End of test 49(1)

End of test 49(1)

Everyone in the courtyard turned to look at Wang Zikai, baffled by what he found so amusing.

Exhausted from laughing, Wang Zikai shoved away Fat Jun, who had been supporting him, and swaggered unsteadily towards Gao Yang, his steps still full of misplaced arrogance.

Just as Gao Yang slowly stood up, Wang Zikai slapped him hard on the shoulder. "I knew it! You're still a virgin, aren't you!"

"Shut up..." Gao Yang almost rolled his eyes in exasperation—he couldn’t be more embarrassed.

"You thought you could fool me? Hahaha!" Wang Zikai burst into laughter again.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Wu Dahai was getting annoyed. He ran a hand through his meticulously styled pompadour. "So what if he's a virgin!"

Wang Zikai glanced back at Wu Dahai, grinning, "Brother, you too?"

"Yeah, so what?" Tengu chimed in, his lazy tone carrying a hint of irritation.

"What the hell! You’re all virgins?" Wang Zikai was ecstatic, feeling an odd sense of camaraderie. "Well, from now on, we're family!"

"Not Uncle Dead Pig, though," White Rabbit stepped forward, patting the still-sleeping Dead Pig. "He’s been married before."

That “before” was delivered with a peculiar precision.

Wang Zikai’s smile froze. "No way... Someone actually wanted him?"

He sighed dramatically. "Damn it, life is just too unfair!"

"Exactly!" Wu Dahai echoed indignantly. "Even Dead Pig got a wife, but guys as handsome as us can’t find anyone..."

Wang Zikai and Wu Dahai exchanged glances, then suddenly, as if struck by a mutual understanding, they grasped each other's hands, sparks flying between them. In perfect harmony, they exclaimed:

"I get you!"

"I get you!"

White Rabbit, holding a baseball bat, sighed and rubbed her forehead. "You two should just be together. Solve the problem internally so you don’t trouble other girls."

"So, does this mean we can join the organization?" Officer Huang, who had remained silent, finally spoke up. He was still sitting on the ground, a half-empty bottle of glucose in hand.

"Yes. Gao Yang, Qing Ling, Huang Qi," White Rabbit officially announced, "congratulations. You’ve passed the test and joined the organization."

"Ah!" Officer Huang let out a long breath, flopping down with his arms outstretched, not even caring that the ground was littered with beast corpses. "Adulthood... is just too hard!"

Though they had narrowly escaped death, they had finally survived the ordeal.

Gao Yang also sighed in relief, unscrewing a bottle of mineral water and taking a long drink.

At that moment, Qing Ling, who had been lying unconscious on the ground, blinked her eyes slightly. The bloodstains on her face had been wiped away by someone, leaving her complexion as clean as before.

Two seconds later, her eyes flew open.

Gao Yang recognized immediately—it wasn’t Qing Ling, but Qing Ling’s other persona, Qing Lian.

Qing Lian’s face was filled with terror, her entire body trembling, breathing rapidly. When she saw Gao Yang nearby, she rushed towards him as if he were her lifeline, clutching his shirt with trembling hands, burying her face in his chest, crying silently. Her hot tears soaked through his clothes, the warmth seeping directly into his skin.

"It’s okay now, it's okay... You’re safe," Gao Yang, not knowing how to comfort her, could only gently pat her shoulder. For a normal human girl to have gone through all of this and still hold on—it was already remarkable.

"Hey, hold on..." Wu Dahai, looking displeased, turned to Tengu. "I’m the one who made that heroic entrance and took down that hair monster. So why is she hugging this loser? Tengu, didn’t I tell you to make sure she witnessed my grand moment? You promised to help me impress her! What the hell!"

"She was already unconscious by then," Tengu shrugged.

"Good thing she didn’t see it. Otherwise, your chances with her would’ve gone from 1% to 0.1%." White Rabbit added with a smirk.

As they spoke, Qing Lian had already composed herself. She pushed Gao Yang away without hesitation, wiped her tear-streaked face, and coldly muttered, "Hold on. I’ll bring my sister out."
