Chapter 2: life and death

Xyrus POV

The dragon saw the carriage. Suddenly he had an idea. If he trained one of those humans good enough to kill the human he contracted, his problem will be fixed. Hmmmm......the best tho by I probably could do, was attacking the carriage, and he will train the human who survived. Pleased with himself, the dragon began carrying his plan out.

Slave POV

I was scared. Everyone knows that you musn't anger a dragon. And we didn't. We didn't anger a dragon, so why was the dragon attacking? Cause it was bored? I don't really know, but would probably be the case. Well, I had a good life as a slave. Actually I hadn't, but it always sounds dramatic when you say that. You're probably thinking: why aren't you screaming? Or running? It's a fucked up dragon! Let me tell you one thing: when a dragon attacks you can only hope for a painless death.

The dragon attacked.

Everyone screamed.

This is the end....................................................................................................................

----------------------------------------

I groaned. Were the fuck am I? What the hell happened? I tried moving. I wish I didn't. The only thing I felt e as pain. I could only think of pain. But something was wrong. It wasn't cold. Actually, I felt rather warm. I stood up. My body screamed the opposite. Fuck, it hurts like hell.

When i stood up, I looked around. The first thing I saw were corpses. The slaves and the guards were dead. Why did I survive? Well, I should thank God that I survived. When I turned around i saw a huge mountain. A HUGE mountain. The mountain moved. The mountain turned around.

And that was when I realized that it wasn't a mountain. It was a dragon. The dragon who attacked us. I looked at the godly creature. All my senses said that I should run. I would if i wasn't paralyzed by fear.

The dragon began speaking with a low voice:"so there is a human who survived. Then everything can be fixed." By those words the dragon walked over, put me in his mouth and flew away.

The dragon landed in a cave. When he landed, the dragon put me down. I was still not able to comprehend what happened. But that wasn't the only thing. I was still in a lot of pain. I groaned.

The dragon heard my groaning and said:" you're in pain? Let me heal that for you." Before I could react, the dragon wrote some strange things in the air really fast. When the dragon was done, he said something I didn't understand and my wound began to heal. When the healing was done in no time, and I could finally move without pain.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

The dragon sat down and began to speak:" let's get down to business. There is a person I want to kill, but because of the circumstances i can't. So, I need you to kill that person."

When the dragon was done, the only thing I could say was:"wait, what!?"

The dragon began to explain, since I was so stupid. "This is how we're going to do it: I'm going to train you, so that you can kill someone for me."

After ten seconds, I was finally able to comprehend everything. "I get that training thing, but I am not a genius when it comes to magic, and on top of that, I'm not marked."

Marking is something that happens when you're five years old. When you're marked you get the talent to learn something. For example, if a fire mage marked a five years old kid, the kid has the talent to learn fire magic. That's how the nobles stay strong in the family. They give their mark to their kids.

Of course, you won't get strong just because you're marked. Well, yes you get strong, but you're own talent helps too. If you had to divide your strength, a quarter is your own talent, and the rest the mark. That's why I'm so weak. And it helps if the one that marks you is strong. How stronger he is, how stronger the one that receives the mark is.

That only applies to humans. God's give beasts their mark. The one stronger than the other. Dragons had the luck to get the strongest mark. And with their enormous body and mark, dragons are the strongest creatures.

Back to the topic. "Don't worry, I have a plan. You just need to die" said the dragon

I looked at the dragon like he was retarded. "I don't like dying. And I don't think killing me will solve the problem."

The dragon explained:"its not like you stay dead. After you die, I take your soul and put it in a seed in my belly."

"Won't that make me a full blood dragon?" I asked.

"No, I have a way to make you only half dragon." When I still looked confused, the dragon continued:"do you know beastmen?" I nodded. "You will look like beastmen, dragon ears, eyes, tail and some scales on the back of your arms.

"How do I know that you will keep your promise?"

"By trusting me." Answered the dragon.

"I don't trust you."

".................what if we make a contract?"

"A contract?"

"Yes a contract." Said the dragon. "If we make a contract, I must keep my promise."

"What happens when you break the contract?" I asked.

"You die. That's probably how you became a slave in the first place."

"I didn't make a contract with that Greed.....owner."

"You didn't, but your parents did."

"Currently, I am not a slave. Why?" I asked.

"If the one of the people who nade the contract dies, the contract will become void." The dragon answered.

"........alright, let's make a contract."

"Then let's begin. I swear that I will train and resurrect the young lady in front of me. In return, the young lady in front of me will kill Derek Raventon. Does the young lady in front of me swear that she will kill Derek Raventon?"

Yes, I swear. I said.

After I spoke the words, words were formed in the air that after some seconds disappeared. When the words disappeared, there was a golden stripe on my neck.

"Why do I have a stripe on my neck?" I asked the dragon.

"The stripe is the proof that we made a contract. Look I have one too." He said and showed me his striped neck.

"If you break the contract the stripe will slash your neck in two."

"There's one last thing I want to ask." I said.

"What is it?"

"How are you going to resurrect me?"

The dragon grinned. "do you really want to know?"

I shuddered. "On second thought, I don't want to know."

"See you in your next life." The dragon waved.

Those were the last things I remembered before I died.
