It was getting cold and the elders’ old body could not stand the cold. They were getting goosebumps from the cold.

“Uwah. it’s getting cold. Someone light the chimney” righty said.

The high elder raised his hand signaling them to stop. The other two elders also stopped smiling and put up their serious faces.

When everything calmed down the high elder spoke

“Hello, young man. My name is Han I’m the high elder of this village I make major decisions here, and here the major decision here is to what we should do with you. Who knows you might be a spy.”

Emanon heard Han’s speech with all seriousness. All the embarrassment on his face vanished into thin air.

‘So he is the higher authority in this village. He looks kind of serious guy. Is he trying to dispose of me if I’m of no use. If it’s true than I have to show them my worth but…. What is my worth.’

The elder sitting on the right understood what he was thinking so he spoke to clarify his doubt

“It seems your thoughts are heading in wrong direction young man. You must be thinking that we will dispose of you if you are of no use to us but don't worry you'll be of some use to us”

Emanon was surprised ‘How does he know what I was thinking’

The elder chuckled. The elder understood what Emanon was thinking but this time he doesn’t speak

Emanon though for a bit before introducing himself

“Hello, elders I’m Emanon. It’s a name I gave to myself because I don’t have any memory of my past.”

“but you must be a warrior in making in the past to have such a toned body”

“Maybe.”

High elder ordered other to leave the room

“We elders need to discuss something. Everyone leave the room”

Alistair took Emanon outside.

“Those elders are quite naughty.”

“Well everyone has there own way of judging peoples character”

“What do you think they are gonna do with me?”

“Hmm. I think they’ll recruit you as a hunter”

“it means I’ll have to hunt wild animals, but I don’t even know how to use a bow.”

“Haha. don’t worry about that we’ll teach you with other new recruits”

High elder voice came out from the other side of a door. We went in and then what elders said was totally as Alistair told him.

“Emanon. From now onward you are a hunter recruited by our village. We will train you in fight and also will give you food and shelter. You will show us your loyalty by fighting for us in an event of crisis.”

“I accept you conditions.”

Emanon knew this gonna happen so he unhesitatingly agreed.

“Good. Alistair tell him everything he wants to know and send him to his quarter”

After that Alistair and Emanon left the elders’ place. Alistair showed him his quarter and left for his own quarter.

“Report for training at early morning”

Emanon walked inside his quarter and whoa 3 muscles dude were showing off their body

“I think I came in a wrong room. Sorry. You guys continue.”

Emanon shut the door and hurriedly moved out of there
