The village was deathly quiet, similar to the rest of the encounter.
It would only be when we were discovered or battle broke out that the Chieftains roar would bring the village to life.
The map of the village was very in-depth, giving me a range of options. I was still set on heading to the top of the watchtower.
Of course, I could be quite useful in a vantage point on any of the huts, but having an extra bit of protection wouldn't hurt.
Knowing that I made my way around the small village as quietly as possible, I saw glimpses through the roots of the Chieftains Horde.
The Chieftain was slightly smaller than the Brutes surrounding it. Still, its force of presence was far more significant.
I feared for my life for the first time, looking at that creature. We would not be coming out of this fight unscathed. I was hoping to stay as far away as possible.
Getting to the back of the watchtower had been surprisingly easy.
The routes of the patrols within the village had long since been documented as well.
So once I knew where one was, I could quickly work out the rest. With that, I got behind the horde and was left looking up at the dilapidated watchtower.
I was a little less confident in its protective ability now, but it would still make for the best vantage point.
It would also allow me to try out the new spell form of the Mage hands I had been working on, forming two far denser ones than usual.
I set them on the ground, stepping upon them, I could feel the magic under my feet.
Placing my hands onto the watchtower itself, I slowly let the mage hands bring me up. It was an incredibly difficult task to keep my mind concentrated. Without the support of the watchtower, I would have never made it up.
Yet, I managed it in the end. The structure was holding on well as I stepped on it. The wood at the top of the tower had all but rotted. Yet, it held firm enough for me to step on without the risk of falling.
I was a little disappointed to see that the rumors about their being treasure on the top of the watchtower weren't true. I had been hoping for a little extra reward for going through the effort of reaching the top.
I prepared myself to shoot the signal that I had reached the position.
Outside the village, there was a single post where the others had placed a rock. It was large enough that it wouldn't make much noise even when struck. A simple bolt was enough to get the attention of the group.
The use of magic had other uses as well.
It also drew the Shaman's attention away from the frontlines.
I looked down as the two turned to face me at the top of the tower.
Their blood-red eyes seeming a lot more terrifying than anything else I had encountered. Their wooden masks blocking any sight of their human visages made them even more imposing.
The Shamans of this fight were far more lethal than the weaker ones that had been littered throughout the fifth floor.
Their arms both began to light up for an attack that would be a lot more deadly than the simple paralysis spells of its brethren.
I couldn't allow that to happen. Aiming quickly once again, I sent out another few trusty mana bolts.
Unfortunately, they chose this time to let me down. One Shaman was struck hard in the chest and was taken down quickly, but the other had a protective enchantment of some kind that allowed it to take the damage.

Giving it more than enough time to send out its ball of destruction.
An explosion ripped through the top of the watchtower. Leaping back, I hastily had to make a mana shield that took the brunt of the force.
It sent half of the battlements crashing down onto the unsuspecting army below.
The magic itself hadn't managed to harm me much. I was sent careening into one of the walls, which hurt quite a bit more. I was still extremely thankful that the blast hadn't ripped the entire tower apart.
My body didn't exactly agree, but being hurt was better than being dead.
The destruction was localized thanks to the other Shaman not releasing his blast, so a lot of the tower was still standing.
I scrambled forwards to see what destruction had been wrought.
I had been even luckier than I thought. Two Brutes had decided to back up the Shamans after seeing that they went into action.
The Shaman responsible struggled to get up after a large piece of the masonry had knocked it to the ground.
The two Brutes had not been so lucky. Both were crushed under the weight of the fallen wall. Just like that, a significant force of the Chieftain had been taken out.
The Chieftain in question was now staring up at me, glaring for all he was worth.
I would have been worried if he had any ranged attacks, but now that both shamans were out of the battle, he had access to nothing that would allow him to hit me.
The roaring charge from the rest of the Silver bees was more than enough to distract him from his vengeance towards me.
That allowed me to take out the other Shaman for good, who had now lost all protection it once had.
Now I would just be taking shots, trying to distract the big guys down below during battle.
Carefully moving down the rubble, I got to a new vantage point. Now that I didn't have to worry about ranged retaliation, I could let myself loose.
Seeing the approaching warriors, the Chieftain decided to let loose its ultimate skill. With a great roar, a red aura surrounded the Chief. Significantly increasing the strength of all the Satyrs around him.
It also had the nasty effect of calling all the patrols in the forest to his position. If you hadn't taken them out beforehand, it would be extremely deadly, as an army attacked you.
However, with our preparations, the skill was little more than an annoyance. Sure it increased the Brutes' abilities and the surviving Elites, but it was still very much manageable.
Dealing with the Chief might be a different story for the team, as he was far stronger than the Brutes and far faster than the Elites.
That was why I had to tie up the Brutes while they faced off the Chieftain. Easier said than done, as my power still couldn't do enough damage to the brutes who were built to deal with blunt force trauma.
My Mana blades lost most of their effectiveness against them as well with the distance.
With another roar, the Chieftain had launched himself towards Yiren, who lead the charge with his new shield.
The Boss's punch undid all that as it cracked the shield in a single blow, forcing Yiren to the ground. The Chieftain's strength was truly at another level.
Which gave me an idea. The mage hands had been strong enough to lift me from the ground. If I changed them around and increased the speed by a whole lot, I would surely be able to make a super punch of my own.
Thinking that I sent out another few bolts to get the Brute's attention back to me.
Now would be an excellent time to test it out. If it went wrong, we would only die after all.
Splitting my attention between keeping up some level of attack with the bolts to keep their eyes on me. It was proving difficult, but I managed for a brief time.
All I needed was that few seconds as the mage hands formed behind them, almost as dense as I had made them to climb the watchtower.
With a titanic effort of will, I sped the hands up by as much as I could manage. I had to stop the assault on the Brutes to handle the hands, so they began to turn to help their Chief. That was when two fists overflowing with magic hit them straight in the chest. Exploding with enough power to send them into the watchtower.
Their bodies were more than strong enough to go through the walls of the watchtower, causing it to collapse in on itself. I barely managed to escape to one of the nearby huts as the building collapsed on the two Brutes. They wouldn't be getting up again any time soon.
Now it would be up to the Silver Bees to deal with the Chieftain. Any attack I had available to me currently was nowhere near strong enough to injure the Boss.
By this point, they had managed to build up a rhythm to deal with the angered Beast.
Even with each hit being extremely destructive, Yerins Shield proved to be made of pretty strong stuff, and once the outer bark had been crushed, the innards proved much more robust.
With Leader and Striker dancing around the Chief, dealing a lot of damage every time they darted in for another hit.
Scout was in the shadow of the destroyed watchtower. He was now using a bow that I didn't know he had to hit the Chief in several vital areas angering it even more.
That did give me a chance to do something. With my mana bolts, I could hit the arrows deeper into the Chieftains body.
My accuracy wasn't great, but I did manage to hit a few, angering the Chieftain greatly.
Like that, we continued to whittle down the health of the Chieftain. A few moments later, he was finished. With a cry from the Beast, he fell dead. Our first real boss battle was over.
