21-Mission
Frigga's commanding and authoritative tone of voice reduced the adrenaline in Swain's body.
Swain looked into Frigga's eyes with a slight frown on his face.
After a few seconds of staring contest, Frigga repeated:
"Let go!"
"If our positions were different, I don't think Hela would let me go." Swain argued.
"Maybe, but that's not the case right now." Frigga said.
Frigga never discriminated among her children and valued them more than herself. She did not favor her children and did not allow them to kill each other.
"Are you really going to kill your sister?" Frigga said these words when she saw that Swain did not let go of Hela.
"Tch!"
Swain threw Hela harshly to the side and moved away from Frigga.
Frigga, who saw Swain throw Hela, looked at Swain with more anger.
*He has definitely changed after staying in that cave for five hundred years.* Frigga thought.
Swain used to never question Frigga's words.
When the crows flying in the air started to descend in flocks, Frigga looked at Swain with surprise.
"Where are you going?" Frigga asked. Swain was in an angry mood and Frigga was worried that he would cause trouble.
"I haven't had wine for five hundred years. I'm going to a bar." Swain said.
As soon as he said these words, the crows quickly dived and started to circle around Swain.
When the crows completely closed Swain's surroundings and blocked the sunlight, Swain sighed deeply.
"Haaa... I'm getting too caught up in the war." he said.
"Don't forget to go to your father!"
These were the last words Swain heard before he teleported to the remote corners of Asgard.
"My father?" Swain said mockingly and giggled.
Odin never acted like a father to him since he was born.
Swain shook his head and got rid of these thoughts.
When the ground he stepped on changed, the crows flying around him scattered and quickly rose and moved away.
"Asgard hasn't changed at all." Swain said, looking around.
Even though he was in the remote corners of Asgard right now, the houses here were made of pure gold.
In the alley where Swain was, there were only a few children playing and Swain's sudden appearance scared them.
"W-who are you?" a child asked, pointing his wooden sword at Swain.
Swain smiled when he saw this and walked out of the alley without caring about the children.
The people of Asgard had participated in so many wars that even the children playing on the street were playing war games.
Swain thought this was pathetic.
After so much war, Asgard and its people would never be happy.
Because of these wars, Asgard had made many enemies, but no one in Asgard cared about it, or rather ignored it.
The people of an empire that normally won every war they entered would be very arrogant.
Asgard was not losing any wars for now, but Swain was sure of one thing. That was, in the future, Asgard would regret all these wars.
Swain, lost in thought, walked on without attracting attention; he took a red coat from the balcony of the nearby house and took off his torn coat and put on the borrowed coat.
"This is better." Swain whispered these words when he liked the coat on him.
So Swain walked slowly on the streets of Asgard and after about ten minutes, he finally came to the bar he wanted to reach.
"So it's still here."
Swain said these words with a big smile on his face.
Actually, he was very surprised that this bar was still here after five hundred years.
Without wasting any time, he pushed the door of the bar and entered.
The inside of the bar was quite normal.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Tables and chairs scattered around, and a big table in the middle where a bartender was.
Since it was not evening yet, the bar was quite quiet. Except for Swain, there were only three customers and they were asleep at a table in the corner.
The reason they fell asleep was probably Asgard's famous wine.
Swain smiled excitedly and walked towards the bartender and sat on a chair opposite him.
The bartender was an old man and quite big.
"What do you want, son?" the bartender said, without showing any respect.
Normally, in the bars of Asgard, the bartenders would show respect to their customers and try to get along with them, but this bar was different.
Swain liked it very much when he first discovered this place. After all, no one here cared about identity and they did not show fake respect to each other.
*I'm definitely older than you.* Swain thought and said "Give me the heaviest wine you have."
The bartender looked at Swain in surprise when he heard his words, taking his eyes off the glass in front of him.
The bartender's eyes lingered on Swain's missing left arm as he examined him.
"Are you a war veteran?" the bartender asked.
"Yes." Swain lied blatantly.
A big smile appeared on the bartender's face when he heard Swain's words.
"I have infinite respect for war veterans, drink as much as you want today, it's on me." the bartender said and put a huge glass in front of Swain.
This glass was filled with a slightly pink liquid.
The smell of this liquid was enough to make a normal person drunk, but it needed more to make someone like Swain drunk.
Swain nodded to the bartender with a smile and finished the wine in front of him in one gulp. Then he slammed the glass on the table.
"I definitely missed the taste of this. Hey... I hope you don't go back on your word." Swain said, looking at the bartender.
The bartender smiled in astonishment when he saw Swain finish the big glass in one gulp.
"Of-of course, a word is a word." the bartender said.
Although there was a smile on the bartender's face, his voice was trembling.
*I'm going to lose a lot of money today.*
...
Time passed and Swain consumed most of the wine stock in the bar.
During this time, he did not forget to ask some questions to the bartender and get information from him.
The bartender had also drunk wine with Swain and was clearly drunk. So it was quite easy to get information from him.
According to the information Swain collected, Asgard and the nine realms were about to enter a great war.
*The frost giants definitely have a big trump card. I shouldn't be surprised that Odin called me.*
Swain got up from his chair after collecting enough information and drinking enough.
"Thank you for the information and the wine." Swain said and turned his back and left the bar.
