Ages ago, in times hidden by the fog of time, the earth was created. A great unending plain. There was darkness on that still world. So the Creator built two great towerse - lighthouses. They stood tall and illuminated the world for hundreds of miles.
And from that, life came to exist. From great grasslands spanning across entite regions, massive forrests spreading through continents to birds flying in the air. The Creator also created mankind, his proudest achievement.
But that upsset the balance of the universe and hordes of monsters began emerging from the darkness. Great dark energy began to spread, it intensified the further away from the towers you are.
Waves of the dark creatures came crashing down onto the humans, who at that time stood no match against them. The Creator then created the Starfolk, commonly regarded as elves. They had much more physical prowess than even the strongest of men and their will to fight was very strong.

After the elves came, the conflict stablised. However the elves had no interest in art and beauty, which strongly upset the Creator. For that, he created the Earthfolk, short men which above all valued the beauty of nature and people.
Elves settled mostly on the border regions, in order to protect the living world, which was their duty given to them by the Creator. The swarven kingdoms were few and far between, as they rarely moved from place to place due to them clinging on to their beautiful buildings of their wondrous cities. Men settled around those settlements as they were stable and providing for the dwarves, which werent interested in farming nor foraging had by then become very bountiful.
Our story begins in Paxinia a small region, very close to the western tower. It is inhabited by folk of all species, although humans make up a majority of the residents.
