Log 2:

…on? Is it on, Kakuii? Oh yeah! Alright, big news.

We're almost there, for real this time. We're about two, maybe three days out max. But we're close enough that there are some observations we can make with the instruments on the ship, we were out of range before. There's something that we can see now that the instruments on the ground couldn't pick up: there is life on the planet, but there is also life off the planet.

There's a cloud, or at least that's what we've been calling it. It floats above the stratosphere, just out of the atmosphere and seems like it's in orbit. We aren't sure what it is yet exactly, but it's alive. All of our scans and sensors indicate that the mass has properties of organic matter and, more than that, it isn't moving like any natural phenomenon observed in space before. We're literally observing a first for humanity: confirmed life elsewhere in the universe.

I'm so excited that I'm practically shaking, but you should see how Rayne, our in-house biologist, is reacting. They practically vibrated out of their own skin! Heh. This is literally one of the biggest discoveries in human history, and us ten are going to be the ones to discover it! How exciting is that?

Lieutenant Graves has primed us for another boost, so I need to hop off, but I'll come back with another update soon. Sooner than last time. Promise.

Kakuii, end recording.
