"Look, is there a reason you have beefwith me or something? Because your attitude's kinda making me curious." I asked her, curious as to why she seemed so spiteful towards me.
Maki just laughed a little in response to my question, before saying, "You're seriously wondering why I'm annoyed with you, huh? You really are completely oblivious to everything around you."
This comment caught me by surprise, as I wasn't expecting her to straight up admit that she had a problem with me.
"Well, yeah, I guess that's true..." I admitted back, feeling quite embarrassed about my obliviousness.
"You know, I thought you were just dumb and clumsy, but it turns out you're also pretty selfish." Maki responded back, once again insulting my oblivious personality.
I couldn't help but feel a bit defensive about her comment, as she was outright insulting my personality with no holds barred.
"Hey, how am I selfish? I haven't really done anything that's considered selfish." I argued back, not wanting to just sit and take her insults without trying to stand up for myself.
"You seriously can't tell? Wow, you really are so clueless about everything, aren't you?" She mocked me further, clearly not caring whether or not she was being too harsh.
"Okay, how am I supposed to know if nobody has ever really told me about myself before?" I responded back in an annoyed tone, feeling a bit frustrated with her attitude.
I couldn't help but get the feeling as if she was holding something back from me, and that she had some kind of expectation for me to know my own shortcomings.
Our conversation was cut off as we reached our classroom, and all of the students began to file in for the start of the next class.
I quickly took my seat, as Maki walked to her own seat a few seats away from me.
Our class got off to a pretty normal start, and everyone sat around quietly while the teacher walked to the front to take attendance.
Maki was also sitting pretty still, not speaking a single word to anyone. She just kept looking forward as if she didn't want to involve herself with anyone else.
The teacher finished taking attendance and then started the lesson. It was a pretty typical day in this class, with nothing out of the ordinary happening.
"Oh, by the way, class... if I may make an announcement." The teacher suddenly said after a few minutes of lecture.
The whole class turned to look at the teacher upon hearing this announcement, wondering what he had to say.
"Some of you may already be aware of this, but..." The teacher paused for a moment before continuing.
"Starting next week, I'll be introducing the new student council members." There were a few gasps from the students around the room upon hearing this, as we were all curious to see what kind of people the teachers would choose for the student council.
"Now, of course, we'll be having an election to decide the final roster for the student council. But I wanted to take the chance to tell everyone that students are able to put forth a nomination for themselves or someone else they see fitting..."
Almost as if on cue, numerous hands started to shoot up from all around the room.
"So, everyone's already got someone in mind for the student council?" The teacher asked amusedly, noticing the sudden outburst of hands raised.
"Of course! We all know a good number of people who are well-equipped for that kind of role." One of the students immediately responded back, sounding incredibly confident in his answer.
"Alright, well we'll be letting everyone nominate people to put into the student council election until the end of the week. Please be sure to nominate people who you think would do the job well." The teacher added on, continuing the announcement for the nomination process.
It seemed as if the teacher was just about to end the announcement when another student raised their hand, trying to get his attention.
The teacher looked over and noticed the raised hand, giving the student a look as if he was giving them permission to speak.
"Teacher, I would like to nominate a certain someone for the student council..." the student said in a rather confident voice, indicating that he already had someone in mind for the role.
"Now, you're probably wondering who it is... right?" The student continued, with a slight smirk on his face as he looked at the entire class with suspense.
"Alright..." The student paused for a moment, clearly enjoying the suspense he had built up among everyone around the room.
After what felt like an eternity, the student finally revealed the name of the person he had nominated.
"Of course, my choice is Sora Anno." The student proudly proclaimed, with a mischievous smirk on his face.
"I bet you can all guess why I nominated Sora." The student said with a smug smile on his face, looking pretty proud of himself for being the one to nominate the school's princess.
The murmur continued for a while longer, as everyone started to think about the reasoning behind the student's nomination.
The teacher decided to break the silence by speaking up.
