. Then a woman covered by a single bath towel ran as fast as she could out another door. "Move!!!" The woman screamed.

"Ahhh...." Darren was left speechless. His jaw dropped down as he watched the woman, barefoot, run down the stairs as loud as she could. He looked back to the room and noticed that it was covered with bright pink and red colors, that could make anyone horny just by looking at it.

Darren caressed the tip of his fingers on his face up to his hair, then, he let out a sigh. "I could have gotten laid last night, couldn't I." After a tap on his chest and a constant rambling of sounds, Darren looked down on his body and realized he still hadn't changed clothes.

Placing the bag down on the floor and changing his clothes took a few odd minutes, disturbed by his conflicting emotions of disappointment and disappointment.

Luckily for Darren, or unluckily, he was actually on the south side of the city, it was like destiny. Just as he left his room and went down to the first floor, many adventurers were already gathered to his left.

"Everyone please quiet down! We do not know why Barbendal had fallen, but the reason is not important right now! As your guild master! I hereby announce an emergency mission! Any adventurer, whatever your rank is! Whoever brings me the most monster core will earn 1 gold plate!" An old man stood on a wooden stool placed at the middle of the gate.

The adventurers then screamed at their excitement. With no care in the world, as soon as the man walked off to the side, everyone ran out of the city with their cries of war.

"I thought this was more serious... than that. Is this... normal?" Darren squinted his eyes and played with his eyebrows. Darren shook his head.

"Hey kid, you an adventurer?" Said a well-built old man with a bushy white beard holding a wooden stool with one hand.

Darren looked at the man's eyes and moved his gaze to the stool. "Good morning, guild master." He bowed. He looked back up and said, “If I wasn’t shouldn’t I be at the hall?”

"Hehehe." He laughed creepily. "Are you not going to join them?" The man pointed behind him with the stool.

"Uh... I will, soon."

The man laughed again. He started to walk but then the moment he was about to slap Darren's back. "Oh... what bag is this, kid?"

Darren was startled. Not because he couldn't explain such a thing, but because it took one day for anyone to even question his bag. "It's a special bag that can hold a lot of weight." He turned around and smiled.

Despite having the same height, it still felt like he was slightly smaller just because of the amount of scars etched on his muscled arms.

"Hm..." The man saw a handle on the top and pulled it up. After feeling the weight of the bag, he smirked and dropped it. "You're one strong kid." He then walked off not even waiting for a reply.

What a weird man. Well, he is old. Darren walked off to the gate and pulled out his knife. "I have a really bad feeling about this... but..." His stomach growled. "This better end fast. Cause I’m hungry as fuck man."

"That's mine you bitch!"

"Shut the fuck up!"

"Move!"

"Die asshole!"

Hundreds of gray-colored goblins flooded the forest. But with the amount of the goblins, they weren't even doing a bit of injury. The adventurers were the ones injuring others just for the reason of stealing a weird orb.

"Get the fuck off my face!"

"Ahh!"

Seeing the chaos of the adventurers, Darren sneaked off to the side in fear. With precious gold in his bag, fighting monkeys with sharp claws just wasn't a risk he was willing to take… for now.

But soon enough, different types of monsters arrived. Darren climbed up a tree and looked far into the forest. Surprisingly, not only do dungeons exist in the world, though not a portal shape, there also exist towers.

Just being on top of a tree, Darren was able to spot two towers. In the middle of the two was a fallen brick tower half the size of the others. He was in awe. “So that’s the fallen Barben… I forgot the name.”

A giant lizard monster, the same as the one he saw before was running through the forest. But this time, they were far smaller, only having their head slightly peak up the trees.

While Darren was counting the amount of shiny bald heads, a woman flew to the sky and released a giant ball of fire to the lizards. He was shocked, leaving his mouth open like a peanut.

The woman signaled her hand to the ground. Then the entire forest was cut like a quarter of a pie. The trees all flew to the sky, held by the female wizard. Her skin showed many veins, struggling to hold the amount of trees.

As Darren looked further beyond the flat land, red creatures that were as tiny as one's leg exited the forest's womb. It was like birthing tadpoles.

"My God!" Darren couldn't stop his excitement anymore and dropped down. He took out his rope and tied it around his body, securing the bag in place. "Ahhhh!" Releasing his own cringe cries of war, he left for the battlefield.

Many adventurers could be seen resting against trees gasping for air and aiding their wounds with white fabrics. It was like a new genre. Just a few minutes ago, everyone was ravaging for monster cores, but now they all rest, though it was probably injuries taken from their own teammates.

Darren chuckled in his mind and hurried at the bald scalp of the forest. Then a loud bang hit the floor. Another earthquake appeared, shaking the ground like it had diarrhea.

Luckily for Darren, his effort to go in wouldn't be wasted by the people who are far too powerful for any of this situation. Just one of them could probably kill the giant lizard I struggled for. I mean... I didn't really gain any injury, but it was hard! He shivered in thought.

A gray goblin holding a knife jumped down from a tree on his right. Darren stared at the incoming goblin. It had its knife stretched forward, holding it with one hand, not only that, but it was held sloppily too.

With the knife in his right hand, Darren slapped the goblin’s arm with the side of the knife to the side. Then he stabbed into it’s stomach and retracted it immediately.

