Valus woke up, a cold breeze blew across his face from the open window, from which he also heard the singing of birds and other animals. What a beautiful morning, he thought to himself. He inhaled a breath of fresh air and opened his eyes.
He immediately changed from his nightgown. He put on his slightly ragged clothes and his trusted sandals.
Valus left his house with a small cart, dodging all olive and tomato plants on his way. He went to his local market. He watched the people go by, whilst he opened his stall.
„Oh hey, Val!“, the excited voice was coming from behind him.

„Cordy, where have you been?“, Valus replied cheerfuly.
„I had some important business in Luxert“
„Dealing with the elves buddy?“ he chuckled and patted his friend on the back.
„Yes, but it wasnt much of work, they just sit around doing some rituals, you know how they are... Well, actually this time was rather important, but I cant say it here.“
„4 carrots please as always.“ came from the front of the stall.
„I will catch up with you later, tonight in old Patty’s pub?“ Valus said and quickly turned to his customer.
The rest of the day was rather joyous. Valus had lots of customers and even many unfamiliar faces bought from his shop. By the late afternoon, he earned a lot more than he needed, therefore he went home, excited to visit the pub. Valus was very curious about what his friend would tell him.
