Goodbye Summer

Goodbye Summer

Days of summer are at an end; I lay back on cool green grass, close my eyes, and let my memories open boxes of the experiences I'm never going to forget:

Days of laughter running around with my siblings, learning the importance of family seemingly far too late. College is just around the corner and the little ones won't have many memories of me, so might as well make these ones count.

Days of traveling, Disney songs, and roasting marshmallows around a campfire, laughing about embarrassing stories and enjoying our time together as a family.

Days of learning how to thrive in this pandemic, although many have survived tradgedies before. The sun still rose during the Black Death and the sun set while many suffered from the Spanish Flu. While soldiers fought in trenches during World War I, the sun rose into the sky and dipped back behind the horizon as World War II soldiers lay their heads to sleep. Our world has learned to survive hardships before, so we just gotta trust that we're going to survive these hardships too.
