This morning, I woke up with a hard time and I didn't expect to have so much work.

Already, when I entered a room, it took almost an hour for the quiet to return and for the teacher to start his lecture on magic.

What interested me was the language I knew and I could immediately see the grammatical errors. The medium was like a logic circuit based on a mana plane, in a field like electromagnetic but with its own dimension. In fact, if I applied my knowledge of fundamental physics to magic, I could become the most... Cleverest magician in the world... Obviously, I was...level..1..in mage and..level 7 general.

I hadn't killed much and I certainly wasn't OP!!!, meaning overpowered.

Yes, I could compensate, with mana generators, capacitors and other specifically intended artifacts or creations.

In one day, I had understood the basics and the rest was just a logical continuation.

But I stayed because there was also the mystical aspect which, in principle, borrowed the divine power to heal oneself for example. And here we were talking about devotion.

It was also an issue... faith... and there's nothing like a good faith to bring everybody together...

So the closest deity to Christianity was Miserica, the goddess of mercy, forgiveness and healing. A kind of cult to the Virgin Mary.

At the end of the course I was interested in being baptized in the cult of Miserica.

The next day Krator calmed down a bit and his brain started to assimilate.

The knight teaching heraldry had patience and what reassured Krator and the others was that the humans had also been difficult.

I reassured him that he was not behind, but it was just catching up.

Not everyone could read and he was learning like any other human.

The tension was always there when he was present, but the candidate knights gradually got used to us and some dared to talk to Kri and Kra, who were smaller and less scary.

When it was time to play or to steal, they were the first.

One of the squires proposed a "pact" of "complicity" to go and steal fruit pies.

He would distract the cooks while the wyverns would be on the ceiling stealing the pies.

This did not escape Romas' eye, as he too was a thief when he was still a young squire of Virgil "The Old Man".

He let it pass, thinking that a complicity would bring the young wyverns closer together and instil in them the meaning and value of life.

He also wanted to see the prowess and ability of these winged soldiers as potential thieves and murderers.

I was at a table with the "Old Man" at the top of his tower and we were talking about our integration into the empire.

"Only the emperor or empress can make a rule or law confirming that those of your tribe are recognised as citizens of the empire. Your system helps, and your behaviour is currently being analysed and our opinion will carry weight in the emperor's decision.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Also, you will have to inquire about becoming the tame companion of the second princess, Chlorophylle. She is of little value to the empire but of great value to me.

They think that if they hand her over to a dragon, she will be eaten. Prove them wrong."

"But, Sire, if they hate her...and I am her companion...they will resent me and reject our request.."

"The Queen hates the second princess from a first marriage. She is technically the heir, but since she has the first princess as a daughter, she has pushed Chlorophyll to second rank, arguing that she is weak and has little or no mana, thus unable to ever become the heir. Moreover, the nobles support her and avoid any contact with the second princess.

She is bullied and left almost to her own devices. Accidents often happen and she has miraculously escaped death several times... Like pushing her down the stairs or waxing the steps so that she falls or breaks her head.

You will be her pet and you will be my eyes and ears. I want to know everything and if there is a plot against her or the emperor.

Her father loves her very much but is being influenced by his new companion.

Do you understand what I am saying? Mir?"

"Yes, sire... you can count on me"

"So, I want you to have the basics in magic and detecting enchantments and curses... Then your faith... you need to learn healing magic... I know your knowledge but the technology here is not much more advanced than in the renaissance, basically medicine is butchery.."

I nodded.

"Good, Mir."

Let's see what you can do now with basic magic.

"Spectral Eye" Describe to me what it does..

I... It's hard... This spell establishes a visual link between the caster and a skeleton or zombie within the spell's range. The spell allows the caster to see what the undead creature sees as if looking through the creature's eyes. The spell also allows the creature to follow the wizard's commands (each command can be up to four words long). If the creature or caster moves beyond the range of this spell, the effects are nullified. If the caster has infravision, he also sees what the creature sees with infravision. The magical link created by this spell does not allow the caster to use the undead creature as a focus for casting spells; thus, the caster would not be able to cast a fireball spell whose range is calculated from the location of the undead creature. The material components of this spell are a carefully preserved human eye and the eye of another creature renowned for its exceptional visual abilities."

"Well... Tell me about the SLEEP spell, the most powerful for your level."

"Uh... sleep : Enchantment/Charm

When a magic user casts a sleep spell, they usually cause one or more creatures ~other than undead and certain other creatures specifically excluded from the spell's effects- to fall into a comatose sleep. All creatures affected by the sleep spell must be within a circle 2 metres in diameter. The number of creatures that can be affected is based on their life energy level.

"Well... You have to learn about ten more spells of your level and then you will go to the capital. Krator will stay here to become a mercenary and your brother and sisters will stay here until they have proven that they have empathy and have created emotional bonds and friendship."

Me: "And those who don't want to become mercenaries...?"

"I wish they would become dragon hunters. Basically so as not to offend you, a wyvern police brigade in the words of our ancient world."

Then they will go and teach your tribe what they have learned and others will come here to train if all goes well. Your parents included...

But, Mir... I won't hide it from you... you must understand... 15 adults and their young, let's say 30 dragons of 25 meters in the valley... it's unbearable... You'll have to disperse in the empire or go to an imperial dragonry. I don't see you managing cattle in a mountain forest.

In the fertile valleys, maybe, but you'll have to live with the farmers and above all cohabit.

"And... Sire... can't we cast a spell to... shrink and eat less or even be humanoid in size?"

The "Old Man" began to smile. "Yes. That's the solution...! You'll have to help yourself with your system and get a humanoid form, like the lizardmen" or by enchantment. The spell is called Polymorphism and you have to reach level 8 mage circle, the spell being level 4.

Otherwise, there are rare and expensive artefacts, but for the princess, nothing is too expensive.

And it just so happens that... by the way... how old are you?"

"One year, Sire.."

"If I polymorph you... you will be a baby lizard... carried by the princess..." No.. But you can learn reverse magnification and make yourself smaller, "

"How old is the princess?"

"Thirteen... and at fourteen, she'll be old enough to get married..."

Immediately, I had guilty thoughts and started to blush. A baby wyvern cuddled and pampered by a princess. Sharing a room...

I shook my head. "NO!"
