Chapter 19 - Being stalked

"Don't rush! I didn't say I wouldn't trade. I'll take the pills, and this talisman is yours! But, brother, you really know how to do business!"

The Chu-named female cultivator swayed her hips and tucked the porcelain bottle into her bosom.

Then, she reached out and picked up a Top Grade Level One Defense Talisman from the stall, handing it to Su Shi'er. As she gave it to him, her fingers lightly brushed against his palm.

"Brother, take a look, is there anything else you want? You can buy some more to take back!"

Su Shi'er's palm tingled, and he quickly tucked the talisman into his chest, his face turning red. He had never been close to women, and the woman in front of him was so charming and alluring.

The fact that he didn't embarrass himself on the spot already showed he had quite some self-control!

The next second, he took a deep breath, trying to calm his rapidly beating heart.

His gaze fell on the stall, looking at the talismans and talisman books. After some thought, he selected twenty-four Mid Grade Level One Talismans and two introductory books on talisman crafting.

"How much for these?"

"Ten Foundation Pills per Mid Grade Level One Talisman, and fifty Foundation Pills per book. Altogether, that's three hundred and forty Foundation Pills!" The Chu-named female cultivator quickly said, her eyes occasionally glancing over Su Shi'er.

"Sister, I'm buying so much from you, can't you give me a discount? How about three hundred Foundation Pills?" Su Shi'er scratched his head, smiling as he haggled.

"You already bought the Top Grade Talisman, and you're still bargaining with me?" The Chu-named female cultivator said with a playful smile.

"How can I not? This is all I have left." Su Shi'er shrank his neck, looking honest and sincere.

"Alright, three hundred it is!" The Chu-named female cultivator smiled sweetly and nodded in agreement.

Su Shi'er paid for the pills happily, tucked everything away, and turned to leave.

Having bought these things, he felt he had gained quite a lot from this trip. He still had some Foundation Pills left and wanted to look for books on cultivation techniques.

Just as Su Shi'er left, the turbaned youth who had been holding a sword hurried over.

Seeing the empty sandalwood box, the turbaned youth frowned and quickly asked the Chu-named female cultivator, "Sister Chu, where's the Top Grade Level One Defense Talisman?"

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"Sold it!" The Chu-named female cultivator replied nonchalantly, her eyes still on Su Shi'er in the crowd.

"What? Did a Senior Brother or Sister at the sixth level of Qi Refining or above come by?" The turbaned youth frowned, looking a bit annoyed.

"No, it was a Junior Brother at the fourth level of Qi Refining." The Chu-named female cultivator waved her hand and said immediately.

"Sister Chu, you must be joking. A Junior Brother at the fourth level of Qi Refining could afford Gathering Qi Pills? And three of them?" The turbaned youth looked incredulous.

"Why would I lie to you? Take a look." The Chu-named female cultivator grinned, opened the porcelain bottle, and showed it to the turbaned youth.

"What? Mid Grade Gathering Qi Pills?" The turbaned youth was shocked.

"That Junior Brother must have quite a few Gathering Qi Pills on him." The Chu-named female cultivator said with a half-smile.

"Are you sure?" The turbaned youth was skeptical.

"Hmph, what's there to be unsure about!" The Chu-named female cultivator raised her hand, and another medicine bottle appeared in her hand.

Inside the bottle was another Mid Grade Gathering Qi Pill.

If Su Shi'er were here, he would have been shocked. This Mid Grade Gathering Qi Pill was the extra one he had prepared.

"It seems Sister Chu's sleight of hand is getting better!"

Seeing the two Mid Grade Gathering Qi Pills, the turbaned youth's expression changed, and his breathing became rapid. He quickly stepped back and, in a low voice, asked the Chu-named female cultivator, "Sister Chu, which Junior Brother bought the talisman?"

"What are you planning? Don't forget, the sect's rules strictly prohibit internal conflicts among disciples." The Chu-named female cultivator said sternly.

"Sister Chu, what are you saying? I just want to get to know that Junior Brother." The turbaned youth laughed awkwardly, hesitated for a moment, and then took out a Low Grade Gathering Qi Pill from his bosom and handed it to her.

"In that case, it's no problem. It's that one over there, with the beast-skin sword pouch on his back."

Seeing the Gathering Qi Pill, the Chu-named female cultivator's eyes narrowed into slits as she discreetly accepted the pill and pointed to Su Shi'er in the crowd not far away.

"Thank you, Sister Chu!"

The turbaned youth showed a look of joy, thanked her, and turned to follow Su Shi'er from a distance.

Behind the stall, the Chu-named female cultivator's eyes darted around as she packed up all the items on the stall. With a pat on her waist, everything disappeared. Then, she hurriedly walked in the opposite direction.

Su Shi'er walked leisurely through the crowd, completely unaware that he had lost another Mid Grade Gathering Qi Pill.

He looked around for a full hour, seeing many rare treasures.

Among them, a cultivator was even selling a Low Grade spatial Ritual Artifact, a Storage Bag.

The Storage Bag had a ten-cubic storage space, comparable to a small personal room, incredibly magical. Of course, the price wasn't cheap, marked at twenty Low Grade Gathering Qi Pills.

Su Shi'er was tempted. If he had a Storage Bag, it would be much more convenient to carry things.

But he also knew that buying it would definitely bring trouble upon himself.

In the end, he spent his remaining hundred Foundation Pills on two books from an old man.

One was a travel journal written by a cultivator named Master Qingzhu, not worth much.

The other book recorded three minor spells: Rain Summoning, Object Control, and Heavenly Eye. The seller asked for one hundred and twenty Top Grade Foundation Pills, but Su Shi'er bargained for a long time and got it for a hundred.

After tucking everything away, Su Shi'er hurriedly left.

In less than an hour, he arrived at the foot of Cuihuan Mountain.

However, as he walked, he began to frown, feeling a vague sense of unease.

"Am I being followed? Who could it be?"

Su Shi'er squinted his eyes, thinking quickly, but he didn't look back. Instead, he calmly changed direction, heading towards the other side of Cuihuan Mountain, where he often hunted Demonic Beasts.

After a stick of incense.

Su Shi'er passed by a towering tree, and as he did, the grass on the ground stirred, and a large net woven from hemp rope suddenly rose into the air, as if catching something.

He quickly turned to look, only to see the turbaned youth with a sword on his back appearing in the net amidst a wave of energy. On his shoulder, a Low Grade Level One Invisibility Talisman turned to ash and dissipated.

"It's him?!"

Su Shi'er's pupils shrank, surprised.

He had considered it might be the Chu-named female cultivator or the old man who sold him the last two books.

But he hadn't expected it to be this person.

In the net, the turbaned youth struggled with frustration, "You brat, how dare you trap me?! Let me go, or I'll kill you when I get out!"

Su Shi'er heard this and said nothing, turning to run.

No kidding, this was a Qi Refining stage five expert. He didn't believe a simple trap could hold him.

If there was nothing suspicious, that would be strange!

He fought Demonic Beasts daily, and his combat experience was very rich.
