Jia YiFei’s POV:
“Yes Master” The metallic voice once again reverberated.
Then, a flash of bright light took Jia YiFei back to the Boundless Celestial world.
She smelled a medicinal aroma wafting throughout the spacious bedroom, opening her eyes she saw a woman she assumed to be her mother swaddling her in a canopy bed.
‘Wow, my mom is really beautiful. I must be good-looking too in this life, I wonder what my name will be? Mom, that's a weird word, strangely this feeling is pretty nice though.
Her thoughts were disrupted by the bedroom door opening, a man about 1.9m tall, with ceramic white skin and short black hair, dressed in a scholarly robe sauntered in and gently caressed her mother and her. Slowly, a foreign feeling welled up from the bottom of YiFei’s heart.
While she was familiarising herself with this new,yet enjoyable feeling. The system’s voice once again sounded in her mind, and an image appeared in her head.
The image read:Detected the host has utilised one system function, issuing the first mission. Meet Han Kuang. Difficulty:Easy. Rewards:100 spirit stones and 3 Pillars of Swordsmanship Manual(Common Rank)
‘Oh my, for an easy mission the rewards are pretty amazing. I guess the 3 pillars are slashing, stabbing and parrying. Not that great, but the 100 spirit stones is the worthwhile half!’
The reason she was so excited was that by reading the web-novel, she learned that 1 spirit stone would basically be worth 100 Gold Taels, with 100 Spirit stones she would be able to purchase a decently sized courtyard in the capital, or a nice apartment.
Yes, this world had apartments, carriages that ran on Qi, and even planes for wealthy mortals! After all, it was super unrealistic that a cultivation world would completely lack innovation, the world is still mostly composed of mortals. How could the mortals be satisfied living in a shithole for thousands of years?
In fact, in this world most cultivators did not disdain or discriminate against mortals. Cultivation was the act of seizing one’s fate and tempering oneself. Why would cultivators look down on those lacking the fate or talent to do so? They should hate the heavens instead.
As Jia YiFei continued to ponder about what she would do with her current 3000 spirit stones and future 100 spirit stones. Han Kuang was desperately trying to recall his past life.
Han Kuang’s POV:
‘That fucking Lu RenHao, the 4th prince of the Lu empire, was 10 years younger than me. As long as I can get the Emperor away from his harem, or get Concubine Yang away from the emperor I can prevent him from being conceived! Also I need to rush to the library to get the secret manual early.’ Han Kuang was so preoccupied with his thoughts that he completely did not realise that they had shifted from the infirmary to his parents’ bedroom.
“Han Jun, this is your younger brother Han Kuang, you have to take care of him from now on.” His Father, Han Lin said to his older brother Han Jun.
Han Jun eagerly nodded, using his right hand to give a thumbs up. Then, Han Jun used his finger to gently prod Han Kuang cheeks hoping to get an adorable reaction.
‘Looks like my brother is the same as ever, I can’t wait to grow up and start cultivating, I may not be able to catch up to him since he has a Supreme Lightning physique, and our family specialises in Lightning techniques. But…’ As Han Kuang realised that he may forever be under his brother’s thumb he started to dread his future.
Stolen novel; please report.
Then, a beautiful pink flower petal drifted into the bedroom, ultimately landing on Han Kuang’s right hand.
The setting seemed to transform from one of a happy family celebrating their younger son's birth to the lonely scene of Han Kuang celebrating his fourth birthday with only his maid,Hui Xuan, and his brother Han Jun surrounding the table.
In his past life Han Kuang would look forlorn, however in this life he had a cheeky grin on his face as he mischievously threw a longevity bun towards his brother.
In the past four years, things basically went the same as his past life. But there were two differences!
The first difference is that he used his fourth birthday gift to enter the family's library pagoda to obtain his founding ancestor's personal manual,The legendary Great Raging Storm technique.
The raging storm signified absolute destruction and a violent intensity. If one could control and master the fiercest of Qi’s there was nothing unattainable. Sadly, his ancestor ascended by beating one of the Heavenly Dao’s avatars and left their family behind.
The Second difference is his future hero brother who previously found his lover later on in life now had a potential childhood fiance! Also...his relationship with his brother is much better in this life, though he would never admit it.
