Jun wakes up after a couple hours, laying up against the wooden couch he looks around the empty cabin.
“So this really is reality and not a dream huh?” He feels around the couch noticing something isn’t there.
“Mary?” He calls out while getting up. Walking around the cabin his nose doesn’t feel itchy compared to the first time he came in. To the cabinets, chairs, and tables; Jun can see a slight gleam coming from them.
“Did she clean this place?”
“Jun! Are you- Oh, you’re awake, that's good. How are you feeling?” Mary walks in carrying a small woven basket.
“Oh hey Mary, I just woke up… did you clean this whole cabin?”
“Hm? Yes it was pretty stuffy and all this dust isn’t good for our health. So I did what I could and I went out to get us these” She walks up to Jun to show the basket. The basket is full with herbs and odd looking fruits. He picks up a fruit that resembles an apple, but its stem has a flower on top and the fruit’s color is vibrant blue.
“Looks like an apple… I think? Are you sure these aren’t poisonous, Mary?” He inspects the apple-like fruit then the others in the basket.
“I’m sure!” She grabs the apple-like fruit and takes a big bite out of it. She happily chews, then lets out an “Ah~!”
“See? It’s really sweet, try it.” With a satisfied smile on her face she hands over the fruit to Jun. Feeling the heat of his face rise to the tip of ears he looks away from Mary and quickly takes a bite from the fruit.
“Oh this is really sweet, holy crap.” He takes another bite.
“See I told you! Here give me a moment. I’ll have these fruits and herbs prepped for our lunch. I’m sure after all that happened yesterday and this morning we haven’t had a proper meal.” She walks past Jun to set the basket on the counter. Pulling out the fruits and organizing the herbs she hums to herself.
THUD!
“Jun?” She turns around to see Jun on the ground. A bright digital text appears above him.
Jun has fainted.
“Jun! Not again!”
A few hours later he wakes up to see Mary as a dakimakura again. This time a small wooden plate is set on the table by the couch, on top is fresh herbs chopped and sliced into a nice salad. A note is placed by the plate and it read:
Jun, I’m really sorry for causing you to pass out again. I think the fruits aren’t edible for you. Only I could eat them, but I made you this healthy salad. I really hope you enjoy it!
A little heart is drawn at the end of the note.
“What if this salad is poisonous to me too?!” He yells, but his stomach growls to his dismay. “Fine… I need to eat.” Picking up a wooden fork he takes a small bite out of a small piece of herb.

Suddenly the salad catches on fire.
Whoosh!
“What the fuck!” He throws the fork with the herb, hitting the wall across the room and it too bursts into flames. “Wait what in the actual fuck.”
More things in the cabin suddenly catch fire despite being far from the burning wall and salad.
“Jun! We need to run!” Mary screams at Jun. He turns to her picking her off the couch and takes off with not another thought to the random flames. Outside stood a bunch of large raccoon-looking creatures surrounding the cabin. Their hands are raised high in the air and just above them small fireballs form before launching straight at the cabin.
“I’m hallucinating aren’t I? I just ate a poisonous apple and passed out but I’m still feeling the after effects. Maybe I’ve been hallucinating this entire time and I’m back at my apartment dreaming all of this up. Well I did eat that week old pizza… the mushrooms must have done all this to me” Jun stood there wrapped up in his thoughts figuring out his sanity. The raccoons ignored him and continued to burn the cabin down. They chitter and chatter their teeth in enjoyment of the rising flames.
“Why is this all happening…” Mary sighs as she’s only able to watch the chaos. It only took the cabin minutes to completely burn down to the massive fire barrage from the raccoons. These creatures finally take notice of Jun sending the same balls of fire towards him.
“Jun! Duck!”
A flash of light blinds the raccoons and Mary appears out of the light swiftly swatting away the fireballs. She turns to Jun to see him on the ground in writhing agony.
“Did you get hit? Let m-” Running to his side she tries to find any burns on him
“Goddammit, My eyes! Ahhhh!” His hands clutching his face still wiggling around in the dirt. A bright digital text appears above Jun.
Jun has been blinded.
“Oh… I’m so sorry, Jun! That happens whenever I transform.” She bats away more fireballs making sure none reach Jun.
“Y-you didn’t think to mention that? Oh god I think I’m blind.”
“Just uh wait here! I’ll take care of these creatures.” She runs off.
“Sure I’ll just be here… on the ground… in pain. I guess I’m a worm now since I can’t see.” The ground rumbles and explosions go off not too far from him.
“Oh my god! What the hell is happening now?!” The raccoon's screeches fill the air and he feels more rumbling from the explosions. Soon silence falls.
“I’m back, here I can heal you just stay still for me okay?”
“I already am” He sighs. She kneels down beside him and carefully picks up his head. Allowing him to rest his head on her lap. He audibly gulps from the sensation of having an actual ‘lap pillow’ situation happen to him. He soon feels a warmth enveloping him in seconds. A few minutes pass, and he opens his eyes, regaining his vision. But he squints at the bright text appearing above him.
Jun has been healed.
“Woah has this always been floating above my head?”
“No, it seems to happen whenever your conditions change. I can’t seem to figure out why though. At least it lets me know if you’re okay or not.”
“Well… thank you for taking care of me this much I… I really appreciate you, Mary.” Jun sits up still unable to look her in the eyes.
“You’re welcome, Jun. I apologize for causing you some trouble though.” She hugs him tightly, but not too tightly. “I’m glad you’re alright, I was honestly worried about you and everything that’s happened so far.” Jun can feel his entire body heating up just from one hug. He gives a softer hug in return, anything more would be too much for him to handle.
“Her… Her breasts. I can’t have another faint status appear above me! How many times did she have to see that happen, oh my god!”
Finally letting go of each other's hugs they got up and brushed themselves off. Jun looks around seeing the mess left behind. Some of the raccoons were knocked out, small parts of the ground were blown off and burnt, and some of the trees were broken down as if hit with a heavy force.
“Did you beat all these fire-balling-raccoons?” He points as he turns to Mary. She smiles and nods.
“Huh…” Jun is completely astonished by the gruesome scene.
“I should never make Mary mad. Never.”
