Character Creation 2

Character Creation 2

What’s up, gamers? It’s ya boi, Karl, back at it again with another Gamer’s Guide. Today we’re going over R&C’s updated character creation!

Ever since the VR version was released, outrage over how simplistic and ‘easy’ the PC version’s character creation is surfaced. People complained about how everyone started with the base of 5 in each attribute - which they also didn’t like - and there wasn’t any ‘personality’ to their characters. They also wanted some in-depth race and faction choice, like in the VR version.

So the dev team once again went all out to appease their fans. While they didn’t deliver on everything players wanted, they did overhaul their less than stellar attributes and added a quiz that made selecting a class a lot easier. The update came just in time for their Christmas event, too!

Let’s get started with explaining the quiz. There are two parts to it: personality and play-type. The first part is designed to automatically dish out your base attributes based on the options you chose. Each question goes as is: on a scale of one to ten, blah blah blah. It’s simple, easy, and fun to mess around with. I recommend choosing 5 in each question if you want a well-rounded character.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

The second part is a little more hands-on. To make sure you have the best class suited for your ideal play-type it asks you your in-game goals, how you plan to best achieve them, and whether or not you think torching other people’s bases will help you in that regard. (Spoiler Alert: it totally does!)

Now that you’ve got the quiz out of the way, it’ll give you class, race, and faction options that were selected based on your answers. It’s typically up to five, for all three, but you might get more, or less, depending on how good you were to the game’s system.

After you’ve dealt with that, you select your starter town and get playing! All in all not much has changed but the new additions make starting just a tiiiny bit easier for players. And that’s all we can ask for, right?
