{Gen Savage}
I was so excited. Big brother had just given us our first mission and I wouldn't fail him. I wasn’t sure about Ket, the little Racoon girl dressed in overalls, a long sleeve shirt under them and thick glasses that made her silver eyes look large. Her long hair was messy like always and her long racoon ears were on the alert scanning everyone around us. Her long bushy was still behind her. It was clear she was bothered by this change. I found the little racoon to be cute as hell despite being two years younger than Snow and I.
The bunny girl in question was bouncing with excitement and smiling in the cutest way. She had short silver, white hair, and long white rabbit ears. Red eyes were nearly slits as she looked over at me. She smiled showing buck teeth.
“I can hear your heart and know you are excited about this. Do you think we’ll fight some bandits or maybe take on a demon lord or army?” She had her gloved fists punched the air. I had been on the receiving end of those punches and knew they had some power behind them. She was dressed in boots, a skirt that was playfully short with a low-cut white shirt. It made her breasts bounce in a way that made my heart break. Both of my childhood friends were cute as hell and attracted to each other. I felt bad about it for Snow. She would have to wait until Ket was sixteen winters old. (21.6 earth years) Snow and I were fifteen winters, and Snow loved teasing me at every opportunity.
“I hear you Snow, but we have to keep ourselves focused.” I said looking at my own hands. I was nearly six feet tall, over six feet if you count my pointed dog-like ears. My bushy tail waved belying my calm appearance. I was wearing my school uniform as it was comfortable. Sturdy boots, loose pants, tight white shirt that showed off my chest when I flexed, and a long coat with a slit for my tail. On the right breast of the coat was a red howling wolf head. I think it made me look cool and intimidating. For the record I am a coyote but am often mistaken for a fox or wolf. I rubbed my neck and smiled. I was free for the first time since I was two winters old. I wondered if Ket or Snow felt the same. Snow jumped and turned to me.
“We need to get packed. How long do you think we’ll be gone?”
“Pack for one week.” Ket said coldly, looking over at us. I nodded and took a breath trying not to take in the hint of love coming off the two.
“Pack for two weeks and Snow that means pack light. Two outfits a day is not okay. Everything we have has to fit into our own cabin. Ket, Snow have you thought about what Knight are going to pick?” Big brother, Lord Savage, told us we could pick our own Knight, a thirty-five-foot-tall fighting magically powered suit. Before big brother came all Knights were human shaped, but he had made several based-on animals and magical beasts.
“M. Bison.” Ket said with a nod. She acted a lot like big brother at times. Some people didn’t like her because of that, but she was just Ket to me. M. Bison was a huge bison Knight that was a walking weapons platform that would pull our RV. It was like a cabin on wheels.
“I want a Warden.” Snow said, licking her lips. Wardens were large werewolf like Knights that were fast and powerful. She loved fast moving Knights. I had to think about what I wanted.
“Maybe a normal Knight.” Both women stopped and looked at me.
“Why a normal one?” Snow asked. It was clear I shocked them.
“You have power,” I said pointing at Ket. “You have speed.” I pointed at Snow. “What is our team lacking?” Both women pondered for a long moment.
“A hot tub.” Ket said with a slight smile.
“Yea a hot tub would be nice.” Snow added as she looked over at me. She made the love smell and I had to roll my eyes. It was clear she was thinking of Ket even though she was looking at me. I sighed and flicked Snow’s forehead. “Ouch, meanie.” She growled, jumping back.
“Focus. We are lacking versatility. If I am in a normal one, I could use ice and fire Saber Shots.” The weapons big brother had made that would let a blade fire simple spell. The ones I was referring to shoot a spear of ice and a fireball. I jumped as something wet touched my arm and I looked over at the racoon who was turning away quickly. “When are you going to grow up?” I asked Ket. Snow laughed as she did every time Ket licked me. It happened at least three times a day, if not more. A bull man walked by and laughed openly at us. I had to smile and shake my head at the pair. “Look, meet me at the bay in one hour. Be packed and ready to go. This is our first mission, and I don’t want to fail big brother.” Both focused on me and nodded, their faces showing that they understood what was at stake. I ran to my room and started packing everything I would need. Soon I had something big brother and Auntie Debbie called a duffle bag. It was like a big backpack and made everything easier.
Ket was waiting as she looked over the Knights we had requested. Somehow, she had gained metal magic and enchanting like big brother. She loved the Knights more than anything but was a horrible Knight Commander. I had a variety of skills but all but one were for fighting. The last to show was Snow and she was burdened by two large full duffle bags. I rolled my eyes at that. I had told her to pack light and knowing the girl, she was packing light for her.
