August 1st, 2009, is almost midnight right now, and I should be sleeping right now, but my aunt needed the help, and I needed the money. It was a weirdly chilly night for summer. I was already inside when I started to hear a lot of people outside the store. Apparently, the game that we were selling was kind of big; I really never heard of it, and I've never been a gamer, but seeing so many people waiting outside makes me curious.
The cover for the game was weird, with some sort of blue dragon in the background and a dude with an impossibly huge sword in the front. I shrugged and kept unpacking. I heard the doors opening and the customers rushing in. I also heard a metallic clank; the light dimmed, and the only thing I could see now was the big ass rack full of boxes looming over me.
That was it, I thought, dead by videogames, and not even in the fun way, squished like a bug.
Wait a minute...thought? Wasn't I dead? I tried to open my eyes, but darkness was the only thing I could see. After some more minutes of confusion, I started to move. I could feel some kind of bedsheet over me, voices in the distance, and the waves of the sea. The sea?! I live nowhere near the ocean. What kind of hospital is this?. I felt my face, and some kind of bandage was covering my face. I slowly started to remove it. While I was doing that, someone ran out of the room I was in and started yelling for someone to come. After a few seconds, I could finally remove the bandages from my eyes, and I was shocked by what I saw.

Instead of a hospital room as I was expecting, I was instead in some kind of hut. Near the bed I was in, I could see the waves crashing against some docks not far from the room. Nothing in the room gave me clues about my current situation—some kind of chest in the corner flanked by a rudimentary fireplace and a wooden rack. On the other side of the room, there is a table with two chairs and a door to the exterior. Weakly, I tried to stand up, but apparently my body was badly beaten, so my efforts ended with me on the floor.
That´s when a little girl entered the room, and behind her was a mountain of a man, at least 2 meters tall, with muscles on his muscles and long hair wrapped in a top knot. No shirt, only some kind of necklace and some kind of loincloth covered his body.
-Nice to see you in the land of the living!-
His voice was deep, almost gutural; I could feel the vibrations from the other side of the room.
-When we found you on the beach, we thought you were goner.-
A powerful laugh filled the space, the little girl giggled, and I awkwardly smiled. What was I supposed to say to that?
As quick as it started, the man stopped, and a serious face appeared. The little girl apparently knew what that meant because she didn't waste any time and promptly exited the room.
-Well now is time for introductions. I'm Captain Osat of the trading ship "The Wyvern's Wisper". Now, who might you be?-
