Chapter 03 : First day at Milma

Chapter 03 : First day at Milma

Joy sat down on the ground, pondering what he could do in the meantime. He had around 2 hours until the world entrance process. He started to test the other commands.

'Skills!'

'Oh! True that. I guess that's why, once she saw you are a Unique system, she suggested me to communicate with you to sort things. She didn't teach me other commands afterward.'

'So I am intelligent, huh? Thanks for the compliment.'

Skills:

Basic swordsmanship(Common): The art of swinging swords.

Triple Slash(Common): Three slashes in a particular interval and in different angles with perfect synchronization to prevent the enemy from dodging.

Sonic Slash(Common): The skill of charging into the enemy and slashing through them at a very high speed.

Uppercut(Common): A simple uppercut with the sword hilt.

Vertical Slash(Common): A simple vertical slash with the sword.

Horizontal Arc(Common): A simple horizontal arc with the sword.

Leap(Common): A simple jump towards the enemy.

Seven Sins(Rare): Seven consecutive sword maneuvers with movement arts combined. Upgradable.

Fall of the sky(Rare): A skill consists of three movements. Leaping towards the enemy, a mid-air rotation, and slashing towards the enemy location. Upgradable.

Leadership(Uncommon): The art of leading the warriors into battle. Default to all the pioneers. Upgradable.

'It looks nice. Doesn't it?'

'According to your previous statements, that means trillions of living beings is still on par with me. That will surely boost my spirit.'

'Yes. You do until it kills me in the process.'

'You could have already done that. I was wondering what the points denote. That little girl didn't say anything regarding that.'

Total silence engulfed Joy. No one responded. He felt something was off. He suddenly sensed too much muteness around him. He was in an isolated space, where not even a single noise was present. Once the system stopped responding, his ears suddenly felt it. He was never used to this calm atmosphere. Since he was born, he loved to linger with his family. His father was a raider, who died during the initial raids. Others said he was a deserter, and killed by a simple mob while running back. But Joy knew he was a brave soldier and a leader. His whole party got wiped out. So no one could obtain the actual intel, and the higher-ups put all the blames on his father's shoulder.

Joy became a raider to fulfill his dad's wish. He wanted to keep his family and loved ones safe. He ventured into the dungeons one after another. He could only survive through all those raids because of Sree. She was the one who saved his ass multiple times. At first, he was hesitant to bring her along. But he gave up in front of her persistence. He knew one thing that she wanted to help him. In the process, she became the magic hands, the best healer in the world. It was her idea to gather capable young seeds and formed Pegasys. So whatever Joy became after so much struggle, it was because of Sree. Without her, he could stay at the bottom only. One by one, thousands of scenes and strifes occupied his mind.

Joy jolted back to reality. He was engrossed in his memories.

'Whoa, you scared me. SP? Nice. But would you care to explain the point system?'

The system teased Joy and mimicked him in the last line. Joy was happy to hear the voice again, as the dead silence around him faded away.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

He prepared the jade and touched it with his blood as directed by the system. Light burst forth from the jade then quickly faded away.

'Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What are these?'

I am in a hurry, as I have got an urgent summoning back to my world. I came late as well. This is meager compensation for both. I hope it will give you a boost against other pioneers. Don't lose the face of your instructor. See you in the next round, Joy.

Remember one last thing. The rewards of the systems are not given out of thin air. Even we don't know from where these rewards come from. Just don't be greedy over those.

~Jax(Your instructor)>

'I won't have time once I reach there. Do you want to give me some good advice in advance?'

<...>

The eerie silence engulfed Joy's mind again.

'Now what?'

'Seriously? Actually, I always fantasized about a twin brother inside my mind. Today my wish is being completed actually. Hehe.'

<...>

'Stop pretending, you are likely en-'

Before Joy could finish, he felt his understanding of space and time had started to dilute. After experiencing it for the 3rd time, he understood one thing. He was getting habituated of the space warp. Within seconds, he regained his senses in the middle of a large space.

He was standing in front of a dimly lit large ball of intense energy. It was the same as the door he used to reach the Copy of the Universal Library. But the shape was different, and the glowing intensity was lower. He was standing in the middle of a large vacant space. There were neither crude walls nor any mazes. A wall of light was the boundary of the empty space. He was disappointed. That means he had to start from scratch. He had to build all the way from the land to structures. He crossed the light walls and found himself outside the hall. He looked back and discovered a homesick feeling. He sighed. From outside, it was the exact replica of his home.

