The manager didn’t dare to joke around with William. He was the one responsible for this project, and if he failed, he would be in serious trouble.
He asked nervously, “Mr. Middleton, now that the File Group has secretly acquired a huge number of SAM’s shares, what should we do?
For a small deal like this, William usually wouldn’t need to intervene. But since the Filo Group was his opponent, his interest was piqued.
“They want to be secretive, huh? Then let’s ensure they make the headlines on the Faldorian Daily. Report them to the regulatory authorities for exploiting legal loopholes and engaging in illegal activities, William said.
This would undoubtedly stop the Filo Group’s clever scheme. Since they wanted to play dirty, they couldn’t blame William for retaliating.
“Yes!” the manager responded.
William crossed his legs and spoke calmly. “If Jaime refuses a polite offer, then we’ll have to force his hand with a more punitive one.”
They had also accumulated a substantial number of SAM shares from a secondary market, no less than the Filo Group’s holdings. It was time to determine who would ultimately
DID SAM.
Soon, the Elo Group’s secretive dealings with SAM became headline news.
SAM was shocked and filed a lawsuit that same day, demanding the court declare the Filo Group’s actions as a hostile takeover. They claimed that Filo Group’s actions were a violation of the Securities Exchange Act and the Company Law.
The court accepted the case, but the Filo Group remained silent. As the news spread, speculators sensed an opportunity and flooded the market SAM’s stock price, which had been stagnant for half a year, suddenly skyrocketed.
Amidst the chaos, at the Denning Residence, Emelie had just woken up. She headed downstairs for breakfast.
Wesley was already seated at the dining table. After she sat down, the servants brought out a breakfast spread. There were tuna croissants, sausages, roasted potatoes, fried eggs, vegetable salad, and a cappuccino adorned with latte art.
Wesley pointed to the newspaper on the table. “Your secret deal with the investment banks has been exposed. The public is criticizing your underhanded tactics while sympathizing with SAM being forcefully acquired.”
He continued, “SAM’s stock price is soaring. This isn’t favorable to you. What’s your next move?”
Emelie sat down and took a sip of coffee. Despite her plan being uncovered and even sabotaged, she remained composed.
“Are you leaving everything to me?” she asked.
Wesley asked, “So, even I can’t know? Are you afraid I’ll leak your plan?”
Emelie smiled. “Thaven’t handed in my exam paper yet. How can the teacher grade it in advance?”
“Alright then, I won’t ask. But you should know that the Cedonian company has also made a move. Things are even more difficult for you now,” Wesley said with a pointed look. Emelle nodded. “My opponent is indeed impressive. They could discover what I’m doing behind the scenes so quickly, and an ocean across too.”
Wesley paused before asking. “He’s your rival, and you’re praising him?”
“I’m simply stating the truth,” Emelie said.
She continued, “He used others to do the dirty work. He exposed my plan, forcing SAM to sue me. He didn’t even have to lift a finger. While I’m entangled in a lawsuit with SAM, he’s quietly buying more SAM’s stock. He’s using force too, but the public only blames me white be benefits.”
“It’s a Cedonian company, alright. The business tactic they used is common in Cedonia. Emelle was genuinely curious. “Which company is it? Perhaps I mow them. After all, she had worked in Cedonia for many years. Property © of .
Wesley didn’t answer and just gestured to her to eat her breakfast, which was getting cold.
Emelie decided not to press the matter further. Who her rival was didn’t matter. She just needed to beat them.
She quickly finished her breakfast and prepared to leave.
Wesley glanced at her untouched croissant and asked, “Is it the croissant you don’t like, or the tuna?”
“The buna is fishy. The smell makes me want to vomit,” Emelie replied, taking a tissue. She called jodie and left with her.
Wesley watched her leave and turned to a maid. “Let’s have a cedonian breakfast tomorrow. She didn’t seem to enjoy this.”
Linelle was already eager about the challenge in the first place, so the presence of another opponent only fueled her competitive spirit. Her mood was better than usual.
On the other hand, Jodie was anxious “Miss, your plan has been exposed. The original strategy won’t work anymore. What should we do next?
