Honestly, I should have seen this coming. It was your average day, to average in fact. Sunny with clouds, temperature just right, mild breeze, normally shitty people less shity, ect. What was I doing during this perfectly average day?
I, Joshua Daniel Fitzgerald, was inside playing video games. I was currently playing Titanfall 2, one of my favorite games, all over again, when I received a notification on my phone.
Pausing the game, I read the text. It was from my best friend Gage, saying to meet him at our local GameStop. Saving my game, I grabbed my phone and my wallet and called out to my mom as I walked out the door.
“Hey Mom! I'm heading out!”
“Okay, just be back before dinner!”
Our GameStop wasn't far away, just a few minutes walk away. After walking, I arrived at the intersection where it was. Waiting until the light went red and I could walk, I started across the street street. This is where it all went wrong.
Barreling down the street was a truck, with the driver having collapsed on the dashboard, with it coming straight at me. My feet refused to move, as my eyes widened, before being filled with a white light as the truck hit me straight on.
----------------------------------------
I blinked my eyes open and stared into the white abyss just dripping with cliche all around me. Pushing myself up, I immediately started patting my body, checking for any injuries.
“Not to worry. You're fine.” A voice said from behind me. Snapping my head back, I looked at the owner of the voice.
A young woman, with long white hair and green eyes, wearing what looked to be a blue dress with flower designs on it. For some reason, I felt like I was looking at my mother.
“Uhh, who are you?” I asked.
She smiled, and said, “I am Gaia, the Mother of Earth and Life.”
“Where am I?”
“You are in the afterlife. Though I'm supprised, most people don't take the news that well." 'Gaia' said.
“Yeah, I figured that out after I woke up in a white space.” I said, with some minor annoyance. I don't need to be told twice that I died. Then, a question was brought to my mind.

“Why am I here?”
Her smile dipped a tad bit. “Yes, that's the complicated part. You see, I require you for a task. A friend of mine's world has awoken a evil, and she needs a champion to take it down.”
“Then why me? Couldn't she have used one of her own people?”
“While he could have, I owed her a favor. You see, as a goddess, we get quite bored a lot, so we bet on things. I lost a bet and know I owe her a favor, which she is using to help save her world.” She said, finishing her explanation.
Suddenly, a blue window appeared in my face. It was a list that seemed to go on forever. As I read it, I realized this was the Cheat Sheet.
“But you one of my children. I will not send you off into the unknown without a blessing. Please choose one.”
[Please choose a blessing to take with with you on your adventure!
Magic Creation
Weapon Creation

I looked at each one if the options, none of them appealing to me, until I found one that just seemed rich in OPness.
[Magical Item Creation:

“May I have 'Magical Item Creation’?” I asked. I want to make sure I can have it, to not anger anybody important.
“Yes, you may. Now, be off, and live your new life to its fullest!”
The white void around me swirled into colors and shapes, and I blacked out.
----------------------------------------
After the boy was gone, Gaia sighed.
“Really? Why must you sigh?” Gaia turned around to face the owner of he voice.
"Terra, you know how much I care for my children, so why must you use your favor on this?” She turned to her sister, who looked exactly like her, but younger and wearing a different dress.
“Because I'm bored! This is the most exciting thing that has happened in years! Besides, I know your excited about this as well.” Terra spoke with a whine in her voice.
A small smile grew on Gaia's face. “Perhaps. Actually, may we make a bet?”
Terra gasped. “Sister, are you finally awakening your inner gambler?! It's always me who makes the bets! What is it?!”
“Maybe. Alright, so here's the bet. How long do you think it will take him to defeat brother? If you win, I'll give you ten years worth of Divine Energy. If I win, you send him back to me after he dies. Do we have a deal?”
“Yeah! I’ll say, 4 years. What about you?”
“Three years.”
“Then the bet is on!” The two sisters shook hands, and the deal was set.
Hey y'all! This is my first story, and I appreciate any criticism you may have. Just not any purely rude ones, though.