"Okay, now that we know one of the nominations, I hope the rest of you all can come up with some names for the other student council positions."
The murmur finally started to die down a bit as everyone seemed to be lost in thought about potential candidates for the student council besides Sora.
The teacher decided to continue with the lecture, as there didn't seem to be anything else of note to mention regarding the student council election.
After the lecture, everyone gathered up their belongings and left the classroom, as it was officially time for sports class.
Maki was one of the first ones out, quickly fleeing out of the room. It was clear that she had no interest in staying around for sports class.

I took my sweet time, as I wasn't really in that much of a hurry to leave. I slowly packed my things before slowly heading out of the classroom.
Upon walking outside, I instantly noticed the girls all heading into the locker room for changing, while the boys were leaving for the gym.
Sora was also one of the girls heading into the locker room, and I noticed her as I was leaving.
I figured I could talk to Sora after the gym session, and so I didn't bother her at the moment. I walked over to the boys' locker room, getting ready to change for the gym class as well.
I walked into the boys' locker room and started to change into my gym attire. I didn't really talk to anyone as I was focusing mainly on getting ready for sports class.
But then the murderous stares from the Sora chan fan club boys started happening again
I had almost completely forgotten about the existence of the Sora chan fan club boys, but it seems like they hadn't. They were still giving me those murderous stares for looking at their "beloved princess" in what they thought was an inappropriate manner.
I quickly finished changing, grabbing my bag as I headed out of the locker room. I was heading towards the gym when, all of a sudden, I felt a tug on my arm.
I was taken by surprise, as I didn't expect anyone to stop me right before the gym class began.
I quickly turned around to see who had pulled on my arm, hoping it wasn't one of the fan club boys trying to cause trouble again.
Upon turning around, my eyes instantly widened when I saw Sora was standing behind me. She was holding a gym bag in her other hand, clearly having just come out of the girls' locker room.
I instantly froze in shock, unsure of what to say or do as Sora was staring dead at me.
Sora was the last person I expected to bump into right now, and my mind went completely blank upon her sudden appearance.
"U-um... do you need something?" I muttered out, completely flustered as I tried to keep my composure in front of the school's beloved princess.
Sora simply stood there, staring at me in silence for a bit, before finally responding after what felt like an eternity. "Oh... n-no nothing, it's just..."
"I... I just wanted to ask you a thing, i-if you don't mind..." She quickly added on, sounding completely out of her comfort zone as she tried to force out the words.
As the princess started to struggle with her words, I was feeling incredibly intrigued as to what she wanted to ask me about.
"Sure, what is it?" I responded back politely, trying to encourage her to speak more easily.
" let's have lunch again today" she responded . I was taken aback by her sudden request, as I didn't expect Sora to ask me out to lunch once again after last time.
"O-oh... um, yeah, I'd love to. I'd be more than happy to have lunch with you." I responded back, feeling both excited and extremely surprised by the princess' sudden request.
Sora actually smiled a bit after hearing my answer, looking more comfortable talking to me now that I had agreed to her lunch invite.
"Okay, great. I guess I'll be waiting for you after class then." She added on, before letting go of my arm and heading to the gym to join the rest of the girls for their sports class.
I was still feeling stunned by her sudden request, as I never thought I'd receive such an invitation after how things ended last time.
I looked at Sora as she walked away, and I couldn't help but wonder if she actually wanted to hang out with me or if she was just being too nice to reject my request.
I also had no idea why she would want to have lunch with me again, especially after we had never actually gotten the chance to discuss anything meaningful last time.
" so you're friends with the princess?" Said maki appearing all of the sudden behind me
Maki suddenly appearing from behind caught me off-guard, since I thought I was still alone at the moment.
"What? Wait, were you there the whole time?" I quickly turned around to face Maki, suddenly feeling awkward all over again at the thought of her witnessing my whole interaction with Sora.
Maki just gave me a smug smile, clearly enjoying the fact that she had caught me off-guard with her sudden appearance.