A month passed since his fourth birthday:
“Second Young Master, please come out! It is time for you to meet your brother’s prospective fiancee!” Hui Xuan yelled from outside Han Kuang’s courtyard, separate from the main courtyard.
Their family had a tradition where only the heir could live in the main abode, this is to solidify their position by letting the retainers get familiar with them, and gather supporters earlier. Furthermore, the other children could only meet their parents at official events and banquets.
In his past life, this greatly affected Han Kuang. He constantly felt neglected and unloved, beginning to rebel at the age of 14 by sneaking out to the city.
By the time his parents realised, he was always out and they could not accompany him regardless. All they could do was regret all the times they turned him down.
Han Kuang quickly shut his book, after placing a pressed pink flower bookmark in the page he was on.
The book was the secret manual he wanted to obtain from his family’s library since he was born. He only found it a month before he died, far too late.
He had been diligently studying it since he obtained it on his fourth birthday.
‘Just a few more days, and I will have comprehended how to undergo the Body Tempering stage. If only they let me go to the library when I was 3!’ Han Kuang lamented.
He slowly stood up from his bed, placing the book on a nearby desk.
Exerting all his strength to push open the heavy wooden door, Han Kuang stepped into his courtyard, bowed to the 2 guards stationed by his house’s entrance and walked towards Hui Xuan, waiting at his courtyard’s entrance.
“So Hui Xuan, who is this candidate? It’s hard to imagine a person suitable for my elder brother. When he was born, images of the Ancestral Dragon appeared! He is a once in a million years genius! Plus, our family is one of the three founding families!” Han Kuang said in a curious and slightly proud tone.
He was incredibly worried about this new variable and wondered if this would disrupt his plans and future events. Though, it was possible that the child just hid away as a hermit expert or he didn't pay attention in his past life.
“Well, she is from the prestigious Jia family, and when she was born the Great Sword Immortal appeared! She is a true martial prodigy and has been practising the sword since she was 2 years old, by the way she has the same birthday as you! Maybe you might feel a spark!” Hui Xuan joked playfully.
Hui Xuan and Han Kuang had a close relationship, having only deteriorated when Han Kuang started rebelling.
Just then, the duo was blocked by a lone girl, who appeared to be 4 years old. The girl had stunningly delicate features, from her flawless porcelain skin, to her large almond eyes, slender, straight nose, and her long eyelashes.
Though she was incredibly young, if she kept those features when she grew up Han Kuang and Hui Xuan both instinctively knew that she would easily be the world’s most beautiful woman.
Of course, Han Kuang did not do anything other than praise her beauty. After all mentally he was 120 years old! How could he have designs on a 4 year old girl? That is just messed up.
Jia YiFei’s POV:
Outside a large residence, surrounded by a large concrete wall painted gold, embellished with various metal reinforcements. Jia YiFei’s personal Qi carriage stopped.
Her maidservant promptly stepped out of the car and opened Jia YiFei’s door, then a small foot wearing a cute pink shoe stepped out.
‘So this is where it all starts huh! Though I may not be Han Kuang’s fiance, it's only a matter of time before I get with him and we can start a family of 10! First thing is to give him the Mountain Shattering Fists Manual and become his friend!’ Jai YiFei enthusiastically thought.
She then gracefully stepped through the residence’s elaborate gate, with large oak wood doors.
Stepping through the doors, she was greeted by Han Jun and his large entourage of retainers.
“Welcome to my family’s humble abode Lady Jia. Pl-” As Han Jun was about to continue his sentence, he was interrupted by Jia YiFei talking over him.
“Yeah, nice to meet you too! Great house! I am going to find your younger brother now, thanks!”
Upon finishing her sentence, she rushed off to the right, where the novel stated Han Kuang’s courtyard was located.
Han Jun was left in utter disbelief, his mouth still agape from speaking. Slowly, his face contorted to one of amusement.
“HAHAHAHA, it seems my brother is going to have a hard time in the future with such a lively suitor!” Han Jun chuckled loudly as he bent forwards and held his sides.
Meanwhile, the retainers behind him were discussing whether Han Kuang was trying to usurp Han Jun’s position as heir in hushed murmurs.
