It has been a long ride but e have finally arrived at the forest everyone were both physically and mentally tired.

But what's really bothering me is that what if this is not the same world or even dimension the surroundings is different and a forest is supposed to be rare how come I don't recognize this forest. I should try to talk things through with the commander .

McArthur: Hilda what's the body count?

Hilda: 57 dead sir..... 30 drones destroyed of which 25 is beyond repair, although we can still salvage their antimatter core

The commander's face contorted with dismay as he knew that they have suffered heavy losses in a short span of time

Although more pressing matters are at hand such as going home and failing the mission

Jason: sir do you have a minute?

I talked to the commander of the possibility that we are not in our world anymore which is to my surprise he have already suspected as much me talking to him about this things just solidified the theory.

The tired and stressed soldiers are forced to prepare for departure, the commander has issued that we are to use the teleporter once again to return home .

I couldn't sleep so I went towards menchie's lab to have her compress the neuro transmitter into my helmet.

Menchie: ehh! Why would you want such a thing controlling more than 2 drones is dangerous much more you want ten of them at once.... Why go such lengths!?

Jason: nothing much just a hunch. Besides I am not intending to control too many drones this is just a precaution our numbers are low and there are many injured, they are too unfit to pilot drones

Menchie: fine... Its okay if I set this to universal right??

I nodded and left the lab.  Went and look for hilda on how she is doing hilda is vulnerable in this atmosphere *tsk*I remember when we were still at the orphanage.

Hilda is talented but mentally weak and its easy to distrup her thought pattern.

I see that she is still working but otherwise fine I could only sigh at relief damn can't wait to go home and live this.. Wherever this place is

Somewhere in the shadows

Dozens of cloaked personnel have surrounded the tank and has hidden themselves well .

*boom* *boom* explosions everywhere the soldiers were caught by surprise the drones did not detect anything yet they are being attack after a few moment the soldiers have reorganized themselves and begins their counter attack.

Mcarthur: WHY DIDN'T THE DRONES ALARM US!?

Menchie: those flying creature are well out of range of the drones, they are on autopilot to allow the soldiers to recuperate.

Jason: even its wasteful use H.D.L(high density laser) we must eliminate every enemy as soon as possible before they warn the others... How goes the teleporter when will it be ready!?

Menchie: in 12 hours time the teleporter can be used

Mcarthur: very well I had the area scouted there is a crevice nearby inside is a cave we will use the mammoth tank as a giant roadblock bottleneck the enemy and snipe them.

Have the injured personnel ready for the teleport jason I will hand you all our remaining drones take volunteers to hold enemies while we prepare the teleporter.... Is you breach the defense line you know what to do right?

Jason: yes sir I'll take hilda and mechie, the other volunteers gather at the armory...

Well well I never thought I would be a cannon fodder *sigh* anyway if worst comes to worst I have this antimatter core from the irreparable drones sireously I don't want to be forced to overcharge these things... Such a waste  then again I don't want to die yet .

Maybe I'll just detonate one antimatter core and make the run for it I have the armory removed from the tank and most of the essentials are safe from the blast radius..

After the counter attack I thought to myself that the

HDL worked wonders we have eliminated the enemies in a matter of minutes I bet all enemies could see were lasers burning through them if it wasn't for their ridiculous amount of energy consumption HDL would be a popular weapon.

After all that I have set half of the remaining drones to snipe mode  this way it would be much easier to pick enemies in a bottleneck such as these...

After all preparations are done... THE WAITING GAME BEGINS.
