Maria's Adventure
Chapter 8: Tir

Chapter 8: Tir

It has been an hour after Maria passed the light portal, at least that is how Maria felt as she continues plummeting into the depth below. For the speed that she was traveling, Maria wondered how deep this place is. And then, suddenly, her body came to a graceful halt, landing firmly on the ground. But this was no ordinary ground. It was a strange landscape, covered with an intricate tapestry of words, runes, and symbols that stretched from the very ground beneath her feet all the way up to the expansive sky. Some of these mystical elements floated freely in the air. their movements are random and unpredictable.

the voice of the Advisor resonated within her mind once again.

“This place... interesting... Sorry, Maria, but I will borrow your body for a while."

Maria watched in awe as her hair turned as white as freshly fallen snow, her eyes transformed into glistening diamonds, and even her attire shifted to a pristine white. The transformation was complete, and while Maria's body still retained the appearance of Elisa, she now exuded the aura of a snow princess, radiating an undeniable sense of majesty. It was a sight that left Maria speechless, feeling like a mere peasant on the side of the road in comparison to the Advisor's resplendent form.

“Try not to stare at me for too long; I was designed to make people feel inferior when they look at me.” The Advisor reminded Maria.

“What? Why?” Maria was confused by this information (Wait, if that's the case, what about the first time?) Maria recalled back to the first time she met the Advisor. She did feel surprised but not as she is right now. Also, how can she see what the Advisor is doing with her body? The more Maria think the more questions keep popping up inside her mind. These questions quickly overwhelm her mind, leaving her in a daze as she stared blankly into the strange land. For a moment, Maria found peace and ascension much like the beauty of the star falling on the horizon. (Huh?) Maria tried to refocus her mind on that last line of thought (What did I just see again?) as she look into the sky.

The Advisor, unaware of Maria's condition, contemplated the question before responding, "I am uncertain myself. It seems to be a unique aspect of my design and purpose... Hmm?"

The Advisor's explanation was cut short when she feel a small vibration in the air. The floating words and symbols that were idle above them started to hurtle through the void like shooting stars and congregate in a far distance behind where the Advisor stood. With a flash, it transformed into a seething sea of flame and was heading toward the Advisor at incredible speed. The Advisor reacted immediately and run away. The speed at which she travel made Maria bewildered. She couldn't fathom just how fast they were moving, but thanks to the Advisor's incredible speed, Maria could see the sea of flame receding into the distance, growing smaller with each passing moment.

(This...) Just as Maria gather herself, a second vibration started. The floating words and symbols start to act again. This time, they form a giant wall of unknown materials in front of the Advisor. Due to the Advisor's incredible speed, she wasn't able to stop and rammed through the wall. The wall instantly collapsed but Maria can feel a slight pause in speed.

"Phew, I thought we were a goner." Even though it's not her who controls the body, Maria can't help but feel the pressure as she watches the collision this close, in real life. The Advisor ignore Maria's remark and kept running. Seeing the Advisor's serious expression, Maria has an uneasy feeling. It was then that Maria saw the sky. Words and symbols that were idle before are raining down again, rapidly crashing into each other and forming all sorts of weird and peculiar walls, some are on fire, some are transparent, and some are eating other walls. "What the hell am I looking at?" Maria can't help but throw out a few cursing words when looking at these chaotic wonders of unnatural disaster. To make matters worse, Maria saw the sea of flame that was left behind now gaining speed. Every time the sea of flame ate another newly formed wall, it grew bigger and faster at an exponential rate. The Advisor was able to dodge these walls rather smoothly while keeping her high speed. Still, it was clearly not enough. The sea of flame is rapidly catching up to the Advisor's current speed.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Isn’t this a little bit too intense for a test?” Maria shouted out while looking at the situation around her body.

“Can you be quiet?” The Advisor frowned. Her hand quickly intercepted a few runes before they transformed and quickly combine them into a new one. She then threw them directly at the floor. The new rune instantly transforms into an opened trap door. The Advisor immediately jumped down and closed it before the sea of flame engulfs the surface. The trap door passage led her to a mysterious and dimly lit room, bathed in an ethereal glow from numerous balls of light hovering gracefully in the air. The soft, radiant orbs cast mesmerizing patterns of light and shadow, giving the room an otherworldly ambiance.