He looked around and found it was the same territory he wished for. The gorge was very small, only fitting his house. It was naturally guarded by steep hills from 3 sides, and only one opening was there. There was a forest outside that opening. There was an energy dome, protecting his surroundings from the dormant stage the world was in. He had to hurry, as he had limited time to prepare. He needed to finish preparing.

He went inside the Dungeon again.

'Obtain all the controls. I don't want multiple systems. Especially dumb ones. It will hinder my way of working.'

'Show me available buildings.'

A crude structure with magical engravings to offer soul points in exchange for bringing lingering souls from voids. With luck, you may attract souls with great potential.>

'Alter is a place of utmost importance. It must be placed in the most secure region. There is another structure with a similar level of importance. The portal. I would like to put the alter near the portal.'

Joy approached the area and pointed out a location 2 feet away from the portal. The portal was situated in the middle of the room. Once the place was selected, a blinding magical light shone. A crude stone structure could be seen a couple of feet away from the portal. He approached the stone altar and asked the system to display the options. He was mesmerized by the engravings on the alter. He thought of something and determined to learn the engraving process as he wanted to build the same structure in his homeland.

'How the hell am I going to summon builders and soldiers if the amount of points required is so high?'

'Umm. Ok. Let's start with the summons gifted by Jax.'

An advanced worker. Under his leadership, all the regular and rare workers will work faster and generate more BP. BP generation of workers under his influence is double.

An advanced worker. Zoroth has a vast understanding of runes and engravings. Professions like researchers, rune-engravers, magical blacksmith, and others will work more efficiently. CP generation of workers under his influence is double.

Rank: Novice

Type: Wisdom>

As Joy was reading the descriptions, two men walked towards him from the alter. He found out the structure of both figures was totally different. Kosax was bulky and well built. But Zoroth was very timid looking and shy.

"Greetings, my lord. I am Kosax. I have been wandering in the void as a soul for who knows how long. Thanks for giving me rebirth. I will carry out all the projects to make your establishment powerful", Kosax greeted while putting a hand near his heart.

"Greetings, my lord. My name is Zoroth. I was lucky to be nearby and responded to your call immediately. I was wandering around the void for thousands of years. Thank you for saving me. I will carry out all the projects given to me duly", though Joy could tell he was a perfect leader material, Zoroth didn't mention that.

Joy pointed to a place and instructed. "Wait there. I will give you all the brief once all the summonings are done".

'Proceed with the Primary Summoning.'

'Proceed. I need more workforce from the beginning.'

'I guess I have exhausted all my lucks. Proceed with the daily summoning.'

'Nice job. Lady luck has forgotten me completely. Tell me how to generate the environment. Without a proper environment, my workers can't build without soil, can't breathe without air. Huh? How am I breathing?'

'How much EP required to build the environment that can cover the whole Dungeon?'

<1 EP is required to create the environment and land in 1 cubic meter. All primary dungeons are 100 cubic meters.>

<100 EP required to create the environment and land. Do you wish to proceed?>

'Is it luck or coincidence or the best gift? Jax gave me exactly 100EP. How nice of her. How can I gain more EP?'

'Killing will be easy, I guess. That's something to worry for a later time. Proceed with Environmental creation.'

'Can we create a basic ecosystem like in a forest ?'

'Convert 50 cubic meter of land, along the border on the front side into a dense forest and create a basic ecosystem all over the dungeon. I will create a full-fledged ecosystem in the forest soon. The forest will provide primary protection against the incoming raiders, as well as woods needed to develop the projects. Let's convert SP and build it first. We need to make it early.'

Once he completed the terraforming and ecosystem creation process, he put his attention to the workers. He saw Zoroth was taking glances at the engravings of the alter. Joy smiled a little and nodded. Right now, Zoroth won't be able to help anyway. He needed to build the structures first before allowing Zoroth to work.

"Zoroth, you won't be able to get any helpers, for today at least. But you can go ahead and take a look at the alter. If you can discover something, then that will help all of us in the future."

"Se... Seriously, my lord? Am I able to take a look at those runes?" Zoroth could not hold his excitement. Joy motioned him to take his place and start the research. He had many plans crushing inside his head regarding this shy guy.

"Now, Kosax. We have much to discuss."

"Yes, my Lord. I will duly complete your orders."

"No, I don't want you to follow my orders only. We will get many workers for that. I want you to take charge of the projects."
