'i might have said too much,' aero thought as he pulled back. walking round the table to retake his seat. he chooses not to look at his slightly panicking teammates, 'dear zalts let her not have aero arrested!' Lior silently prayed to the legendary beings. she didn't think that the meeting would spiral so badly so fast.
of course, none of them could have predicted how quickly Baili would insult aero's pride which set him off, of course, his team was glad he didn't outright strike her. but from the gouges he left on the table it took great restraint from him. 'if she wasn't anyone else he probably would have just smacked her,' Tzillia commented to herself. she also wondered if they would make aero pay for the damages.
'what did he mean?" Baili asked herself, how could he possibly be around? he might be younger than her, but hunters tend to have their lives cut short by missions. that said for what he thought of his skills, to her it reeked of arrogance. but she didn't say that eyeing the damage to her table. something to deal with later, for now, she needed to talk about reaching space.
'he holds information that we'll need to get anywhere in a timely manner,' but she remained silent staring him down. he meet her gaze with a face of stone, a few petals passed in silence as she waited for him to react. but aero remained silent, completing if she was worth reacting to. she already insulted him greatly, and he didn't want to give her more than he needed.
"If you're waiting for aero to break," Inni spoke breaking the silence. Lior followed up," we could be here for an entire moon cycle." he didn't even know if she was exaggerating, Baili frowned before signings. "alright, child," aero gave a full face twitch but remained silent, " what do you suggest we do?"
for a moment aero pondered giving into his spite and launching at her, but they needed his help. not to mention he needed her resources. "there are many challenges transversing space, and a number of them are just reaching it. then surviving the void, navigating it." he noticed one of the guards pulled out some scrolls.
"the last problem is simple enough, we can trade for star maps and work from there. " Baili asked how much of a struggle it would be to reach space." we have to make sure we survive it first," Baili quickly countered. "what the point of surviving it if we can't even reach it, not to mention even with outside it will probably take a long while to reach the point where either matter. " aero didn't have an actual argument, not to mention he didn't want to waste energy on her by being petty.
however, a part of him that badly wants to be so petty and infuriate her.
they spent the rest of the meeting talking about the technological advance meant for their planet to reach space, creating a flight craft. they relied on creatures to transverse the clouds, but that wasn't going to work in the stars. as far as they knew they weren't a creature on their planet caple of leaving the atmosphere. but even there was they doubted it was something they could tame easily.
plus on a general scale, they needed to raise their planet's technical level or they would be easy pickings for the more violent people. like space bandits, a concept many of them didn't get. creatures were too much of a problem for things like bandits didn't exist. creatures once they found a bit of weakness you would attack. easily the more aggressive species could take out any kind of budding bandits before they could build any kind of specific defense.
"I see what you're saying if the sound doesn't travel well in space who knows how well our melodies will work," Baili commented after aero explained why they should increase their technological level.
"no, I think the melodies will still work, it's our vibrating bones that cause the effect anyway." That meant at least some medlies would probably still work. he believes mostly short-range ones, "our bones vibrate?!" Tzillia shouted looking at her hands in amazement or disgust. aero was not sure.
"let me guess the space people told you?" aero nodded, " I don't remember the details of the matter." he talked to the helper about it once and that was months ago. he didn't party see the information about his own biology as that useful, true it was interesting to know how his body allowed for the mystical effects. but beyond a better idea of managing it in combat, he didn't find much use for the information.
"we'll I guess that's the reason melodies harm us," Baili's main guard commented to themself. " something to keep in mind I guess,' she didn't know if there was a way around that problem other than holding back on their melody use. she thought about it while aero spoke about how melodies would definitely help them reach space.
"I know a melody with more than a dozen notes would allow users to survive the void but that wouldn't be helpful in large-scale travel," not to mention he didn't actually know how long it would last. from what he knew from school, the longest melody lasted little more than a flower. that wasn't enough time to do anything in space.

forget traveling, unless they achieved light-speed travel as well. but that might not be enough time to reach some of the closer planets. forget the one in another star system. besides even if they managed to create a melody to achieve at the speed of light that didn't mean they should. anything that moves as fast or faster than light needed a certain level of durability so the speed didn't pull them apart.
another topic that came up was the trade, aero mentioned being in contact with the lord of greed. though he didn't mean the title. "I can't help you there much for the moment as I don't have a lot to trade with and I might owe her a bit." he wasn't sure how much money he's made her, but for the moment he would like to be able to just straight buy something instead of making a trade for his energy.
without the full knowledge of the energy, he wielded he rather not rely on it, but he would use it. he should talk to Xoqax, maybe he's learned something new. but that was for later at the moment he focused back on the meeting that lasted two flowers and passed mid-day.
