The year is 1450 in the joyful and lively kingdom of Wallachia. Everyone gets along with each other very well. But little did the people know of what exists inside the dark forest. A woman who quenches her thirst with blood named, Lucinda Noptescu resides in her ruined castle that sits in the deep part of the woods. She never chose to be a vampire and live for eternity. She was once a kind, gentle, and courageous woman, but a cruel witch whose heart is pitch black turned her into a creature of the night. The people know nothing of her existence and she prefers to keep it that way. But one day, a young boy named Stefan gets lost in the woods and ends up discovering Lucinda's castle.