“Impressive, I didn't think that "Wordweaving" users still exist in this day and age.”

The strange resounding voice shook up the place and frightened Maria. However, the Advisor seemed unfazed and composed, as if she had anticipated such an encounter. A moment later, from the depths of the shadow, A mesmerizing fusion of owl and eldritch energies emerges. With eyes that held the wisdom of ancient realms and feathers that shimmered with otherworldly hues, bringing an aura of mystique and wonder with it.

“My name is Tir, or if you prefer, "Palace of Knowledge" as the people outside called me” The entity known as Tir stopped talking as if waiting for the guest to introduce themselves.

"I am in a hurry. Get to the point," the Advisor said, her icy gaze fixed upon the creature before her.

Seeing that the girl before him has no intention to be friendly, Tir's voice rang within the room again “Alright, Alright… the point, the point...ah, The point is I need a pair of legs."

The Advisor: "???"

Maria: "???"

Seeing the look on Advisor's face as if looking at a retard, Tir's face blackened (Weren't you the one who told me to get to the point?) Tir shouted inside his mind "The truth is," Tir explained, gathering his thoughts and trying to maintain composure as he faced the Advisor's questioning gaze, "A long time ago, I rooted myself in this land to exchange knowledge with many wise creatures. However, due to the cataclysm thousands of years ago, they either died off or were forced to migrate to new homelands. The quality of strong and wise creatures living near this place has hit rock bottom." Tir's voice stopped as if he was recalling an eternity's worth of time living in boredom then sigh heavily "I have been trying to move to somewhere else. However, I can't move on my own. I need a host strong enough to carry me. It wasn’t a big problem before the cataclysm but now, well… thousand of years later and I can’t find one until you came. So… how about it? As a payment, I will supply you with this" Tir raises his hand, and in an instant, various hologram appears in the air, showcasing a lot of peculiar locations. One of them looks familiar to the testing room that Maria just saw.

Looking at these holograms, the Advisor tilted her head:” You said you are this entire place, right? How do you expect us to do it?”

“It is very simple; I will miniaturize myself into an accessory and you can carry it with you” Tir explained his method.

Maria felt a strange sense of Deja vu when hearing Tir's method. Isn't this what her's fairy used?

“Would all that weight disappear after you have done so?” The Advisor asked.

"Well, no. That's precisely why I need a strong host body, and you, my dear, fit the bill perfectly. What's wrong? Was my offer not enticing enough?" Tir asked.

"It's not about the offer. It is about my current condition. The strength that you are seeing in me right now is... conditional. It will be gone once I am out of this place." The Advisor explained, "But if you are so desperate to leave this place, then I am willing to help you with my own method."

“Oh? What would that be?” Tir was eager to hear it.

“I want you to not ask anything about what I am going to do.”

Tir's curiosity peaked as he watched the Advisor squat down and place her hand on the ground, revealing a hidden rune beneath her touch. In an instant, a wave of brilliant white light spread throughout the entire spacious room, emanating from the Advisor at the center.

“Are you crazy? If you do that, you are going to implode.” Tir shouted, his eyes widened.

The Advisor paid no heed to Tir's frantic warning and continued her work undeterred. After a few moments, the Advisor retrieved her hand and clap it together. Her action immediately caused an earthquake along with Tir's figure disappearing. She then revealed the second rune in her hand and slap it toward a wall and run directly toward it. It teleported her to another tunnel similar to the entrance. As the Advisor approached the light at the end of the tunnel, her appearance started to transform back to normal Elisa.

“Alright Maria, let's switch back. I will give you full detail about what I did when we go back to the mansion.”

“Ah, rig…”

Just as Maria took back control of her body, she felt an indescribable pain in every part of her body. She wanted to scream but couldn’t speak and collapsed at the exit.

“…”

“Ah, so that's how it works.” Those were the last word that Maria heard from the Advisor before she lost consciousness.
