Named Rose, he didn't have a particularly flowery -hehe- upbringing, he was truely the definition of lonely. He'd never had a friend, but nor did he want to at this point. He'd observed enough at this point to see what happens when connections between humans were made; benefit, benefit, benefit, that's all relationships of any kind were, and he wouldn't fall into a pit he could already see. His parents were very rarely around, always away on business trips, the bright side to this was the wealth and the benefits that came with it.
He was a small child of a normal build. He had bright blue eyes, with a mop of dirty blond hair, he was good-looking but not overly eye-catching. Left to isolation over the years he was extremely smart and observant. Daily life existed of reading books on top of books, he devourer them without discrimination, from philosophical to fantasy to ancient history. It didn't matter what book and from this reading and knowledge came his outlook on life and ability to read people. A child unattended and left to world was bound to influenced even slightly by what happened around them, and so the child grew up with a hatred towards his own species. This condensed ball of hatred was the thing that caused his personality to twist him into a psychopath.

In the ever evolving world of technology there was always going to be a day that Virtual Reality and the games that coincide with it would reach the pinnacle. The announcement of the game Magick Online had the hype of the world behind it due to the information released by MagickGames, a branch of the leading tech Corporation Atlas who put their best team of designers, programmers, marketers, everything. With a promise of over 20 races, 10 main classes -not mentioning the 1000's of hidden classes that for sure will exist- with 3 different build paths for each. That in itself was enough to excite the people but the fact that the devs leaked that there were over 3000 spells and a level cap of 1000 and an infinite amount of quests gave the audience the sense of a game and world with an end that was not near. And with the thought of development in mind, the designers and devs added what would later be used as esports facilities within the game. The addition of PVP and GVG arena. In the pre-release patch notes the description given was
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
"There will be 3 options for PVP and GVG alike; PVP will have 1v1, 3v3 and 5v5 to allow for dueling or fighting with companions. GVG will have 10v10, 50v50 and 100v100 as Battle options. Inside the arena will be the ability to choose from 7 current terrain with more in the works or a random condition selector, however the terrain itself with be custom generated by AI."
Moreover the hardcore/rich gamers would have the ability to basically live in the game infinitely -well until they die irl- because of the latest VR cabin upgrades released 2 months prior, which included a feeding tube with a massive back-up supply attacted to it. It would be enough to last...a while. It also put the body into a state of suspended animation to rest the body when the brain recognised that the player was tired. (Ngl, I couldn't think of the right word so just called it suspended animation)

Rose whilst being someone who had read books most of his life, he wasn't new to the world of video games or VR at that. Whilst he was good at video games, there was not much that piqued his interest or could keep him around that long. However with the announcement of Magick Online he thought that might change. There is also something else that should be known about Rose. He didn't attend school, as there was no need with his mind, also people were there -ew-, and even his parents who had little contact with him, so this would also be a good way to alleviate his currently boring and monotonous life.
It was 1 week and 3 days later when Magick Online officially launched and it was at this time that Rose was sat inside the VR cabin connected up and excited to start.
