Once again, I ran through the forest to find stuff to kill. I didn't see much except for a few flying monsters that were too fast to get near as they flew away and blended into the treetops. It was pissing me off that I couldn't find much. They could be hiding from all the noise I am making, or they already run away before I even got here.
Getting annoyed, I stopped running full speed through the forest and slowed to where it was harder to hear me moving through the brush and root-infested area. Sure sufficient something came insight. Frightling Lv: 4 Tier 1. Slowly I approached, watching from the treeline. A dog with a human face and a row of sharp teeth was moving back toward the pond. It was at least 2ft (0.61 m) long and 1ft (0.3 m) tall. It didn't look too clever as it chose to ignore everything around it, probably thinking it was the top dog or something like that. I knew I should play it safe and fight smart, but after that first fight, I couldn't fight like that. It felt like something was missing from the one-sided slaughter—putting the skin off in a brush to keep it from getting damaged during the fight.
Looking at the Frightling closer, it was easy to tell it was STR-focused with its muscles but looked slower than me. I got ahead by a good 25ft (7.62 m) and stepped out onto its trail. It stopped and looked at me before howling to say I was an idiot for trying to fight it. Maybe I was, but I wouldn't let that stop me.
“Come on, already fucking ugly bastard.” I roared at it. It stopped and looked at me for a second before it realized I had just insulted it. The Frightling's face snarled up into a hideous visage. It became a rage-fueled Idiot as it ran toward me. Before the fight, I had managed to refill my MP to full from how long it took to find the beast now charging at me.
Light Bolt was shot six times repeatedly at its front left leg. The first two bolts hit halfway away, tearing it up, but it still ran toward me. A second later, the rest came towards its leg again, but because it stumbled, 3 hit it in the chest while the last one struck its left ear tearing a large chunk out of it. But it still shrugged all that off, and limp ran towards me. Having used up 12 mp with that last attack. I prepared myself with two Inferior Void Slashes. When it reached me, I stepped to where I had injured it, and as I did that, it reared up and tried to stomp me where I was just at.
My left claw glowed with power as I raked it across the joint where the leg met the shoulder. As my claws bit into the flesh of this thing, It hit the bone and stopped before sliding across and out, not dealing much damage. Seeing this, I aimed for its stomach. Before I shot, it bashed its body into me, selling 6 points of damage to me. Still, I grit my teeth and slash with my right claw aiming for anything I can hit. My claws swiped down its beefy back before I was sent flying a few feet back.
I am faster be he is more robust and more durable. I had to be careful. I had around four heals left and one shot, maybe less if I shot it more, seeing as the light did more damage. The Frightling was not doing that well, either. I think it has around half its health left from how mangled its leg and chest are. I cast another Inferior Light Bolt and let it hang beside my head. It seemed to be paying more attention than it did me seeing how it had done more damage than I did my claws.
It charged again towards me, keeping the bolt in sight, not letting it out of view. This was good for me, and I ran toward it too. When I was 5ft (1.52 m) away, I fired the bolt towards the face and watched as it reared up, trying to block it from hitting it in the face with its chest again and slid under it. Taking both my claws, I ripped at the unprotected area around its stomach, pushing them as deep as they would. I only got them about 5 inches (0.13 m) into its gut before feeling it coming down from rearing up. I used my legs to launch myself to the side before it came crashing down on top of me.
It made a loud wack as it dropped all of its weight. Before it could figure out I was not there, I went towards its face and plunged both of my claws toward its neck and eye. It screamed in pain as it tried to bite me, but because of the angle I was at, it couldn't reach me with its mouth. Seeing as the fight was already over, I pushed even deeper going as far as I could. My left hand went more profound than my right as I penetrated its brain. Soon it ceased to move anymore as not even a growl came out of the limp body. A slight ding noise rang in my head as it died, which confused me.
Frightling Lv 4 Tier 1 slain exp being awarded. I had never heard it make a noise before it showed me a message from the system. I wonder if I can get it to only ding, and when I get to a safe area, I can go over them. Because if I can get it to put the message off to the side where it won't block my vision, It would be safer for me when fighting to not get distracted.

