Peculiar Sleepover Part Two

Peculiar Sleepover Part Two

"Perfect. Hey, Mikka! Mind borrowing some storybooks from the shelf over there?" Kino asked, pointing to the said bookshelf right at the corner of the room.

"Go ahead and pick. Five books would suffice." Mikka remarked, giving permission for her precious collection. Kino headed over to the shelf, about to grab five books as Mikka suggested

"Just grab the first five books that you see so we can get started." Lawrence said impatiently and Kino did grab five storybooks he first spotted then place the books at the center of where they sleep. The eight friends placed their sleeping mats in a circular order, not in a straight line so that the storybooks which are at the center will be equally near all of them. Afterwards, Mikka handed each of them the vial.

"Bottoms up, dear friends." Kino said, raising his vial and acting like they were drinking alcohol. The eight friends started drinking the potion, up to the very last drop.

"It tastes like cheese." David remarked. He didn't expect the taste would be like that but he's surprised by the look of his friends.

"Cheese? It tastes like candy to me." Akari said as she tilted her head to the side in confusion.

"I agree, it tastes so sweet like candy." Kino nods at his statement

"Cheese and candy? Why does it taste like cherries?" Mikka said, confused at whatever's happening.

"I don't know. It tastes like wine to me." Lawrence shrugged, couldn't care less if the potion taste differently

"Same with me. It's like rose wine to be exact." Charlize agreed with Lawrence but Yuki and Juvy simultaneously said "Tastes like chicken."

"Well, this potion is starting to take effect." Mikka said as yawns. The eight friends started to lie down and close their eyes. Charlize is about to put down the manual but she noticed something at the back of the paper. Her eyes widened as she read this. "Guys!-"

Then it's all black. Darkness surrounds them.

David opened his eyes, only to see a village full of-

"RATS! Rats are everywhere!" David heard a villager scream in panic and saw a swarm of rats appeared from every side of the road. He looked around to find his friends but he only saw rats and some villagers running around.

"Hey! Pied Piper! Do your thing and fix this mess." David heard another villager pointing at him who David thinks is the village chief given by how the person gives off an aura of a leader. 'Wait... Pied Piper? Me?'

"Who's the Pied Piper? Is it me?" David asked as he points at himself and the village chief sighed deeply

"Are you blind or just dumb? Isn't that a pipe you're holding in your hand?" The village chief said and David just realized he was holding a pipe thinking 'Oh, shit. I am the Pied Piper.' Seeing how he is in pied clothing; he is pretty much convinced. The sleeping potion must have let them be characters of the storybooks they selected. That explains why his potion tastes like cheese.

"What are you waiting for? Use your magic pipe and lure the rats to the river to drown them. Your music can control creatures so play the damn pipe!" the village chief demanded, making David annoyed at how impatient the village chief was but it's understandable, the village must be saved.

And so, David started playing his pipe. Honestly, he doesn't know how to play in the first place but seeing that it's a magic pipe, David tried just to blow the pipe and let the magic work. He focuses his mind on the rats as he plays, aiming for it to be the target of the magic. Once the rats heard this, they stopped moving then formed a straight line right behind at David, following him who was heading towards the nearest river he could find; just like how the original story goes. But he's been walking for a while and he couldn't find any river nearby. He had no choice but to improvise so he looked around, finding any place to lead the rats then he found a cliff. 'Perfect!'

Then he walked near the edge of the cliff, he saw some branch near to the cliff so he kept playing the magic pipe then jumped to the branch. The rats followed him, falling to their death. Afterwards, David climbed back up.

After the whole situation was solved, David returned to the village to find his friends. The village chief found him first and gave David his thanks but he says he's not going to pay him which David expected.

"Whatever, pops. You do you. I'm going to find my friends." David said as he waves goodbye. 'Kino is the only one who knows which stories we entered into. Mikka loves fairytales so I guess the stories we entered are fairytales too which means my best choice to find them is the forest. A bunch of fairy tales happened in the forest.' David headed out to the nearest forest he could find.

"Mikka! Akari! Kino! Lawrence! Charlize! Juvy! Yuki! Where are you guys?" David called out to his friends as he wandered around in the forest. Then he heard the bushes rustling, making him alert. He took a closer look at where the sounds came from, turns out it was-

"Mikka! Watch out!" David warns Mikka who is in a red hood and right behind her is the ferocious big bad wolf who is about to gobble her. David quickly played his magic pipe to enchant the wolf, stopping the big bad wolf from getting near Mikka. Now that David enchanted the wolf, Mikka punched the lights out of him, knocking the wolf out.

"Nice right hook." David said as he mimicked Mikka's punch to the wolf. Mikka just rolled her eyes at David
