----------------------------------------

The woman leaned to her hip on the other side this time, looking at the young butler.

"Hey, I said what district d'you live, kid?"

Jake, still recovering from the rage of his pent up exhaustion, looked at her. Maybe a stunt pulled like this didn't reward him the result he wished to have. With every second he didn't answer, he can feel her look grow more impatient. This was another of the even Sins, one who's disposition he didn't know the limits of...

Maybe it is time to go back... I've only made a mess of myelf.

With a throat he is now realizing is parched, he answered in defeat. "Iron-47."

"What pass level you got for transpo?" she followed up.

"A B+ pass."

"Alright. I can use a train ride. Let's go." The woman headed out of Kane's office and towards the exit. Jake didn't know what to do now exactly but follow her lead. Sure she technically was sending him home, but maybe it's for the best rather than forcing his way. Besides, it was probabaly better to be with a Sin who's not really pissed at him.

He followed suit and left the study. Kane sighed in relief, the insufferable pair finally left him to his peace and quiet. The man did linger on the thought though...

Jake got inside his study. A feat expected only to the level of Cardinal Sin. Jake followed her quietly. To embarassed to even give Kane an apology.

As they left his ofice, it was now back to the black masonry and dark green carpet that seemed to be the design of the endless halls of Sinners Hollow. He was too mad to even notice them when he came here, but now the carpet is where his eyes were locked on. She led on and he silently followed.

"That was beyond stupid, you know. Barging in on the Sin of Pride like that." The woman looked back to see the teen, head dropped in shame like a wounded dog. She noticed that they were about the same height, but she knew she was older by him by not a lot of years. There isn't really an expected age range for Cardinal Sins.

"Tell me how you came to Sinners Hollow."

No answer.

"How did you get to Kane's study? Are you aware how this place works?"

Silence.

"You're Jake, right?"

This got his attention. "You know my name?"

"Yeah, you're that guy Sophie won't shut up about. And I think Suma mentions you too at times." She thought about it. How does this kid exactly know three of the seven Cardinal Sins? Sure it wasn't exactly a common feat among the butlers, but for a kid his age, mentions about him from the others got her interest.

She stopped and looked back to see the boy sitting on the carpet, staining it with tears. Gosh this kid's fucked up. Nope, this simply wasn't her style. She wanted to take him home, not babysit yet another traumatized teen that has it too hard in a fucked up system like this. She turned around and looked down on Jake all crouched against the wall.

"Look, Jake. I'm taking you out of Hollow as a fucking courtesy. If you're feeling too shitty to even walk, then I'll have no choice but to drag you back to Kane's office.

I'm sure you have a sob story that you're currently having a hard time managing. How we manage it is based on what works for us, but what works isn't always the healthy kind, kid."

This is why she called him cub, a kid. Age doesn't really determine what identifies a person as a kid or an adult, she believes it to be the experiences and exposure. It seems like this guy grew up by himself too fast too hard on such little time.

----------------------------------------

Capital district was bustling as always. It just magnifies how small of a replaceable gear you are to the City's grand machinery. Jake knew what he's been through isn't worth the time of others, some most likely have it worse. But it was in that thinking where he suffers. Are his problems valid given that there are countless more who has it worse? The faces he gets glances on, what are the stories behind them? How are they coping? Why are they here?

"So. what's the fastest transport for you to take? It's been a while since I've ridden a public transport, that is if you don't count jump gates to be public transportation." Jake was snapped out of his deep pondering. Jake wasn't really familiar with the ports and terminals at the FDE, but she seemed to know where she was going. Sure enough, he noticed they were going the wrong way despite telling her where she lived.

"I don't understand, Iron-47 is that way. Shouldn't we be taking an Airbus?" He caught up to her as she walked.

"Why are you doing this... Heck, I'm not even sure who you are among the Sins. How can I trust you?" She stopped walking and faced him. Some of the wind was making her shorter hairs lash on her face so she held them up.

"You can just call me Emma. Sin of Wrath."

"... Okay? So how does that explain you taking me to FDE instead of to the Airbus terminal?" he asked.

Emma stopped and did start to consider, she often kept her thoughts to herself like this without realizing. She looked at Jake when he folowed up with another question. "How can you possibly help me?"

"You should have done your research first before you barged into Sinners Hollow. That's why I'm here. You don't know what your little visit to Kane's office meant for you, and besides, it's kinda like my day off. I want to spend some hours of it on a detour route to your district. It's that or you can go to the terminal now, I'm not gonna stop you."

Of coursehe was interested. First of all she was right. He acted purely out of impulse when he went to Sinners Hollow. When she said there were some things about his visit he didn't know, now was the perfect opportunity. Secondly, he's never really seen the Sin of Wrath before; lastly, a detour with decent company is better than a silent Airbus home. It's not like he was required to report back to his mentor anyway, he quit his faction. Maybe she can have an idea of which faction he can move to.

"Fine. I'll go. But I'm gonna have to just ask you...to be honest with me when you talk. I don't like being treated like a kid anymore, and I'm sick of lies. I quit my faction and left my master becaouse of the lies." His determined tone broke off as a sad one with each passing phrase of his remark. Emma though, couldn't help but curve her lips. It's rare that you encounter souls like this one. She really did want to help him though, that's why she lead all the way here.

"Okay I know you just said you don't like being treated like a kid, but you looked cute just now the way you said that...

I'm messing with you."

She punched him on the shoulder and slung an arm around him. "Come on. I remember first class train rides have free drinks."

"Yeah... I think I can use one..."
