Chapter 9 "Village Crisis"

Chapter 9 "Village Crisis"

Somewhere within the borderline of the Demonic Forest. There were three figures that could be seen. Two of the figures were walking out of the Demonic Forest side by side. The third figure was unconscious and was being carried by one of the two walking figures. One can see that the unconscious figure, being carried was an extremely beautiful woman in a silky golden gown, this unconscious beauty was none other than Diana.

The beauty was extremely captivating, especially, in her sleeping-like state. Only one word could describe her elegant, sleeping body. Charming. Any man would give anything just to be able to have and to hold such a women.

Currently, there was a figure carrying such beauty. If there was a crowd of men's nearby they would definitely flock over the beauty in the figure’s embrace. However, they would not immediately flock if one was to see who was carrying the beauty because the figure carrying the unconscious beauty was a young handsome man.

That young handsome man didn’t even seem to be past the age of 18. He wore a golden coat that covered from neck to toes with a dragon embedded onto the golden coat, coiling around him. There was also an insignia of a blue Phoenix being coiled by a blood-red scaled dragon that had a snake-like body, on the left side of his chest. With a glance, one can tell that this young and handsome man was not simple. This figure was none other than Luc that was holding onto Diana in his embrace.

Beside Luc was a figure that was a head shorter than Luc. That figure was in a delicately made hanfu that had would outshine any professional artisans masterpiece. Along with the hanfu, there To seemed to be a noble aura coming off him. That noble aura was being emitted from the way how he looked along with his abnormal red-hair and eyes that seemed like it was the scorching flames of hell itself. This was none other than Ryu who Luc had saved from the five-man group.

Walking out of the Demonic Forest, stepping out of the overcasting shadows, Luc looked up into the sky. Staring at the clear blue sky with the sun high in the sky, feeling the rays of heat hitting against his skin, and the sound of wind whispering next to his ears. Luc closed his eyes to fully indulge in the bliss he currently felt.

“Umm, Lord Luc, excuse me for interrupting you but we need to find a nearby civilization.”

Shortly after a moment of closing his eyes, there was a childish voice that had awoken Luc from his blissful state.

Looking towards the source of the childish voice. Luc was staring at Ryu straight into the eyes.

“Civilization?” Luc questioned with eyes staring blankly at Ryu as if he didn’t understand what Ryu was saying.

Hearing Luc question, Ryu was quick to reply as he said “Yes Lord Luc, we need to find a place to rest and food to eat. So the only place like that would be a populated city for people like you that have high status. If you were to spend the night in a village or poor town, then you wouldn’t find the things you want to satisfy your needs. Also, those places are not fit for people that have a high status in society.

“Also, since we just got out of the Demonic Forest and the only closest civilization should be a couple hundred of miles away from the Demonic Forest.” Taking a couple of steps in front of Luc, Ryu said with a hint of longing in his voice

“What is so bad about a village? What is even a town? And why do you think a city would be best for me?” Luc asked with calmness all over his face as if he already knew the answer to the questions, but the excitement was exploding within his heart but held his calm demeanor on the outside.

Being bombarded with Luc’s questions and being surprised at his knowledge extent, even Ryu was surprised. However, Ryu quickly treated those questions as nothing but a test to see how well he could answer Luc, in the end, he may reap benefits. So without delay, Ryu began to explain as they walked on an open field of healthy green grass.

“A village is a place that I was born in, also known as a place for the poor. If one was able to raise livestock than they were wealthy. If one didn’t then they would be known as the poorest of the poor, which they struggle to find food, and even die. Although one can survive by building one’s own home and live by stealing or hunting, most villagers survive by working together.

However, that doesn’t mean that every village works together because in some village people would kill you and you wouldn’t even know the reason why you died.

But for those that work together, the people need to hunt together just to get enough food for everyone, however, there is always a Village Chief in each village. The Village Chief would distribute the food, and usually, they would be greedy and take most for themselves. Which is why villages are not a place for people with high status to stay at because of how dirty it is.” Ryu said with a hint of hatred and his eyes glittered with redness as if he was recalling past memories.

“As for Towns, those places are better—”

However, before Ryu even got to finish explaining what towns and cities are Luc had interrupted. Seeing Ryu’s face that had a hint of anger and deep hatred Luc was immediately interested and couldn’t help but to interrupt Ryu.

“Alright, let’s go!”

Shortly after interrupting Ryu, Luc had spread out his divine sense in a five-hundred miles circumference. At that moment, every single living being and non-living within Luc’s divine sense could be seen in his head like a map laid out. The time it took for Luc to cover five-hundred miles with divine sense was about the time one needed to breathe, even top experts in the East Continent would be shocked by what was happening.