The bartender looked at Swain's back with a last hope, but when he saw that he did not pay any money, tears started to flow from his eyes.
*I will never give anyone a free drink again.* the bartender thought, wiping the tears in his eyes.
Swain did not care about the bartender's mood and looked at the sky after leaving the bar.
"It's getting dark. It would be good to go to Odin's side."
As soon as Swain's words ended, the crows flying in the air quickly attacked Swain and started to circle around him.
Only ten seconds later, Swain was in front of the magnificent palace.
"I can't help but feel sorry for the wasted gold every time I see this palace." Swain whispered.
"Asgard must show off if it wants to deter its enemies, Prince Swain. Besides, this much gold is quite insignificant for Asgard's treasury."
A emotionless, thick and very calm voice came from behind Swain.
"I know that Heimdall and I don't care." Swain said, without taking his eyes off the magnificent palace in front of him. He easily understood who the owner of this voice was without looking back.
"Also, don't call me prince." he added.
Heimdall nodded behind Swain and walked slowly to his side.
"As you wish, sir." he said and made a gesture as if he was showing the way to Swain.
"Let me accompany you to the throne room." he added.
Swain ignored Heimdall and walked towards the palace.
Heimdall saw this and followed Swain with a small smile on his face.
"Just call me Swain." Swain said, walking.
They walked together towards the palace and headed to the throne room after entering the palace.
They finally arrived at the throne room after passing by the shining golds and the magnificent guards.
There were two people in the throne room.
Odin was sitting on the throne with his eternal spear Gulgnir in his hand. Next to him was Hela. It seemed that her wounds had healed.
*After all, she is Odin's daughter, it is normal for her to heal so fast.*
Hela looked at Swain with an angry expression on her face. Clearly, the fight between them had left an unforgettable wound on her pride.
"Greetings to the father of the gods." Heimdall said and knelt on one knee as he entered the throne room.
Unlike Heimdall, Swain did not react. He looked at Odin without any expression on his face and eyes.
Odin ignored Swain's disrespect, but Hela could not stand it.
"How dare you not kneel before the father of the gods!" Hela shouted.
Swain took his eyes off Odin and looked at Hela. He had pity and contempt in his eyes as he looked at Hela.
"Instead of shouting in vain, you can try to make me do that... But I warn you, this time your mother is not here to save you." Swain said, with a great contempt.
"YOU!-"
"ENOUGH!" Odin shouted and slammed Gulgnir on the ground.
A big shock wave spread from where Odin was, causing Swain's hair and coat to flutter.
*Just as I thought. His power is decreasing rapidly as time passes. It seems that no one but me has noticed this.* Swain thought.
He clearly saw that Odin's divine energy had decreased by a large amount.
Actually, this amount was quite large for Swain, but it was not that important for Odin. But this did not change the fact that Odin's power was decreasing rapidly.
*What is causing his power to decrease? What is Odin hiding?... This is exciting me a lot!!!* Swain thought.
He could smell the secrets from far away and he could easily say that Odin was hiding something very important.
Swain involuntarily had a big smile on his face as he was lost in these thoughts.
Odin did not care about this, but Hela thought it was directed at her.
*He is clearly mocking me!! Jericho Swain, I will make you pay for this even if I die!* Hela thought.
"Jericho Swain, I have a mission for you." Odin said.
Odin's voice interrupted Swain's excited thoughts and Hela's angry thoughts.
"A mission?" Swain asked and paused.
"I don't think I can do anything for Asgard." Swain added.
"I know." Odin said.
"Then why are you giving me a mission?"
"This mission covers all nine realms. I'm sure you know that a great war is approaching. Your mission is to go to another realm as Asgard's envoy and persuade them to form an alliance. Everyone knows that you are very good at manipulation." Odin said.
"Hahahaha. You want me to manipulate the realm you want to form an alliance with and pull them to Asgard's side? You are very bad Odin." Swain said, giggling.
Odin did not care about Swain's disrespectful speech and continued to talk.
"If they are willing to form an alliance, there will be no need for that." Odin said, smiling.
"Mighty Asgard, asking for help from other realms against the frost giants, huh? I don't know what trump card the frost giants have, but I like this. Okay... Which realm and when am I going?" Swain asked.
*If Asgard is asking for help, I'm sure the frost giants have a big trump card. If I can get hold of that trump card, my power will increase a lot!* Swain thought.
"Since you accepted, you are going to Alfheim tomorrow. Heimdall will send you there with the rainbow bridge." Odin said.
Swain nodded when he heard these words and left the throne room without saying anything. Heimdall followed him from behind.
"Tell me about the light elves Heimdall." Swain said.
He had never left Asgard in his life and he felt very excited.
"Light elves live in harmony with nature and protect it. They gain strength by using ether, an energy produced by nature. They are very good at archery and art. Even though they are not technologically advanced, their power is still in good shape. Finally, they are prejudiced against those who are not of their own race and their senses are very strong. They can sense how many people one has killed and the killing intent with a single glance...."
Heimdall told Swain about the light elves without missing any details along the way.
Swain said goodbye to Heimdall after getting all the information and teleported to the forest where his house was.
"I need a new house." Swain said, looking at the ruined house in front of him.
