After my little escape attempt, Myrtie decided to trap more poor souls into her contracts, which were better thought out after seeing me taking advantage of the loopholes.
Her rules were, no escaping and every command must be obeyed.
Seeing as how she did not alter the contents of my contract, it should be that the rules of a completed contracts can not be changed.
There were four of them, all male, which was highly suspicious. No, not them, but Myrtie. Anyways they are all normal basic types, there was 2 mutts, a bird and a fox, all of them were sent out with the mission of gathering eggs.
Currently, we are trekking through the forest west of the village, in my light backpack I sto- I meant borrowed, we carried only 3 eggs.
2 of them was stolen from a Solo player, which I had the task of killing.
That person had let her guard down and strolled though the forest, her tracks were easily followed. After stalking her as a panther by jumping among the branches, I pounced and pierced her stomach with my claws along with a bite to the neck, a foreign attack method that I had never tried.
Normally I would had used a knife, like how I did for the murderer tasks, but it was obvious that in such a terrain, panthers had a better advantage.
Now that I experienced killing with my own bare claws, the slimy squishy feeling of my hand, or should I say paw, inside of someone wasn't that bad.
Even though there wasn't a mirror, I could feel the childish smile of a child that just learned about something fun on my face, that appeared when I changed back to a human, which was gone in the next moment.
I do admit, I did enjoy the scene of her despairing face of the girl and the life leaking out from her eyes, this was the expression that meant I did not had to go back to the room.
But then again, the room isn't here, how could I forget.
Though, old habits are the hardest to change.
Without checking the contents of the backpack, I headed back.
Only when I returned did we learn about the appearance of those eggs, they were about 2 times larger than a normal egg, with intricate patterns carved on the tough shell.
After that we leisurely strolled through the forest, only finding a single egg, honestly I think we should just kill people, but Myrtie insisted we should also look ourselves, in case we encounter a powerful person or group that could permanently kill me, I did say it was fine but she was stubborn about it.
So now, its just me, bear and her.
The rest of today was boring, we just looked for eggs, so I'll omit it.
At night, we had gotten two rooms in the inn, the money to do so was collected by skinning and selling the meat from the beasts that populated the forest.
One room was for the guys, it was only a small one with a kid sized bed while Myrtie had gotten a single bed room for herself.
I wasn't able to sleep along with the pile of people that gathered on the only bed and so I decided on going for a walk, just to clear my mind.

"Kei? Why haven't you gone to sleep?"
A familiar voice came from my back.
Turning around, I replied,
"Kai. " I corrected, then after a while, I added "I can't sleep, anyways you're out here too. "
"Sheesh."
Running towards me, she pulled at my hand and continued moving towards a bench. Siting down, she patted the space next to her.
I sat down,
"What do you want? "
"You can't sleep anyways, let's talk. " she answered with annoyance in her voice.
After a moment of silence, she said as she pushed a lock of hair behind her hair,
"When do you think this whole thing will end?"
"Someday, I guess. "
I answered, my gaze locked on one of the small houses of the village.
"Why are you, like that? "
"What do you mean?"
I asked turning to her, she was looking down at her fingers she fiddled around with.
"You, it's like all this isn't anything to you, all this killing. You kill players knowing they will truly die. How are you calm in this kind of situation where you could die any moment? It's like.....like you don't care if you die. "
She said, her words a bit fumbled, halfway through, she looked up with her eyes shining with tears that seemed to be on the brink of leaking out.
"I have nightmares every night. Scared that I'll die, and you, you kill and enjoy it as you do so. "
She added with a small voice, as if scared of someone hearing her words.
I shrugged and changed the topic,
"How's your family, do you miss them? "
She knew what I was doing, but she did not question me but answered,
"I miss them, a lot. How about you? "
I shrugged again,
"Peanut is probably dead."
"Peanut? " she questioned.
"My hamster."
"No one is at home to feed him? "
"No, it's just me. But I suppose I should make plans to buy another hamster when I get back."
"Look, you're doing again, does lives not matter to you? Is it so easy to replace a life? "
I stood up and stretched my back, without turning back, I said,
"I'm sorry, I'm a bit tired, I'll go back to sleep. "
-----------------------
Upon dawn, we were woken up by bear, the four of Myrite's slaves were sent off whereas I and bear gathered at her room to discuss the course of action today.
Apparently she had decided to receive information by visiting a information broker and paying the price of one egg.
There was 2 different tiers for eggs, common and uncommon. The uncommon eggs had the type of monster it would hatch into carved onto the eggshell instead of patterns.
Those were extremely rare to find, but it seemed that the information broker had gotten the information by following a player that resided in this village like us.
So it seems that our mission today is to track down that very person, that is if he had not left this area.
