Chapter 6 - Shiro’s Journey Part 1
0100 - Operation Shiro Have Fun is a go! Sneaking onto a large royal carrier, I entered onto the aircraft carrier and ran towards the A6M Zero and hopped in, time to load it up!
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero slowly gained altitude and flew straight south to the continent, the people allocated in the command tower were asleep thanks to some magic.
The moon shined down as I passed through the clouds, the vast ocean below fascinated me, such a beautiful reflection of the crystal moon, the cold air didn’t affect me thanks to my magic but a simple glance outside was enough to make me shiver, this was the first time I’ve used an actual plane, sure I spent 400 hours flying in the 3D simulations but it was nothing compared to this.
While enjoying the scenery outside for several hours, I saw land straight ahead, the port town that I’ve previously visited. There’s only 1 problem left, I forgot how to land, actually, I have nowhere to land! Luckily I had a parachute prepared. While flying above a grass plain, I jumped out of the plane and parachuted, while slowly gliding, I saw some smoke rise in the distance, it will be fine…… I think. They’d probably mistaken it for a meteorite.
I walked towards the port town, I still had 5 silver coins left so I decided to sleep at the Fisherie Pavilion and by morning, I got on a carriage to the capital. I had a cloak on which hid my face and hair, the carriage cost 7 bronze so I still have 3 silver and 1 bronze coin left.
I looked outside through the gap and saw the peaceful field. I've previously seen nature before on the battlefield but this was something else. There was no need to worry about a sniper, there was no fire and there’s no mud, just peaceful farmers farming the fields.
The carriage passed through a forest, flashy green trees blocking the light, the sun passing through the gap in between the leaves and shone onto the carriage, it felt refreshing.
{Rattle}
A nearby bush made some noise, the carriage paused its movement, 2 large men jumped out of the carriage unsheathing their sword and approached the bush, a green humanoid creature with long ears popped out, it had a club on one arm and a large wooden plate on the other. The 2 knights skilfully cut down the green humanoid creature with their blades and were applauded by the passengers of the carriage, the 2 knights then boarded the carriage and continued.
The sun began to set as we headed towards a small town in the distance, upon entrance, we settled down at an inn, I ordered some crude bread to eat, it was as hard as a rock, the surrounding didn’t smell very nice, I quickly munched on my bread and headed to bed to rest.
The next morning, my butt began to ache, riding such a bumpy carriage wasn’t like the humvees with cushioned seats and suspension. The old granny who sat next to me began talking as the carriage pass through another forest.
“Hey, little miss, what are you going to do in the capital?”
She asked me using a low voice, it was difficult to hear but I heard most of what she said.
“I want to explore the capital, and have fun there.”
“The capital is very dangerous, be careful of certain adventurers, they’re very crude, my husband was betrayed by his party on a goblin subjugation once and died.”
“I’m sorry for your loss. May I ask, what’s an adventurer?”
“They’re like mercenaries that people hire for a job, like subjugating monsters and gathering herbs, the adventurer guild is everywhere, it has the most power on the continent, they have over 300,000 adventurers.”
“I see…”
This ‘Adventurer Guild’ might be fun to play around with. While talking to the granny, time quickly passed and the sun began to set, we arrived at another town but it’s much larger than the previous one. Upon entrance, I asked for directions to an adventurer guild.
“Lil miss, there’s one down south but be careful, some adventurers are dangerous and might harm you.”

Adventurers seem to have an infamous reputation, they’re kind of like the Mafia. I headed down south and saw a big sign with a sword and the words ‘adventurer guild’ on it. I entered and the surrounding reeks of alcohol, multiple buffed men stood around with an intimidating aura that could make a kid cry. I headed to what looked like a reception desk, there stood a girl with glasses and sharp eyes glaring at me.
“Hello there! Welcome to the Adventurer ‘s Guild! My name is Emillia, how may I help you?”
The girl, Emillia, said to me as I reached the reception desk, that professional smile shows that she was a veteran.
“I would like to register.”
“I’m sorry little miss, the required age for registration is 13.”
“I’m 14.”
“Oh, apologies, I will get it ready, if you pass the test, you can register. You can only take the test once every fortnight, may I ask you to tell us your preferred job? It can be something like a monk, priest and warrior.”
“Mage.”
“Eh? Mage? Wow, mages are rare in the Adventurer Guild, one would usually sign up to be a court mage. Please wait one sec, Will! We’ve got a new one, a mage at that!”
“WHAT!?”
A rough voice came from upstairs, running down a 1.9 metre buff looking man with multiple scars on his body, he had a surprised face upon seeing me.
“Listen here lil’ miss, you need to do more than cast a small fire to be a mage.”
“I can cast more than a small fire.”
“So just- wait, what!? Head to the training ground, show me your spells, if I find it lacking, you can’t register, okay?”
“Okay.”
I followed the buff man, he opened a door that was next to the stairs and on the other side was a large space with a sandy floor. There were multiple haystacks tied up to a stick to the far left, many were training until late night, honing their battle skills.
“Go over there and fire your best spell to burn the haystack down, the guild has barrier magic on the haystack so it’ll be fine.”
The buffed man called Will pointed at one of the haystacks and told me to fire one of my best spells. I decided to fire a powerful spell called crimson vortex.
“Crimson Vortex, I call for thee! To burn the enemy!”
While chanting, flames of many colours appeared and combined together heading towards the haystack at Mach 1.3 which caused a massive shock wave and a ringed everyone’s ear, I casted some sound nullification magic but it wasn’t enough to block everything. The haystack evaporated into air, not a single atom remained, everything within a 15m radius was gone.
““””Aaaargh!!””””
Everyone finally reacted and began crouching covering their head. Will was the first to recover.
“Hahahaha, apologies for doubting you earlier, I’m Will Ramin, former S ranked adventurer and guild master of the fief capital”
“I’m Shiro, just call me Shiro.”
“No last name? I thought you’d be some head royal mage or prodigy noble.”
“I’m travelling incognito.”
“Ah, I see. Well, your rank will be B, unfortunately you need to do some requests before being able to reach rank A.”
“Okay.”
Wait, the shock wave blew off my hood, my face is exposed right now! I quickly pulled up my hood and covered my face. We went back to the reception desk and Emillia gave me a gold card with my rank on it. I headed to the town’s inn and rested for the night without eating anything.
