Wartime 1

Chapter 11 - Wartime 1

The Raquam Empire constructed a small base and airfield within a fortnight, the Malando Empire’s army was stationed several kilometres away from the nearest fort town of Louis. The Crimea Dukedom had 46,000 soldiers, 12,000 guarding forts, and cities. 4,000 Royal Guard, 10,000 National Guards, and 10,000 men from the combined private armies of nearby lords.

The Raquam empire has 1,000 men stationed in the new base with more than half being non-combat personnel. 15 S-300s, 9 M1 Abrams, 12 armoured humvees, 3 UAVs, and 5 Mitsubishi type 89 were deployed with the men. Off the coast near Lessia was a fleet that consisted of 2 Royal carriers, 3 Ducal battleships, 4 Marquis destroyers, and 1 Royal submarine. The fleet had 5 UH-60 Blackhawks, 120 F-22, 12 B-57 Canberras, and 18 chinooks.

The Malando Empire on the other hand had 120,000 men, 10,000 were defending the base built on a hill facing Lessia. The Malando Empire's soldiers were divided into 3 groups, the left corps which consisted of 30,000 men, the central corps which consisted of 65,000 and right division which consisted of 15,000 men. 450 newly built 4th generation ships and 630 3rd generation ships were patrolling making sure to notify any incoming reinforcements from the Shino Kingdom since news of the invasion has likely reached the Shino kingdom by now.

The strategy was to have the right corps take Fort Stan and overwhelming Fort Town Louis with the centre corps. After capturing Fort Town Louis they would combine forces and capture Lessia, fighting the Crimean Royal Guards and National Guards together with the base made by the ‘Raquam Empire.’ The right corp’s purpose was to take Fort Kiel and make sure no surprise attacks from the Crimean lords and the ‘Raquam Empire’ came. The whole war was like a playground for the Malando Empire’s generals.

The Crimea Dukedom was led by the King himself with the first prince. The second prince was on the front lines fighting and encouraging the front liners, despite not being an adult, he was very charismatic and strong. The Raquam Empire was led by the Defense Minister, Countess Shiro. The Malando Empire was led by General Kolon Der Lainina, a famous general born from the militaristic Lainina Marquess house. General Kolon famously led the Jarack campaign against the former Kingdom of Jarack 24 years ago. General Kolon was most famous for the battle of Sieg, being outnumbered with only 2,000 cavalries, he won against an army of 9,000 Jaracks and took the head of their General.

POV General Kolon

The enemy is completely on defence, why must I fight against such a weak nation, this is more than over killing them. I received warnings about a nation from up north but they number up to barely a thousand.

“Sire, the preparations are ready, we await your orders.”

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Good, order the left division to begin their assault and the right division can start moving now.”

“Brilliant as always, sire.”

“Save the compliments for later, this isn’t even a challenge.”

“As expected of the great General Kolon.”

The plan is very simple, it’s just mass slaughtering the Crimeans and letting the soldiers have fun before fighting the Shino Kingdom. We need to be wary of this ‘Raquam,’ they recently contacted the Crimea Dukedom from the north, the freezing and uninhabitable northern seas with barely any land. The latest voyage towards the northern sea was 3 years ago, the fleet had 12 new generation ships, none return. The rumours of this ‘Raquam Empire’ having metallic ships can connect to their appearance from the freezing north.

“Sire, we should get moving now.”

Whilst deep in my thoughts, I was awoken by the voice of my aide. We will conquer the continent and make the Empire great no matter what.

“Let’s march forth! Glory to the Empire!”

“"""GLORY TO THE EMPIRE!!!!!!""""

And so, the great conquest began. But many historians would refer to this event as the beginning of a losing war, a big mark in the continent's history.

POV Crimean King

“Your Majesty, the enemy have made their move.”

“Send a messenger and tell the Lords to prepare for battle.”

“Right away, Your Majesty.”

The ‘Raquam Empire’ only sent 1,000 men and several weird carriages as reinforcement, will we truly win?

“Hey, hello?! Where do I go to meet the King?”

A familiar young, pitched sound reverberated into the strategy tent from outside.

“Young miss, what are you doing here? This isn’t a playground.”

“I’m not a kid, baka! I need to meet the King.”

“Why do you want to meet the King?-”

“Let her in.”

“Your Majesty! Letting a random child in is-”

“She’s the head of the Raquam forces stationed here to help us.”

A dumbfounded shock expression revealed on everyone’s faces, the sternest aides of the King allowed their expressions loose for a split second before returning to their stern, serious looks.

“Didn’t you hear His Majesty? Let her in.”

A short girl which looked around 10 entered, she wore a silky red cape and white uniform with multiple badges on her.

“Ah, hello again, uh, we want you to avoid entering the plains, we will deal with this ourselves.”

Everyone was outraged by the girl who stood before them.

“What is this?!”

“Are they trying to get us killed?”

“They’re secretly allying with the Malando Empire!”

“Silence!”

The surrounding suddenly began to quiet down upon my order for silence, the air was very intimidating with many murderous glares directed at Shiro.

“What do you mean by that?”

“You’ll only get in the way.”

Gossip began to go around, someone raised their voice amidst the gossip.

“What! Are you saying we’re too wea-”

“Silence!”

I once again raised my voice and silenced the tent. She was capable of defeating the battle junkie prince, the Royal knight commander might scratch her is he was lucky. The help of 1,000 soldiers similar in strength can be equivalent to 100,000.

“We will defend our towns and let you face the Malando Empire's army, withdraw all troops deployed on the fields.”

“Your Majesty, are you sure? We can’t trust her.”

“We have no chance of winning in the first place, we have nothing to lose from this.”

The words I uttered were true, we had no chance against so many foes. Hearing my words, the atmosphere began to turn gloomy amidst the chaos of people shouting outside of the tent.

“That’s all, the meeting ends here. Return to your posts.”

The day ends with the following day being remembered in history as the start of a fire that will change the continent.
