Chase stood in front of the castle he had once called home. As much as he wanted to just walk through the front gates Chase would need to sneak in because this manor he had been raised in was no longer his home it was the a place he was exiled from; regardless of chases feelings on the matter, sneaking inside is going to be a hard task to do with only 2 hours left before chased would be magically returned to the low realm against his will.
Chase looked at his watch one more time before springing into action and taking out some enchanted boots from his Storage amulet and quickly placing them on. Once the boots were on Chase Approached the 30 foot high wall that surrounded the Manor. Putting one foot on the wall Chase kicked off the ground. quickly placing his other foot on the wall before gravity forced him back down. The boots glowed softly as they attached themselves to the wall. Chase did the equivalent of a sideways crouch and began to scale the wall. the sun was setting and Chase used this to his advantage hiding in the blinding sunlight he reached the top of the wall.
Peaking over the edge of the wall, Chase did not see any guards, Chase had conflicting feelings about that. No Guards on top of the wall made it easier for Chase to infiltrate and see his daughter at the same time it also allowed others to do the same. thinking about it again though, Chase realized that this is a frontier town so it didn't really matter currently. Chase swung his body over the wall and hurried down the walkway to the door leading to the kitchens from atop the wall. The walkway is used by servants to quickly get hot food to the feast hall located on the other side of the Manor. upon getting inside he quickly went into a supply closet located about 10 feet past the kitchens. The cooks were currently prepping for dinner so Chase simply strolled by knowing they would assume him to be a guard on duty. Changing into a butlers uniform that he pulled from his storage. Chase exited the supply closet and walked with purpose towards the his daughters room. there was two guards on either side of the door. neither of them were faces he recognized so he simply walked up to them.
"Evening gentleman, the young miss has a visitor. Is she in her chambers at the moment?" Chase spoke with an air of Eloquence.
the two gentleman looked at each other and the guard standing to the right spoke up, "Mistress Eliyetta, has made it clear that no one is to disturb her during her birthday." the guard put his hand on his sword And the other followed suit.
" Easy sir, I see you take your job quite seriously however..." looking to his left and right and then whispering, " Duke Pendigrim is here with a birthday present. he doesn't want his presence known to everyone." Chase lied quite effortlessly.

The guard had a brief look of confusion "shouldn't he be at the eastern fronts fighting the dwarves?"
"Well portals make travel quite easy for a rich and powerful nobleman such as the Duke, so he could be back and forth before anyone notices...but yes your right which is why I am attempting to be discreet right now." Chase did not know about Duke Pendigrim being at war but the Duke was a long time friend that had taken care of his daughte
r in his absence. Chase just mixed truths with lies to reach his goal while quickly looking at his watch. an hour and a half left before he forced back into the low realm.
The guard to the left nodded" I'll go ahead and inform her but no guarantees she will meet him. I haven't seen you around before I assume your with the duke?"
"Yes and no, I am the butler of the dukes wife normally, however due to some circumstances I have found myself in dukes charge for the time being." Chase lied smoothly. the question from the guard was actually a trap since the duke never had servants at his beck and call. The Duke had servants of course but never used them for himself. it was his own preference to take care of things on his own. The Duke was very engaged with military life which could explain his unwillingness to let others handle things for him.
the guard just nodded and knocked before entering the Room he was guarding. after a bit of time a young 10 year old girl came out.
"Duke Pendigrim is here?" was the only thing she said.
Chase almost teared up then and there. she didn't recognize him. She may have been young when he was exiled but she didn't know who he was. swallowing the knot in his throat he coughed into his hand and bowing slightly " yes please follow me he has to leave very shortly and wished to speak with you before he returned to the warfront."
Eliyetta followed the butler with her two guards, who looked familiar to her for some reason.
Chase led the group to the meeting Chambers and whispered to the guards " The Duke doesn't want people to know he is here and guarding the entrance will alert people that someone of importance is here." he pulled out the dukes emblem something Chase had gotten many years ago before his exile.
"we cant allow that" the older guard said. though he made no aggressive gestures.
" its fine Fredrick, i have known the duke for years. this is likely just a quick happy birthday."
the guard Fredrick put his hand behind his head, " But mis..."
"no buts this is an order go fetch me some Tea from the kitchens this will likely be over before the tea arrives isn't that right mystery butler" Eliyetta looked at him inquisitively.
At that moment chase knew he fucked up, but before the guards could catch onto what his daughter was implying he simply said " ah silly me, My name is Chase. I don't normally leave the residence so my apologies for the lack of manners"
Eliyetta eyes widened a bit at that but she said nothing further and gestured her guards to leave them alone.
Entering the waiting room Chase waited for Eliyetta to enter the room closed the door and quickly grabbed Eliyetta up in a hug.
" I missed you" Chase cried allowed as he hugged Eliyetta.
"Daddy? is that really You?"