Immediately right after Luc had sensed what was within his divine sense, he had grabbed onto Ryu’s shoulder. Bright lights had enveloped Luc and Ryu, *woosh* before Ryu even had the time to retaliate or complain they had instantly vanished into thin air. There were no ripples, not even a trace of Heavenly Yuan that should’ve been emitted from the body. It was as if there was nothing there to begin with.

A couple seconds later, a figure had appeared and worn a dark gray cloak with a blue life-like sword embedded onto the cloak. The grey-cloaked figure was standing still; however, if one was to see this view they would be shocked. Because right now the grey-cloaked figure was not standing on land. He was standing on air. That’s right, the grey-cloaked figure was flying.

“Hmm, there seems to be an outstanding genius within these lands. To make me lose track of him and to have noticed me, this kid is clearly not simple. How come I have never seen him before? Nor have I heard of him?”

Speaking to himself, the grey-cloaked figure was looking at the area of where Luc and Ryu had been. Shortly afterward, a smile could be seen emerging from the grey-cloaked figure. Before one knew it, the grey-cloaked figure had turned into a beam of gray light and flew off into the distance.

************

*Woosh woosh*

Everything had happened so quickly and Ryu’s view of the surrounding had only blurred for a moment. However, that moment had shocked him into the very depths of his heart once he opened his eyes.

Before regaining clarity in his vision, Ryu could hear the cheerful voices of children laughing, arguing, yelling, and crying. Regaining his vision, Ryu clearly saw groups of kids playing together. Near the group of kids, there were multiple groups of adults that were currently busy; the men were chopping down trees, dragging in the fresh load of animals they hunted and sharpening their tools. There were also groups of women, from young to old, at the moment doing various chores, such as cooking, cleaning, taking care of infants, and washing clothes by the stream nearby.

Staring in shock, Ryu slowly shifted his gaze from the groups of people in front of him to Luc. Because Ryu definitely knew that they were at a village. The thing that surprised Ryu the most was, how did they get there?

One had to know that the Demonic Forest was a dangerous place that even experts wouldn’t dare head in there rashly, much less, an ordinary person. This was why any civilization would not dare live close to the Demonic Forest, only the poor would have to live closer.

Even then, the distance for a civilization to be found should be a few hundred miles away. At the time they just got out of the Demonic Forest and was not even close to a single village. Yet in a blink of an eye, they had arrived in front of a village.

As a kid, Ryu had definitely heard of stories about the legends; people having the ability to fly, the strength to overturn kingdoms, and the ability to annihilate armies themselves as if they were merely cutting grass. There were people in the legends that were capable of shaking the Heaven.

However, what Luc had shown was out of common sense in this world because there was no flying involved, and no Heaven and Earth shattering martial skill or cultivation skill. Just simply unordinary

Feeling Ryu’s gaze, Luc had simply shrugged his shoulders as if it was nothing. After shrugging, Luc had walked towards the group of women while holding the unconscious Diana like a Princess.

“Hey, hey look, someone is coming!”

With Luc walking towards the group of women, only then did they start to realize someone was approaching.

“Excuse me, young ladies, I have a friend here unconscious and I was hoping if you had a place for us to take shelter and to rest.” While walking towards the group of women, Luc had asked out to get their attention.

Upon hearing Luc’s request, most of the young women in the group who had turned towards the charming voice. However, when they saw the figure who had such a charming voice, they were all dumbstruck. They were currently looking at Luc’s extremely radiant elegant cold face, his sparkling deep blue eyes that seem to contain the starry sky itself, and his black shiny, silky hair flowing down his shoulders.

The hearts of the many women wavered, especially for the ones in their youthful years. even if they were married they had felt something igniting from within their body. For the first time in their lifetime, they can truly say that they now know what lust is. With his looks alone, Luc can cause goddess to wage war just so that they can embrace him. So how can ordinary women resist?

While the ladies were drooling as they were staring at the eye candy in front of them, not far away from them, a group of men that had finished their duties and caught sight of the group of young women ogling over at Luc.

“Hey! What are you guys doing over there!?!”

Within the group of men, there was a middle-aged man with an average built body that had yelled out in anger and quickly rushed over. Separating the group of women and Luc, also sending Luc a meaningful hateful look while exerting his aura at the 8th level of the Foundation Stage.

“Ahh!”

Those young ladies had cried out in surprise, the middle-aged man had snapped out the group of women back into reality from their day dream-like state. There was a shade of red on each and every single one of their faces, because of the intimacy they had imagined doing with Luc in their head. Even the ones that were married had a deeper shade of red.

“Ah, husband, it is not what you think. This young man had just come up to us and asked if we have a place to shelter him and his friends.”

