The current boss of the dungeon was a large giant spider. It held no special abilities, or any magical advantages other than its size. It wasn't even particularly smart. Despite how seemingly mundane it was, there was no creature in the dungeon that had proved its equal. All who had ever tried to take it on perished.
Acid had only ever seen it fight once. It was a long time ago, perhaps even as far back as five cycles. What he had seen hadn't been pretty. The giant spider rushed its opponent and crushed them. It had happened so quickly that it took Acid a few moments to realize what happened. Now though, things were different.
Back then, Acid had been small and unaware of how size truly effected ones speed. Now that he was larger he was sure that the giant spider wouldn't appear quite as fast. Well, he was mostly certain.
Regardless, it was too late to turn back now. He had already set foot into the boss's lair, which was basically a declaration of challenge. In recognition of this wordless challenge, the giant of a giant spider rose up and turned in Acid's direction.
For a moment the two came eye to eye with each other, and they knew that one of them would die today. Still, they drew closer and began to circle one another.
All eight of Acid's eyes scanned the giant in front of him from top to bottom. The giant before him was thick for a spider its size. Each one of its limbs was packed with muscle and deadly intent. All around the room sat the remains of its previous victims, desiccated corpses that had all shared Acid's goal at one point.
Acid would not end up like them.
With a fierce hiss, he charged at the giant. The closer he got the more he realized how small he was in comparison. His will wavered and for a few fleeting moments he reconsidered his actions. Any chance to go back on them, however, disappeared. The giant moved, and it moved fast.

Each of its steps covered far too much distance. Acid was forced to quickly sitter out of the way, up onto a nearby wall. The giant moved to follow, once again forcing Acid to think fast. He jumped back, his fall taking him onto the giant's back.
Before it could shake him off he dug his fangs into it, as deep as they would go. Poison pumped out of them, a poison much different than what Acid had expected. It thrummed with power, with a potency he'd never known. Still, it wasn't enough to outright kill the giant spider.
It clearly weakened it, based off how its thrashes were no longer as powerful. They were still powerful enough to get Acid off the giant's back, though. He fell to the ground on his back and rolled onto his legs as soon as possible. The second he was up, one of the giant's legs came crashing down where he had just been.
It left a mark in the muck covered dungeon stone below. Which was impossible as far as Acid knew. His questionable knowledge aside, the leg made for a great target. One that he took full advantage of with a second poisonous bite.
A decision he immediately regretted as the leg swatted him away. He flew through the air and landed several too fars away in a heap of webbed corpses. They squelched beneath him and he had to keep himself from acknowledging their horribly rancid smell as he stood.
Then another leg came darting toward him from above. He narrowly dodged it, only for a second leg to crash into one of his.
A pained hiss escaped him as the giant drew near, an angry look in all eight of its eyes. It was as it grew closer that Acid finally used his new ability. From out his mouth came a glob of acid green goo.
It flew right past the giant and landed somewhere on the other side of it.
It also distracted the giant, who turned to look at what just flew past its head, giving Acid enough time to fire a second shot. This time it flew true and struck one of the giants legs. The unfortunate limb burned, its armor melted off and soon after it was made into two pieces.
The giant screamed and Acid fired again, hitting the other leg pinning him down. Then, with a sudden lurch in a different direction, he pulled himself free. Green blood oozed out from his recent wounds and dripped onto the ground. It too was acidic in nature, slowly eating away at the stone beneath his feet. The sound of it drew the giants furious attention.
But having two less limbs to fight with made it much less imposing.
