----------------------------------------

There is only litle that fazes me at this point of my career as the Cardinal Sin of Pride. This little classified kerfuffle is but an inkling to the stuff we sins dive into on a daily basis. Of course, it is I who has the most share of the ones involving politics and diplomacy. When someone uses the word clasified, especially soeone like madame Church, it ought to be my concern. As elected leader of the seven, it is only natural to concern myself over whatever deep-rooted mess this boy has gotten me into... honestly, can't I have one vacant day used as a vacant day? I was suppsoed to enjoy my tea, my records, and some silence. AWAY from the crowd of black and grey in which I tread through in disgust.

My communicator has notified me with a beep that she has sent me the coordinate for the rendesvous. The small screen unraveled in front of my left eye as I pushed throught the bustling capital district crowd. It was giberish, something masked to be signal junk. Arriving at the bulleter platform, another message arrived. This one isn't from Church, it was from Sophie. It merged witht the one Church has sent, de-encrypting the message to the coordinates of the rendezvous. Quickly now, the buleter en route to the place are calling for the last passengers to board. Shoulders, arms, legs, I shoved them out of the way. I got in, thankfully, but to a car sub par to a passenger such as myself...

"Honestly..." I hissed lowly. For something that's disturbing my scarce allocated day of leisure, I found the anticipation about all the secrecy to be the only thing keeping me from being righteously pissed. That decryptor file from Sophie only means she's got a hand in all of this too... Reaching for my left temple, I called her.

"Aren't you running late? I can see your ping a litle of schedule..." She picked up after the first few ring of the first call, how surprising.

"Shut up. She couldn't have picked a better time to pull me out on capial rush hour."

"Yeah, she kinda pulled me out of my day off as well. Kind of a bunner since this looks like it'll go on until tomorrow, UGH I don't get to have some sleep."

"You sleep too much."

"Isn't laziness supposed to be a thing I embody or somthing?" She whined.

"With that thing that always carries you around, I don't know when you're NOT embodying it." This small talk was distracting me from the point I wanted to ask. "What do you have anything to do wth the Ferrous boy, Sophie?"

"The only thing I can share through this line is that yes, I do have a part in it. It's also a thing Church is gonna burn me for if I tell soooooo..." I sighed...

"Fine. Send me the jumpgate codes. If Church wants this secret, it better not leave a trace. Think your box can do it for you?"

She chukled from the oher side of the line "It sounds to me like you're getting into this thing, huh?" She was right, more than I'd ike to admit. She hung up without another remark and another message got recieved. I felt an uneasiness on my hand when I saw it, blue glyphs. Among all the lagnuages I've learned, glyphs from Sophies cube are something that always left me curious. It is archaic, unknown by any chartered civiization the City has encountered before. Still, it works on any known medium on any known level of tech. I guess these characters are meant to be jump codes for the gate.

----------------------------------------

Gate district. Much more accomodating to foot traffic, but it needs some work on the noise. I always thought that the butlers that lived near hear have some sor of hearing impairment. I wouldn't blame them, The sound of cargo or a person being shot out to a set coordinates in the planet would make such a tremendous sound. There's a line. Fuck that. I stepped around it and ignored the exclaims of these whiners. Some attempted to look angrily at me, bit of course upon seeing who they even dared to scowl at, their feet and faces fold back into place.

The gatemaster would give me a questionable look. Raising my brow, I expect him to accomodate me right this instant. The one in front seemed to understand so they stepped aside. I had my quill copy the characters of the blue glyphs Sophie sent me. It floated out of my pocket and wrote in the air between us. The gatemaster held out his hand and the glyphs hovered towards it. He raised the runestone that acted as the panel of the colossal jumpgate.

"I don't knnow where this is." The gatemaster said.

"It's not your place to know, it's your job to take me there."

"Loading in unintelligible coordinates to the gate presents u-"

"I know the risks, gatemaster. Do NOT lecture me. If I end up with my head on firemen grove, my torso on the orbit, and my leg at Steel-523, then the people I just cut off would have been glad I cut my way in line towards such a disgraceful death. Load it up if you don't want someone from a rank you don't even know exists have you at Bronze Hall."

Such a lashing made it clear for this gatemaster. He shrugged and loaded the coordinates. Of course, this was a local code, meaning somwhere within the planet. The gate was activtaed and started to adjust the angle, with the loud revving sound it always makes when making a long distance jump shot. I stepped on the platform and watched my surroundings warp, With an almost deafening bouncing sound, My surroundings disappeared...

To where this chore takes me, It better be worth more than a day out of my study...