A woman that was in her early-twenties had quickly replied to the angry middle-aged man. Although a village was poor, it didn’t mean that no beauty could be born here. But in the village, the middle-aged women could be count as a beauty if compared to most of the plain, and youthful ladies in the group.

Hearing so, the middle-aged man quickly withdrew his aura in the 8th level of the Foundation Stage. Preventing any unnecessary injuries that may occur to those that do not have any cultivation.

“Ahh, so that’s how it is, I am thoroughly sorry for jumping to conclusions and if my actions earlier had offended you, I would like to apologize again.”

Clasping his hand and slightly bowing towards Luc, showing his sincere. The middle-aged man had apologized because of jumping straight into the conclusion of Luc trying to seduce his wife when none of that was true. One can see that he truly believes in his wife, or else if it was another man he might have used violence instead.

Seeing her husband apologize in a way without greetings, the middle-aged women nudged him on the elbow and lightly coughed.

Catching onto his wife’s meaning, the middle-aged man had clasped his hand again and stated who he was.

“Oh—Ahem, I am ashamed that I even forgot proper greetings. I am the youngest son of the Village Chief and soon to be Chief, Alex.” Alex said with a proud expression and following that, he wrapped one of his arms around the middle-aged women waist and pulled her closer to him. “This is my beautiful wife, Scarlet, the most beautiful women I have ever seen.”

Alex was looking at Scarlet as he said that. Facing Alex lovely gaze and actions, Scarlet had actually blushed. Clearly, these two couples were deeply in love with one and another.

Watching the scene played out, Luc just stood there unknowingly what to do, however, just at that moment, a voice could be heard coming from Luc’s side. It was none other than Ryu.

“ Umm, excuse me, but Lord Luc wants to find a place to stay to take care of his companion here,” Ryu said while pointing towards the unconscious Diana within Luc’s arms.

Following the direction Ryu was pointing, Alex and Scarlet were now starting to realize Luc’s handsomely-made clothing and Ryu’s. Both of them especially focused on the word ‘Lord’ and could tell they were not simple figures.

“Ah, this lowly one apologizes for wasting this great one time.”

Quickly bowing, Alex and Scarlet had now realized that they had been in front of a highly figure the whole time without being respectful and spoke out casually. Feeling dreadful fear creeping up within their hearts and afraid of any consequences that may happen.

They had once heard what had happened to a nearby village, there was a Village Chief's daughter that had caught the attention of young master from a noble family. Due to not welcoming the young master from a noble family, he had taken the Village Chief’s daughter and killed off half the villagers.

So the two married couple were in deep fear, thinking of what they had done might have brought a catastrophe to the village safety, the two of them were drenched in sweat.

“What are you two doing? I just want a place to rest, do you have what I require?”

Just when the two couple were in deep fear, Luc had spoken casually. Without any negligence, quickly the two rose and respectfully let Luc know that they do have room for him to rest. Leading Luc to his room, they had made Luc wait outside for a bit longer as they tidy up the room. Surprisingly, the poor looking village actually has a comfortable room that was also clean and even Ryu was surprised.

“Is there anything else you need Lord?” Alex said as he stood respectfully outside of the open door before asking.

“There is nothing else that I need at the moment. Actually, this village seems pretty peaceful so far.” Luc said as he softly patted on the head of the unconscious Diana that was laying on the bed.

Hearing what Luc had said, a melancholy expression could be seen on Alex’s face. Taking a deep breath after a moment of contemplating, Alex had spoken out.

“Actually milord, what you said was correct, yet wrong.”

The melancholy expression on Alex face made Luc feel as if something must be off.

“Oh? How so?”

Peaking Luc’s interest even further, he had to know what was going on to make this unknown feeling inside of him settle down. Luc felt as if he had the impulse to make Alex let him know everything just to make him be at peace with his curiosity. Like telling someone a secret but never letting them know what the secret is.

“Milord, to be frank, since I have already told you that I am currently going to be the next village chief and that I am the youngest son of the Village Chief. You should know that I have other older siblings. I have two older brothers, eldest is called Jake and the second eldest is called Fang. Usually, the position of the village chief goes to the eldest son—”

Taking a deep breath, Alex had stopped momentarily, as if he was recalling a past conflict between his eldest brother before continuing.

“The position goes to the eldest brother, however, I was chosen instead. My elder brother Jake had a huge argument with my father and left the village three years ago. In these recent years, there have been attacks from various bandit and gangs, sadly, these people were sent by my elder brother Jake to force my father to change his decision. Now that the new village chief ceremony is nearing, and seeing that my father still hasn’t changed his decision about making me village chief. Eldest brother Jake had sent over a force that could destroy this village and pressured my father in giving up his position to give it to eldest brother.”