“Just remember that all your stuff stays in your room or in your cockpit. I’d rather not find your underwear on the table again.” I scolded. She blushed and made the love smell. Had she hoped Ket would have found them and not me? It was embarrassing for all of us. I shook my head and turned to Ket. “Do you trust these Knights.” In place of a response, the cute racoon girl gave me a thumbs up and nodded. “Well, let’s get loaded up and head out. The sooner we get there, the sooner we get back.” I said with a smile. “Ket, are you okay with pulling us?” She nodded and smiled at the Knight. Once everything was loaded up in the RV, we all looked over our selected Knights. The RV had two compartments for Snow's and my Knights. This left us five rooms to use. I settled into the smallest just to make life easier for the other two.
My new room was small with a single bed and window but would have all I needed. Once I was settled in, I made my way to the forward observation room. I could see Ket getting hooked up and I pulled out the walkie talkie box thing. Big brother had made it to let Commanders talk to each other like they were in the same room. I picked up the one for Ket’s Knight and triggered it on. “How are you doing?” It clicked twice to let me know she was alright. She didn’t like talking and I tried not to push her to do so. Snow joined me and sat on the couch and crossed those long legs and smiled at me.
“What do you plan to do to pass the time?” She asked with a playful smile. I sighed and turned away heading to my room as we started moving. According to big sis Midna, it should take us two weeks to get there and about a week to find our target. Luckily, I brought along a few books to help pass the time. Aside from that, hunting and cooking were my only other duties.
The time passed quickly, and I barely got halfway through my first book when we arrived at the town. I was asked to lock my door each night to make sure we had a bit of extra safety. Big sis Lily had made that clear to me. I wasn’t sure what she had hoped one lock would do, but she had never led me wrong in the past.

We met in the kitchen, and I had a question that needed to be asked. “Should we spend a day in town?”
“I could use some time at an inn.” Snow said, winking at me. Ket looked between us, and I smelled love coming off her. Maybe I could find a girlfriend in the inn?
“Well, let’s go get a drink.” I said with a sigh.
We walked into town careful to leave our Knights and RV out of sight and locked up to make sure they would be there when we got back. It was a fairly normal town if not a little smaller than Happy Valley, our hometown. The people looked at us with disgust and it was a bit off putting.
“Do you get the feeling we aren’t welcome here?” Snow asked. I nodded as Ket tucked into my side. She must be trying to hide behind me. I noted that she didn’t want to lick me but was looking around with fear in her eyes. Snow drew close to her letting Snow flank her other side. Ket reached out and grabbed my hand. I squeezed it to show her it was okay. A group stepped out of an alley and blocked our path.
“Where is your collar, slave?” one said, stepping forward. He was close to my height wearing ill-fitting leather armor and rubbed the grip of a short sword.
“We don’t need a collar, but you may need a muzzle.” Snow said, sneering at him. He frowned and pulled an inch of the blade free, and I could see rust on the blade.
“It’s clear you don’t want our coin in this town, so we'll be leaving.” I said, turning my back on the man.
“I didn’t say you could leave.” He growled. I pushed Ket to Snow and turned to him.
“Listen, we are leaving, if you don’t like it, feel free to fuck off.” I said. I met his eyes and lowered to his blade and back up with a smile. “That’s cute by the way, you may want to get it in adult size next time.” Snow giggled and the man turned red.
“You animal little shit.” He growled and tried to pull his sword. I stepped forward and pushed his sword back in the scabbard. “What the?” He tugged but couldn’t move my hand. I smiled at him.
“An adult sword may be too much if you can’t lift this little one.” I said calmly. The other two stepped forward and the first one smiled and waved them off.
“My mistake, my lord.” He had a greedy smile on his face. I nodded and turned around; my ears focused on him. I would easily hear him draw it if he did. He just walked away muttering to his partners.
Walking out of town, Snow sighed as she looked behind us. The sun had set, and it was dark, hiding us in shadow. I looked over at her. “How many are behind us?” I asked. She gave me an evil smile.
“Six.”
“That makes ten with the four in front.” They were upwind. “What do you two want to do?” I was starting to smile at the chances of a good fight.
“Ghost Stories?” Snow asked. Ket nodded and was starting to become more comfortable.
“No, how much trouble did we get in last time we did that?” I asked and frowned at her.
“I won’t tell Master if you don’t” she said winking at me.
“Fine, but no one dies.” She nodded and I hugged Ket to my side. I smelled love coming off her as she looked at Snow. Snow was giving off jealousy. “Sorry, did you want to take Ket?” I asked Snow. Ket hugged my arm and shook her head. Maybe she was embarrassed? I picked her up and tried not to look into her large dark eyes. “No licking while I’m in the air or I may drop you.” She was blushing madly and was holding her tail.
“I won’t” she said in a whisper. I jumped using my skywalk skill allowing me to jump three times in the air. I jumped into a nearby tree and then up to a high branch. I placed her down and she hugged the trunk.