"Hehehe." Darren laughed. The goblin dropped down to the ground. He stared at it for a few seconds until a memory popped into his mind orb. “A monster core!” He said, pointing up his index finger in the air.

After dissecting the goblin for its core the bushes shook as another one came running. But it wasn't a goblin, but an adventurer. His body was like a twig having a piece of grape placed on top of it.

Darren took the knife of the goblin and threw it to the kid's chest... then immediately regretted it. "Oh God!" He looked around from side to side. As there was no one there, he took out his knife and placed the core in his pocket then ran.

Thank God I used the goblin's knife! Please don't have a fingerprint thing! Oh... but they don't really have my fingerprint either... Why did I stop running? Run Darren! Run! I am not going to prison!

A few seconds later, he arrived at the scene where most of the adventurers gathered.

"Praise our two S rankers!"

"Marry me Princess Kachi!"

"You're the best Koruken!"

"That, that sounds so... Japanese," Darren said. The adventurers killed the red things as they fawned over the two people.

However, he just shook the thoughts and weird hijinks of the people and hurried to kill as many red things as he could.

Darren kicked one red thing into the tree. He grabbed onto its neck and dragged it up the tree to his eye level. “Hehehe.” He cackled while licking his lips.

"Get out of here newbie!" A man yelled running to him. He dropped the red thing and quickly stabbed its stomach.

Darren looked behind him and left the red thing stuck on the tree. He took the rope on his left arm and ran straight to the man.

The adventurer was holding a normal iron broad sword with light clothing armor. He held the sword with both hands below his waist, just with that information, he already knew the adventurer didn’t even know how to use the sword properly.

The man raised his sword up, ready to swing it down. Darren then jumped forward on his position and laso’d the rope on the adventurer’s face. “Hahaha!” He laughed, quickly retracting his rope and taking the red thing’s whole body along with his knife.

He ran to another red thing... and never looked back.

For the rest of his dangerous trip, Darren avoided coming close to the two S rankers that could decimate the entire forest in one hit. He ran around in circles, hunting as many monsters as he could.

But for whatever reason, the only thing he could ever find are the small red naked demons with a tiny black finger on their head. However, his killing journey wasn't that boring. Even though the tiny things were weak, the fun of encountering an adventurer was fun.

One would run to him and he would attack as hard as he could. Other times, he would see an adventurer, and he would be the one to attack. After a few encounters, he realized he could just steal all of their earnings. Whether that was allowed or not, he couldn't care less.

After almost an hour of fighting, everyone had become exhausted and no living monsters were seen in sight. One by one, adventurers headed back to the city. When Darren saw the flying woman going back to the guild from the sky, Darren decided that he was too hungry to even continue anymore.

"Well, that was one fun day." He spun his knife and wiped it off the demon's skin.

When Darren got out of the forest, people were all gathered outside the gate. There were no guards above the walls and the gate seemed to be closed. People were yelling and complaining as the woman flew up the city wall. "What the hell is happening?" Darren said.

"That's what we wanna know." Someone said behind him along with the rustling sound of leaves.

Inside a spacious room. There were sofas surrounding a wooden table, and a man tied to a chair behind a desk. Two men stood beside the desk, wearing black clothes through their entire bodies, only leaving their eyes exposed.

"We have captured him." One of the two pressed their ear and talked. He then replied to an answer that was directly transmitted to his ears.

"We are just waiting for Seya."

"Yes."

"As the Genesis, we don't fail."

"As the Genesis, we don't fail."

The two men bowed and stared at the door in front of him. Loud steps banged the floor. The walls shook and soon the door launched to the table, destroying both. "How dare you Genesis bastards kidnap the Lord of Centaroun!"

A buff man pointed with a broken stool in hand.

"Guild Master Seya, quiet down."

"Surrender this instance."

"Fuck you..." Seya threw the pieces of chair to the two and ran straight. They dodged and spread to the side. He grabbed the Lord and jumped out of the window in front.

The two clicked their tongue and swung their hand, releasing a glowing white rope, and grabbing onto Seya. A blade made from magic formed on Seya's hand, but before it could touch the rope, he was interrupted by their pull.

One of the men passed their rope to the other and aimed a blade of magic. Seya looked behind him and dropped the Lord out the window, grabbed on the broken window, and propelled his body slightly to the side, dodging the blade.

However, the man holding the rope stabbed Seya with a sharp iron doused with poison in the middle of the air. "You shit!" The man exploded in a bright yellow color, flinging the two to the walls.

Seya appeared in front of one of the men and smashed his head to bits. "Seya, your effort is futile." Said the man he just killed. The body turned to a black slime and made its way to Seya's body. Clinging and biting.

"We are finished with the capture." Said the other behind Seya.

"Genesis bastard!" He yelled, pressuring all his veins, releasing a glint of yellow. Seya's body slowly increased in size. His muscles turned to radiated pieces of meat colored green and yellow. But despite his struggle and screams, the black slime kept him in place, swallowing more of his body.

Then in a sudden burst, Seya died, his corpse painted on the walls. The other man had already left the room and captured the Lord once more. The black slime melted back to the ground and hardened.

A sudden burst of wind entered the room. "Lord Fan!" A woman yelled. She looked around the room, witnessing a pool of blood shrouded in black smoke. "What..." Waving her hand, a yellow-colored crystal formed, "Seya..." and cracked in front of her. "Seya.".