"yeah I don't like that!" aero stretched out as they stepped out of the building feeling the light of the sun fully again. he hasn't spent that much time indoors sitting in a long time, even when he went to hunter school he was pretty active during class. causes there weren't things you could only learn in theory. but sadly for the young lord, he was aware it was something he was going to have to get used to.
even if he didn't start an organization like the lord of greed has done, he would still have to talk with so many people. which would take many flowers, he wasn't looking forward to this in the slightest.' but that probably won't be for a while.' which he was happy about
'well done my lord!' the helper spoke up for the first time in a while. aero asked what they'd been doing during that time," observing you my lord. seeing how you cope without my assistance," aero thought over it for a moment. a question formed in his mind.
"just to see how I do or are you preparing for something?" he wouldn't be mad at either answer, aero liked testing his own limits, seeing just how far he could go. how would his pride grow if his abilities didn't? the helper answer the question pretty simply." a bit of both honestly my lord," they were testing how the lord's education would progress. through this point, their lord has gained a better hold on his emotions.
which is something valuable during negotiations. the meeting with Baili, not to mention what came before showed the helper how they could better guild their lord." so how do you suggest I grow?" aero asked the helper, a bit of irritation in his tone. the helper was phased by it, lightly expecting such a thing to happen. their lord didn't take commands well.
thankfully the help didn't have any only suggestions, like betting games with his team. they would allow him to bond with them while letting him improve his poker face. the helper suggests many things that their lord could do on the road, seeing as he spent a good amount of time traveling.
'by the way, my lord you should take a look at your stats, you've racked up a good amount of experience as a leader.' wondering what the bodiless being was thinking aero pulled up the menu he hasn't checked in months. actually as far as he remembered he hasn't checked it when he sealed the leaking energy.
Abiathar Aero
Mind 2.9
Body 3.2
Energy 4.6
Lord Level 4
"so I've reached level four," that was good. though he didn't need a screen to tell him of his improvements, it was nice to see them displayed before him. "I never asked but how does my there stats increase?" he wanted to bring up the level of his mind and body.
'These numbers are overviews of your attributes, mind is things like intelligence and wisdom, memory, emotions, empathy. experience extra. the body is everything part of your body down to your individual cells' aero asked what a cell was and the helper told him to ask Tova.
'i'll send her a letter,' aero stated.' anyway energy is what energy I can store and use right? the number has gone up because I've stored the energy. My body has gone up because I excise daily but I've been pushing harder. mind went up because I'm learning to control myself better and have better experiences while learning new things from Tova. is that correct?'
'Exactly my lord,' the praise went right to the young lord's pride, ' but with the information I've gained about your race, I'm not sure how much more you can continue to raise your stats before you reach your limit?' aero hummed for a moment. reaching his limits wasn't that much of a problem to him, he would simply work with that.
his limit wouldn't stop him, if he couldn't get stronger he would improve his technique. if he couldn't get smarter, he would learn other things. just because he reached his limit didn't mean he would stop.
'so it's likely that you will have to break through those limits by transforming your body!' aero stopped walking before the inn, and his teammates "what?" the helper didn't say much about what it meant to transform his body. but they did tell him, it likely would be a stiff mountain to cross. 'as far as my knowledge of your race, no one has transformed their body.'
taking a deep breath aero tried to calm his heart, the chance to walk an unknown path. if he could make it to the end how much would that say about his skills, how many would be forced to acknowledge my ability when it came to an end? better yet, once he transformed what would he be able to accomplish? he was excited, that was clear to his team but he didn't say what.
"so what are your suggestions? how do you think I should reach my limits?" the helper started putting out a list of things that aero could do to strengthen his mind and body, even something for his team. aero wrote this down on a scroll, which he would so them later. for the moment he turned around to head back to the inn's cafe for something to eat.
"we've accomplished our goal right?" Inna asked as aero joined them at the table. "yes if they need something they can send a later." Galia choked on her water, she understood aero valued his own time over there. but even the leader of their country, "is there going to be a day when I'm not surprised by how you act?"
"you better hope so," aero told her because it sounded like it would be a real problem in the long run. for her anyway unless it got on aero's nerves and he hit her. which he didn't want to, he would currently tentatively call her a friend.
"I'm sure you'll figure something out," tzilla comforted her fellow teammate before turning to their leader." so where are we headed next? a mission or more training?" that caused aero to pause, he took a moment to think. " small mission practical experience is needed for all of us right now."
"then in that case," idit spoke up," I suggest he hunt some babbits those fucker aren't too large of a threat if you aren't surrounded." aero school his face the best he could and tried to not rush his agreement. though the ones that attacked him were probably dead and one with the soil. he would love a rematch with the race, "we should check if there are any missions for babbit first."
there wouldn't be any problem if they just randomly hunted, they would need to make a report. which was kind of a several-flower process, so finding a mission would be a simpler option. also, it would secure their payment which they would need.
they've spent a good amount of coin on their travel together, not just because of their new weapons and flight. the supplies, mostly food. then other things like traveling soap so he could clean in rivers. this over the course of several weeks took a lot from their savings. they probably wouldn't be this low on funds if they had done a bit of hunting while they traveled.
'well, we had made it a priority to get our new weapons, something to keep in mind later.' since it was still pretty early in the day, the team decided to use it.
