[5 - Outshining the Foe]

[5 - Outshining the Foe]

Hisao had always loved the thrill that comes with action and combat. Hisao found fighting a natural side of him, his mind went into a sort of trance mode when he engaged in battle, it allowed him to focus solely on the moment. The adrenaline coursing through his veins and hi He could tell that Ye-Hsiung had also gotten the same idea when they both leapt at once, getting ready to their ultimate attack against the scarlet haired pirate.

Ye-Hsiung's eyes narrowed as he prepared to strike, his muscles tensing as he coiled himself like a spring. Hisao could see the determination in his friend's eyes, and he knew that they were both ready to give it their all in this showdown to protect the island. The scarlet haired pirate snarled and raised her sword, ready to defend herself against the incoming attacks. The air was electric with anticipation as the three of them clashed in a whirlwind of metal and energy, the sound of their weapons ringing out across the battlefield.

As they fought, Hisao and Ye-Hsiung worked together seamlessly, their years of training and experience on the battlefields of water showing in their precise and powerful movements. They struck at the pirate from all angles, their swords flashing in the sunlight as they sought to find an opening in her defenses. The pirate fought back fiercely, her own sword a blur of red as she parried and countered their attacks.

Despite their skill and strength, Hisao and Ye-Hsiung, Hisao had clearly been beaten up from everything going - it seemed like they were no match for the pirate's experience and cunning slashes. She was a seasoned warrior, and she knew how to use her surroundings to her advantage. As the battle raged on, Hisao could feel his energy starting to flag, and he knew that Ye-Hsiung was in a similar state.

But they refused to give up, driven by their desire to protect their village and defeat the pirate threat. They redoubled their efforts, pushing themselves to the limit as they sought to land the final blow. The pirate, sensing that the tide was turning against her, began to fight more desperately, her attacks becoming wild and reckless.

Hisao and Ye-Hsiung were trying to keep up with the pirate's unrelenting attack despite their best attempts. Their swords were heavy in their hands, and they were both bruised and injured from the furious combat. Hisao could feel his strength fading, and he knew Ye-Hsiung was in the same boat.

But, spurred by a desire to preserve the lives of each other and resist the pirate taking over, they still refused to give up. They clinched their teeth and pushed themselves to their limits, determined to win this struggle. Hisao saw the same resolve in Ye-eyes, Hsiung's and he realised they were both battling not only for themselves, but for the people they cared about. Hitting with a powerful slash, before landing a solid kick at his jaw, causing him to stagger backwards.

Hisao immediately turned and yelled "Ye-Hsiung!"

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Hisao heard a loud roar behind him. He turned just in time to see Matsudara and the remnants of his pirate crew chaging at the opposing pirate. The scarlet haired pirate, caught off guard by the sudden attack, stumbled and was quickly overwhelmed by Matsudara and his crew. Hisao, seeing an opportunity to finish the fight, rushed to join the fray, his sword flashing as he joined in the attack. More and more bodies of the white suited pirates joined the opposing side, but now more than ever - the Neo Kansai Maru was ready to fight.

The fight was fierce and chaotic, with both sides anxious to win. Hisao could see that the surviving white-suited pirates were beginning to weaken in the face of Matsudara and the Neo Kansai Maru's combined power. He could feel the tide shifting in their favour and knew they were on the cusp of conquest.

With a fierce battle cry, Hisao and his friends redoubled their efforts, striking at the pirates with all of their strength. Suddenly, the scarlet haired pirate seemed to be running away, causing a lot of confusion with the other pirates - this one short smidgen of confusion is all it took for Hisao to take the finishing blow at the scarlet haired pirate.

Hisao saw an opportunity and he took it, lunging forward with all of his strength. His sword flashed through the air, striking the pirate with a decisive blow. She let out a cry of pain and stumbled, her sword falling from her hand, clanging on the ground - symbolising the end of the night... immediately the island's bell rang with a ferocious yell.

The other pirates dressed in white, seeing their leader fall, began to panic. Some of them tried to flee, while others turned to fight. But Hisao and his friends were too strong, driven by their determination to protect this island. They fought with all of their might, striking down the pirates one by one until the battlefield was silent, all had either died or fled.

When it was over, Hisao and his friends stood panting and sweat-drenched, surrounded by the bodies of their enemies. They had won the night and they had saved the island.

Hisao looked over to find Ye-Hsiung - and saw him still on the ground, tired - but ultimately unarmed. Hisao looked around at his other friends, seeing the same sense of accomplishment and pride in their eyes. He felt a sense of gratitude wash over him, knowing that he couldn't have done it without them.

"We did it," he said, grinning at Ye-Hsiung. "We won."

"We did," Ye-Hsiung replied, smiling back before holding a grimacing face, "But Hisao... why did you come out to the battlefield even though you already had been wounded?"

Hisao gave him a confused look, but then answered "Hey, you're the captain now, I can't have the captain dying."

Hisao saw his friend laugh weakly in response. After a few moments, they both started to laugh. They laughed for several seconds, their laughs mixing together as if it was a part of a dance, it echoed throughout the field.

Eventually they calmed down, still unable to stop laughing... it wasn't even funny, but it was just a way for them to relate each other.

"Well, I guess we're both captains now..." Ye-Hsiung said in a meek voice. "Come on now captain, let's get going."

Finally, they stopped laughing and stood back up, Hisao stood up getting ready for a new day... only for his vision to get blurry again...

"Whoa, easy there," Ye-Hsiung said, catching Hisao as he stumbled. "You took a pretty hard hit there. You already lost a lot of blood." Ye-Hsiung said in an annoyed, but also concerned tone.

Hisao groaned and rubbed his head, trying to clear his vision. "I think you're right," he said, wincing as a wave of dizziness washed over him. "I feel like I could pass out at any moment."

"Come on, let's get you back to the village," Ye-Hsiung said, helping Hisao to his feet. "You need some rest and medical attention."

As they stumbled back towards the village, Hisao couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over him. They had fought bravely and emerged victorious, saving the island village and defeating the pirate threat. It had been a long and difficult fight, but it had all been worth it in the end.

As they walked, Hisao turned to Ye-Hsiung and smiled. "Thanks for being such a great friend," he said. "I couldn't have done this without you."

Ye-Hsiung grinned back at him. "You too, buddy," he said. "We make a pretty good team."

As they made their way to the cots, Hisao couldn't help but feel a sense of exhaustion wash over him. It had been a long and grueling battle... and it was just one fight. He could've sworn he was more powerful back before his body got hit by the five month comatose. He was ready to collapse into bed and sleep for a week, or hell even five months. But even as he stumbled towards the cots, he was just happy that another day passed with him alive.

When they finally reached the cots, Hisao collapsed onto his bed with a sigh of relief. Ye-Hsiung did the same, letting out a contented sigh as he settled into his own bed.

"Well, that was quite a day," Ye-Hsiung said, closing his eyes. "I don't think I've ever been so tired in my life."

"Hey, we've had plenty of intense battles in the past," Hisao said, yawning. "But yeah, this one felt different - it's different from just us defending ourselves to keep our loot, it was to help other people..."

Ye-Hsiung nodded. "We did," he said. "And I'm proud to have fought alongside you."

Hisao smiled at his friend, feeling a sense of camaraderie and friendship wash over him. They had been through so much together, and he knew that they would always stand by each other's side, no matter what the world threw at them.

As he drifted off to sleep, Hisao knew that he had found his place in the world... being a person that never gives up. Ye-Hsiung was always there for him... but his life hadn't always been this easy.

He drifter further and further to sleep. Hoping for a pleasant dream...
