Prologue: Jack, A Sociopath

Jack had been born in the year 2037, Throughout his life he had been practically owned by the company Vintech, a major company which had been the first to produce the very first virtual reality device, along with several other technological advances, such as nanobiotics, which had been used in curing cancer, but only for the right price.

One word to describe the company would be greedy. Tens of millions of people being in debt to them, due to the fact that the price for them to remove the Cancerous cells being 800,000 american dollars, which was almost always being paid through monthly payments with interest. But what can they do when their only other choice is to suffer through until death?

Though there was one other option for few, a program where a parent would offer up their newborn child to the company through underground means, Having the child born under the supervision of the Vintechs own doctors and scientists.

This allowed them to take away the child and claim a miscarriage, removing all evidence of the child's very birth so that they may take them away for Project Evolve. Of which our Protagonist was a part of throughout his entire life.

------------------------------------------------------Jack’s POV------------------------------------

I laid in his pale white room, containing only a bed and door to a bathroom. My eyes closed as I lay somewhat dizzy after the latest experiment.

They had installed an upgrade to the bio-nanites in my blood, which increased my recovery to a hundred times the average male's recovery speed, The nanites would work quickly to weave the surface of the skin closed, then repair the damaged insides.

To be totally honest I didn't truly hate the experimental procedures they had put me through, as they all seemed to be rather beneficial, aside from the one which damned me to appear like a little brat for the rest of my life.

Shaking my head to stop my train of thoughts on a subject I'd rather not think about, I closed my eyes and focused on the microscopic computer which they had surgically added to my brain.

Mentally, I reached out to the camera that watched me as I lay from the corner of the room, In almost an instant my view switched to the camera’s.

Allowing me to see my 5’3 tall self in a white patient’s gown, I had been around for sixteen years now yet I still looked like some little pre-teen. Getting back to work I mentally moved through the system of cameras, switching from room to room.

I still remember when I learned to do this and realized how lucky I was, as almost every other subject to the experiments they put us through was either horribly scarred or completely gone mentally, though often times they were both.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

As I continued through the system I swiftly reached the security guards computer, from which I attached myself to the private servers of the lab, Flipping through files until I reached my own, I quickly checked which experiment I had been assigned next.

I flinched as I saw the words ‘Fire resistance’ Which as far as I can tell seemed painful. I switched to the nearest not so painful experiment, which would be for a boy named ‘Ben’.

From what I see he had his ability to feel pain dulled and a next experiment of ‘Stamina recovery increase’ Which sounded much better to me so I went ahead and took the liberty of switching our experiments.

Once I was finished I removed my mind from the system, wiping a bit of blood that had began to drip from my nose. Getting out of the bed I walked into the restroom, Looking into the mirror at my blueish gray eyes, which were slightly bloodshot at the moment.

Turning the water on I splashed some of it in my face before looking back up at the mirror, In shock I quickly jumped back as some sort of blue screen had appeared before my face.

Congratulations! You have been randomly selected for the greatest game eveerrrr~ ( Not an understatement. ;3)

                                                                            Would you like to play?

[Yes] I [No]

I froze, extremely confused at what I was seeing, Had they installed some weird update while I was sleeping? Hesitantly I reached out and pressed the button labeled [Yes] I immediately regretted the decision as my body fell to the floor and my vision went black.

Okay~ I rewrote that like ten times because I felt it wasn't good enough! Feel like its too short as well but thank god its just a Prologue.

Thank you for reading and please provide constructive criticism! ^^ Dunno if I will add too much romance or a harem yet so suggestions and the like will always be welcome!

Someone capable of teaching me how to use the magical blue boxes correctly would be appreciated. o.o'