"But yeah, Sora's the one who invited me out to lunch today, so I guess you could say we're sort of friends" I tried to respond casually, avoiding eye contact with Maki as to not let her know just how much her sudden interruption had affected me.
" using her first name huh? "
" I guess both of you are a lot closer than what I thought" said Maki San
"Wait, w-well... I mean, we had lunch together that one time..." I replied back, feeling myself becoming flustered again as Maki continued to dig in further.
"But no, we aren't really close. I mean, we talk sometimes... but..."
"Wow, way to get flustered over the princess, you don't exactly sound too enthusiastic." Maki then commented, sounding a little amused with the whole situation.
"But hey, if you really aren't that close to her, then why did she invite you out to lunch twice already? Sounds like something a girl would do if she was interested in someone." She added on, clearly enjoying the idea of teasing me about my interaction with Sora.
My embarrassment level instantly shot through the roof as she finished speaking, and my cheeks turned bright red.
"W-well, um, that..." I stuttered, not really knowing how to respond to that accusation.
It was true that Sora had invited me out twice already. However, it was unclear whether she did it out of kindness or because she had some sort of hidden motive.
" Ew, now you're making me cringe"
"Ugh, just drop it, would you?" I snapped back at her, feeling slightly annoyed at the teasing and teasing.
I was already uncomfortable enough talking to Maki about Sora, and she certainly wasn't making things any easier with her playful comments.
"Alright, I'll stop, I'll stop. It's just a bit amusing seeing you get flustered, that's all." Maki finally replied back with a smirk on her face, finally deciding to drop the whole topic and change the conversation.
Soon enough sports class ended and I gave maki San a slight glare for her annoying behavior before, but I was also kind of glad that she had dropping the whole thing.
"Anyway, you gonna go and eat lunch with your princess now?" She asked, sounding pretty sarcastic, making it feel like she was still taunting me behind that casual tone.
"W-w-well... yeah, I am. I should probably get going sooner rather than later." I quickly responded, feeling a bit uncomfortable about calling her my "princess" but not really feeling like arguing with Maki over it right now.
"Yeah, do that. Just don't keep her waiting or anything, or she'll have her knights after you." Maki replied back with a smirk, giving me one last look of teasing before letting me go.
Does she mean her fan club !
I stepped out of the boys' locker room and began making my way to the cafeteria, hoping to meet Sora there. The fact that it was lunch break should give us some time to eat and maybe even chat a bit before heading back to class.
She's not here huh?
I still wasn't sure whether Sora had any other plans in mind than just eating together. She had never mentioned anything about what we could do after lunch, and I wondered if the lunch date really meant nothing more than that.
The rooftop was our go-to spot for a lot of our encounters, as it was the perfect place away from the school to have some privacy and be alone together.
As I walked up the stairs to reach the rooftop I couldn't help but feel a bit of anticipation and anxiety, not really knowing what to expect from our little outing.
I was hoping to get a chance to spend some time with Sora, and I wanted to see if she had anything more in mind than just eating lunch together.
As I went to open the rooftop door I heard a shout " I love you!"
Huh?
" I love you Sora Anno ! Could you please go out with me?"
It was the voice of a boy? And wait ! Is he confessing to Sora chan?
I froze in my tracks as I heard a boy's voice loudly shouting out a confession to Sora.
My mind quickly shifted into high gear, desperately trying to process these sudden developments.
Was that boy who was confessing to Sora someone she knew? And was it one of her so-called "knights", as Maki would say?
" Sorry..but I'm - "
What is she gonna say? ...if she accepts then - I guess I'm gonna go back to being..alone?
Well not that I wasn't used to it already - she's a strong girl she knows what she's doing!
Did I just hear right? Did Sora just turn away a confession from a boy?
The fact that she didn't get flustered or accept the confession immediately felt odd considering she's the school's princess and should be used to receiving constant confessions from guys all week.
"But I'm-" she started, as if she wanted to say something else after rejecting his confession.