“Will you be okay here?” I asked. She nodded and I turned away only to feel a tug at my coat. I turned back to see her looking up at me.
“Stay safe.” She said with a nod.
“I will and I will keep Snow safe.” I turned and leapt off the branch almost flowing like a moth down to a lower branch. Snow was across the path and had pulled a black cloak. It made her pale skin and silver hair less visible. I nodded and tapped the branch I was standing on twice. I knew my eyes were better in the dark, but she always had better hearing than I did. She nodded and we watched the men meeting up below us.
“Those slaves were right here.” The leader said, looking around in the dark.
“If they were half as powerful as you said, they would be worth some coins. The Deveros Kingdom will pay through the nose for good slaves.” A fat slaver said as he joined them.
“Gooooo away.” I growled as I leapt over them. I knew it was too dark for them to see. I landed near Snow and took her hand.
“What was that?” The leader asked. I smiled as I leapt, Snow in my arms as she screamed. The men jumped as I landed.
“Go away.” I growled into the darkness. A torch was lit, and the men looked around in the dark. They moved back-to-back with the fat slaver in the middle. Several drew swords as they looked around.
“We should still be inside the barrier.” The leader said. I leapt again, staying just out of view as Snow screamed. The men shook and one ran off into the darkness screaming. Snow started laughing and I had to shush her, but I was starting to laugh too.
“What type of monster is this?” the slaver asked, his eyes were so large, and a horrible smell was coming from the group. It looked like some of them had messed themselves. It was like Snow, and I were back home picking on Hunter that one time. It may have been three times, but we only got in trouble for that one time. Snow screamed and two more fled. I waited until we were right over them before growling.
“Go away.” That seemed to do it and the group fled. I took Snow up to Ket who was laughing in the dark. We joined her and the three of us laughed hard into the night.
Once we were done laughing, I led the women back to the RV. It hurt me that humans acted like that, but what can we do? I lay in bed and just frowned at the words of the slaver. Did this mean that the Deveros Kingdom was taking over towns around us? This was troubling, but I needed to know more. I got up, put on a cloak to hide my tail and ears and made my way out into the night.
Once in the inn, I sat at a table, looking around. I saw mostly thugs as a human barmaid came up to me. “What will you have?” She asked sweetly.
“Can I have water and a loaf of bread?” She nodded and walked away. Soon she returned and set them in front of me.
“That will be three copper.” She looked like a normal human woman, if not a bit old for me.
“I have a silver if you can give me information.” I said pulling the coin out.
“I am free later if that is the information you want.” She said with a wink. I pulled the hood down slightly to avoid being seen blushing.
“I was hoping to know about the Deveros Kingdom.” She frowned and put her hand on her hip.
“Shame you are a cute one. As far as them, they moved in a while back. It made the slavers happy as they picked up anyone, they could get their hands on. It’s like they are building an army or something.” I nodded at her, gently grabbed her hand and placed the coin in it so no one can see it.
“Thank you, this way you can claim I gave you a copper.” I said with a wink. She blushed and pulled her hand to her chest.
“If you ever want to come back when I’m away from work.” She said with a sweet smile. I nodded and stood. The water and bread looked common and unappetizing so I left it there. I made my way back to the RV to see Ket standing outside. She looked worried until she saw me. She ran up to me and hugged me around my middle. I wrapped my arms around her and smiled.
“Where did you go?” She asked in a small voice.
“The Deveros Kingdom took over that town. That is why they acted like that.” She nodded and backed off. “We need to tell big brother when we get back." She nodded and reached out to me. I took her hand, and she pulled me into the RV. Once I was sure everything was locked up, we went to bed.
Two days later, we were walking through the woods. Snow and I were in our Knights and walking far ahead of Ket. We were nearing the target area and on guard. The downside is Ket had been playing with our cooling system and it stopped working.
“Hey Gen, there is a lake up ahead. I need to cool off.” Snow said through our walkie talkies. I wiped my brow and blinked the sweat away.
“Sure, you go first, and I’ll keep watch.”
“Okay, but no peeking.” She teased. I nodded and we stopped by the lake. We dismounted and she skipped to the lake. I took my Saber Shot and walked around the lake, careful not to look at her in the water even though I really wanted to. I wouldn't betray her trust. After what felt like too long, she came to me, and she was dressed, and I tried not to look at the way the water clung to her body. “Your turn.” She said sweetly. I nodded and made my way to the water. It was nice, cool and refreshing. I needed this and was able to cool off. The only thing that made this awkward and uncomfortable was Snow arguing with someone. I turned my ears in the direction of Snow to hear the other person, a woman from the sounds of it exclaim,
“Why do you look like Mama?” I smiled.
“Sounds like we found our target.”
