Inside the Darkest Mirrors: Yoshida-Lasrefel

“Worry not, Ena-dono I'll soon recover thee!” was the first thing the thaumikitsune said upon arriving in the Lesser Mirror. However, soon things were taking an odd turn. Once he had collected enough thread that the scenery began to change, he found himself in an ordinary Pririponian girl's room. He knew he was still inside the Lesser Mirror, but having spent a lot of time with Yashiro Hina in one such room he couldn't help feeling a little nostalgic. That was when it had first transformed. Now however, the cute dolls and plush toys were glaring daggers at him and raising their arms to summon spells.

“What say we discuss this over tea instead?” He tried lamely.

A pair of twin dolls dropped their arms and two spells came hurtling at him, one of fire the other of ice. His two halves retreated in opposite directions, then once he was clear of danger they snapped back to their normal positions.

“I suppose that was a stretch even for myself...”

He decided to ignore the vicious toys and focus on the thread. It was the single most intense and deadly game of dodge-ball he had ever played.

The entire Lesser Mirror appeared to be mimicking Yoshida Ena's house. Lasrefel had been there with Hina many times, so he was able to gather the thread quite quickly, but finding a way to the Greater Mirror, which is what he assumed he was supposed to do after collecting all the thread in the Lesser Mirror, was proving difficult. He finally decided to check one of the bathrooms. He was quite taken aback when one of the walls was void-like, and upon that wall sat a silver mirror that had never been in Ena's house!

He approached the mirror, and stared into it. A pair of eyes, then a whole figure appeared in the pitch black surface. His eyes widened and he tried to call the name attached to that frame, but a hand reached out of the mirror and silenced him. Had it not been who it was, he would've been terrified by that. Instead he obediently stayed quiet. The figure motioned downwards, so he crouched. From the mirror a blast of chaotic magic obliterated the wall behind him. His eyes wide he peered over his tail, shaking. A shadowy undefined being rose out of the chaos, and a malevolent aura shrouded them.

He looked back to the mirror to confirm who it was, but the mirror was gone. He looked back at the shadowy thing, which had moved significantly closer when he looked away. In fact, as he looked at it, it seemed almost frozen. Its form wavered every now and again, but otherwise as long as his eyes were fixed on it, it remained frozen.

He then saw the most startling truth, a thread connecting the ghostly entity to the disk he held.

“Ah...So I must destroy its core, simple enough,” he said, not thinking it was simple at all. Would spells even effect this ghost-looking creature?

“Well, first thing's first!” he leapt in such a way that all the symbols of the quartet of diamonds faced the ghost at once. From them, and his eyes, white light flashed forwards in powerful purification spell.

The ghost didn't seem to change much.

“Right well, that could've been better. But here we are, so I'll just have to make do!”

He turned around, this time doing it with only his tail and feelers, he felt the ghost right behind him, sending shivers all throughout, but this time the purification spell hit home, the unearthly creature shreiking while backing away.

“You're not getting away!” with his eyes shut tight, Lasrefel created blades of light on his tail and feelers, and did a flurry of expert cuts. The ghost dropped to its incorporeal knees and let out a soft moan before it vaporized. Lasrefel quickly collected the energy and the disk let out a chattering sound!

“Oh, looks like that did it!”

Yoshida Ena appeared in a flash of light, absorbing the disk into her body.

She immediately leapt on Lasrefel, “Lassy! I missed you! What's going on!?”

“Can't...breath....also...the name....is 'Lasrefel'...Call me 'Lassy' again and...Hnggg...”

“Ah, sorry!” Ena said and let go, “But really, what is happening?”

“We're rescuing thee silly lasses from these Lesser Mirrors thee got thyselves trapped in.”

Ena looked ashamed, but nodded and followed Lasrefel as he briefed her on the current situation. Soon they arrived at the Greater Mirror.