You have leveled up. Now Lv 2. You gain STR +2, INT +2, and VIT +1. You have earned 2 Free points. Light Bolt tier 1 has reached Lv: 2/5
The gains from killing the beast were good. I'll invest the free points after I return to the pond and rest for a bit. Going over to the corpse, I rip off a thick leg of meat and go to pick up the skin of the Hollow Kit that was put off to the side. While that happens, I use an Inferior Healing to top off my health. It leaves me with 28 mp left for a fight in case something comes my way, thinking I'm exhausted from my battle just now. 4 heals and four shots are not foul, but I should head back. But I hope to run into more stuff along the way. Holding the skin back with my tail and eating with my left hand, I went back towards the red pond.
Few came towards me when I traveled on the trail that headed to the pond, but I mostly watched from the shadows of the trees or in the treetops. Some couldn't blend in at all but were enticed by the smell of blood dripping from the leg I held. But I didn't attack, waiting for a chance to strike after I fought a stupid monster that challenged me. It was boring with them all watching and not fighting.
I moved the now half leg of meat at the monsters trying to make them attack. I will give up two heals for nine shots of Inferior Light Bolt. “What's wrong? You stupid bastards can't come out of the shadows to fight little old me for some juicy meat. What are you, cowards.” I jeered towards them.
All kinds of noises could be heard as anger filled them. The smart ones backed away, while some dumb ones came to meet me. Three monsters came out into sight. Grimeling Lv: 2 Tier 1. Grimeling Lv:1 Tier 1. Grimeling Lv: 2 Tier 1.
The left and right had higher levels than the ones in the middle. Not seeing any choice now, I used those Free points to Increase my AGI by 2 points once again as the pain hit my body, but it wasn't as bad as when my body was being created from nothing so that I could deal with it. The changes occurred almost instantly, but the pain was there as a dull ache pushed me back into my mind.
The Grimelings were a tad pool-looking monster with pale white skin that was almost. Two legs were as thick as the one I was eating, with little arms that only looked like they were used for pushing off the ground when they launched. The most dangerous thing about them was their whip-like tongues, which came out 5ft (1.52 m) from themselves.
As they began to move closer by launching themselves at me, I shot both the left and right as they flew through the air with four shots of Inferior Light Bolts each while saving one by my head just if I needed to get out of a jam if I had to. The bolts ripped them to shreds as they struck their targets, leaving the middle one alive. 2 dings rang out in my head, but the messages didn't pop up into view. That was good.
Looking at the last monster left in front of me, its eyes showed fear when looking at me, having killed its brethren in less than a second. It looked around in fear as it tried to find an escape from me. Well, I'm not going to let it escape. That would be stupid of me to allow that to happen and give this thing a chance for revenge. It turned and tried to flee towards the pond, which was at least an hour away, so yeah, it was not getting away from me.
I picked up the skin with my tail again and ran after it leaving the meat leg behind. Little did I care for what the other monsters did with the corpses of the Grimelings I had just killed.
Before the Grimeling laded from launching into the air, I had already sent the last bolt toward its knee to cripple it. And my shot was accurate as it tore through the knee, making it slam into the ground as it landed on the said knee. It whipped its tongue at me as I closed the distance to it. A small gash cut me on my stomach as I evaded the blow heading to my head by twisting. As I got close, its tongue had less opportunity to hit me. It tried its hardest to escape by thrashing around to keep me at bay. I jumped on top of it back and stomped the fuck out of its head. And then, good stomps later, it died, and I got another ding. I didn't stay and went straight towards the pond as soon as possible, not wanting any more attention from the local wildlife, thinking the fight weakened me.
Just before I got into the area around the pond, I fired off the rest of my MP with Inferior Void Bolts, raising it to level 2/5. Today was a good hunt, but for now, I have to regenerate more of my resources. Waiting will be boring, so I'll have to play around with a few ideas while waiting here. I might be able to raise my stats or gain new skills by doing things, but for now, I will have to wait and see if my theories are true or not.

Spider POV
Unknown to him then, the spider he gave food to found the other kills he did and shared with the weaker members of her race. An army was born from the kindness shown to it; the monsters of the surrounding area watched in horror as around 50 spiders descended on the kills, making hunting teams that would gang up on others from the treetops.
I will raise more of my kind and those that will follow with the kindness I have learned from that strange monster. It indeed was of the Mother's holy light. Praise be to the Mother and her chosen children. I want to meet the beast to show him what we can become.
